She leapt out of the door immediately after she saw Orla approaching the reception, scornful eyes focused on her heels as they dangerously clanged against the floor.
Orla put a halt to her steps when she saw Mia. It was going to be a furry with her.
"Thanks for having me, Mia." Orla initiated the conversation when Mia didn't stop glaring at her.
"You sure know that you are not welcome here, right?" Mia's eyes were as vicious as a starved predator, dawdling around her prey.
"I haven't noticed that."
"Right? You haven't."
"Mia, what problem do you have with me? What exactly did I do to you, Sister?" She demanded jokingly, but as her sister stared at her, pushing her to talk. She wanted to know why she hated her so much.
It couldn't be because of Callan. She hated her even before Callan came into their lives.
"I will not stand here and talk to you," Mia sneered.
"Says the person who has been loitering around, waiting for me. You want to talk, so why not say whatever you have on your mind, Sister?"
Though tempted to talk, Mia relaxed her nerves. She knew where Orla was driving.
"I stayed back because I want you to get something into your head," she said pointedly. "I have never met you before here. I do not know you and you are not my fucking sister! I have never seen you as one and would never see you as one of my sisters!"
Orla laughed briefly. Shooting her head up, she rounded her sister and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't want to associate with you either. I do not know you as my sister because I don't want to be sisters with someone as bitter as you, Mia. We shall take different paths if our paths cross. I don't know you and do not know me."
Shock sabotaged Mia. She stood there, quiet.
Her mind wandered around when and how Orla got the nerves to talk back at her like that.
"Yeah, I see." She drawled.
"I have things to do." Orla walked away after, never turning back to Mia's eyes disdainfully gawking at her.
"We shall see."
As she looked at Orla, she thought of how to completely ruin her and she wouldn't stop until she got what she wanted out of her.

Her first day at work was arduous. All her life, she had never had to work for that long. Her fingers hurt, her head ached, and her eyes were almost blurry as she found her way into the bedroom.
"Welcome back and Congratulations on your new job, I heard about it." She was welcomed by Callan's voice.
She pretended to be oblivious to his presence in the bedroom, but he was all over the place.
His scent, the tense atmosphere, the feeling of his eyes on her as she relieved herself of the extra clothing and jewellery she had on.
"Orla," he called in a soft voice, like he had waiting all day for her.
He craved her touch, her smile and him inside of her.
"I don't want to talk about this." She raised a hand to shush him. "Not now, I am too tired to get involved in a conversation with you."
He dropped the computer he was working with on the bed. He had not been himself for days, and the situation had worsened after she left that morning.
"I am proud of you." He hugged her from behind. "I knew you could do it, I am glad you went for it."
"All courtesy of you, Callan. I know that's what you want me to say."
"Orla," he tightened his hold around her waist, setting her heart on fire.
She didn't like that he was that Close. His closeness always made her think negatively. Now is not the time to be intimate with him.
"Let me go, Callan." She grunted, as if she was fibbing, as if she didn't ever want him to let go. As if she wanted him more, and more.
"I don't want to. I'm suffering, Orla."
"I do not care! I suffered too and-" tears loomed in her eyes. "I am still suffering from what you did to me."
The grip loosened, he sighed and nodded his head. "Were you serious about divorcing me?"
"You wouldn't take this if you were in my shoes. Callan, you would have thrown me out of your house now If I was the one who cheated on you. You wouldn't take this!" Tears spilled down her cheeks, in fat and thin folds.
She hated that she was easy to cry. She wasn't a weakling, but the tears were always quick to pour.
"Don't leave me, Orla. You can do everything to me, but don't leave me." He begged, pain oozing from his voice.
They were both in pain and didn't know how to heal without wanting each other. Their hearts called for each other, they both needed each other to heal, but Orla wasn't yielding.
Fighting her feelings was more hurtful than what Callan did to her. She was slowly dying as she fought hard to prove to Callan that she didn't need him when in the real sense, she couldn't breathe when he was not close to her.
Her eyes roamed the room and they landed on the cat he got for her on her birthday.
Memories of that day flashed through her head, and she wished they would remain that way; very happy and peaceful.
The cat meowed, but she didn't respond to her cries. Instead, she slumped on the bed, shutting her eyes.
When the cat didn't stop meowing, Callan went forward to attend to it. With heaviness in his heart, he picked up the cat.
Orla watched him from the corner of her eyes, she watched as he took the cat out of the room, probably heading out to feed her. Her heart broke into shreds again.
That should have been her, feeding the cat while she talked to him about how her day went but that wasn't happening.
Her mind remained calm as her eyes closed. She was sad, she wasn't herself anymore, she was just a shadow of who she used to be.
Callan had taken away her happiness and it sucked that he was the only one who could bring back the stolen happiness.
Mia is so bitter. I hope she slips and falls into a ditch. Our girl stood up for herself, BTW.
But, I am scared. What if Orla and Callan don't end up together? At this point, Orla's next moves are unpredictable. I don't know what she's capable of doing, guys!
