The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

The King’s Hunger

Ch. 534 / 790 May 05, 2026

The King’s throne room hummed with an insidious energy, the preparations for war escalating with every passing hour. The King sat at the head of the long war table, surrounded by his generals, their faces grim as they studied maps of the werewolf territories.

Shadows seemed to writhe in the corners of the room, the air thick with the scent of blood and anticipation.

The King leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled as a slow smile spread across his face.

“Their resistance has been amusing,” he said, his voice dripping with mockery. “But the wolves have outlived their usefulness. It’s time to crush them once and for all.”

The generals nodded in unison, their movements sharp and precise. One of them stepped forward, his voice respectful but resolute.

“The forces are ready, my King. We await your command.”

The King waved him off dismissively, his attention shifting to Adrian, who stood silently at the edge of the room.

“You’ve proven yourself loyal, Adrian,” the King said, his tone laced with condescension. “Perhaps I’ll reward you once we’ve dealt with these nuisances.”

He gestured toward the fake baby cradled in a nearby servant’s arms.

“This child’s blood alone is worth more than their entire pack,” he said with a twisted smile. “Imagine the power I’ll wield when I consume every drop.”

Adrian’s stomach churned, but he kept his expression neutral.

“As you wish, my King,” he said, bowing his head slightly.

The King chuckled, clearly pleased.

“Good. You’ve always understood the value of loyalty, Adrian. Unlike those wolves, clinging to their outdated notions of honor and kinship. They’ll soon learn the price of defying me.”

As the generals resumed their planning, Adrian’s mind raced. He had successfully deceived the King, but the stakes were growing higher with every passing moment. The King’s obsession with power was insatiable, and the war he was orchestrating would devastate everything in its path.

Adrian’s resolve hardened as he stole a glance at the fake baby. He had bought time for Misery’s real child, but he couldn’t stop there. He would ensure that the King’s plans unraveled, piece by piece, and that the tyrant’s hunger for power would be his undoing.

For now, he played the loyal soldier, but beneath the surface, every step he took was one closer to ending the King’s reign for good.
