The battlefield was chaos, a maelstrom of claws, blood, and fire. Eryon tore through the Shadowbound hordes, his claws a blur as he dispatched one twisted creature after another. His amber eyes burned with a feral intensity, his movements driven by raw determination.
He didn’t slow, didn’t falter, each step bringing him closer to the towering figure at the heart of the battlefield: the Vampire King.
As the last Shadowbound fell beneath his claws, Eryon emerged into the clearing where the King stood. The King’s crimson cape billowed around him, his expression calm and unreadable as he surveyed Eryon with faint amusement.
“You’re relentless, I’ll give you that,” the King said, his tone smooth and condescending. “But you’re wasting your energy on a fight you can’t win.”
Eryon’s lips curled into a snarl, his claws flexing as he advanced. His chest heaved with exertion, but his strength hadn’t waned. If anything, his rage seemed to fuel him.
“You took everything from me,” he growled, his voice trembling with fury. “Misery. My child. My pack. You’ll pay for all of it.”
The King raised an eyebrow, a cruel smile playing at his lips.
“Misery?” he repeated, feigning ignorance. “Ah, yes. The girl who thought she could defy me. She was a brave one, I’ll admit. Brave… but foolish.”
Eryon froze, his claws digging into his palms as the King’s words sank in. “What did you do to her?” he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
The King chuckled, a deep, mocking sound. “You’ll have to be more specific,” he said. “I’ve done so many things.”
Something inside Eryon snapped. With a roar, he launched himself at the King, his claws aimed for the vampire’s throat. The King sidestepped the attack effortlessly, his movements almost lazy, but Eryon was relentless. He spun, slashing again, forcing the King to dodge and block.
Their clash was explosive. Eryon’s vampiric strength, honed and fueled by his fury, was far greater than the King had anticipated. Each blow landed with the force of years of pain and anger, driving the King back. The King’s smirk faded as he began to realize the true extent of Eryon’s power.
“You think rage makes you powerful?” the King sneered, countering with a sharp strike of his blade. Eryon deflected it with his claws, pushing the King further back. “It only makes you reckless.”
“No,” Eryon snarled, his voice a guttural growl. “It makes me unstoppable.”
The two clashed again, their strikes shaking the earth beneath them. Eryon’s movements were swift and precise, his claws tearing through the King’s defenses.
For the first time, the King looked less like an invincible tyrant and more like a man struggling to hold his ground.
