"No, you can't do that. His face is so perfect and too pretty to get hurt. I don't want you to do that." Orla cooed.
"Oh, he's still your husband anyway," Jackson clicked his tongue like he was bored. "What's the severity of the hurt? Is it something that's unforgivable and has he apologized to you?"
"He has, on several occasions. But it still hurts here," rubbing her hand against her chest, she looked at Jackson, her eyes dull and sad. "Sometimes sorry isn't just enough and I wish he didn't do it."
"Orla, what do you want now?" He asked in a gentle, yet serious tone. Eyes on her like he wanted all the truth from her, the truth and nothing else.
Orla could feel him searching her soul, she shrugged her shoulders again.
"I don't know what to do. I have never been more confused about something in my life. I miss him terribly, but I also don't want to be with him."
"You don't want to be with him but you told me that you're married and you weren't comfortable with me flirting with you," Jackson smiled, taking her hands in his. "You don't want to stay away from him. You are just very angry and don't know what to do yet."
He was right, but she wouldn't admit that easily.
"What do you want to do? I ask again."
"I miss him, Jackson. I want him so bad. I have not been sane since I got to know about the whole thing. I wish I didn't get to know."
"Orla, now you have to take it slowly, okay?" He patted her back reassuringly. "If you miss him so much, why not just forgive him?"
"It's not that easy, I have tried to, but I just can't."
She freed herself from Jackson and shook her head sadly.
Smiling, he took her hand again. "You can do it if you want to do it. If his apologies are sincere, there is no need for you to stall, Orla. You adore this man, you respect him and still love him. If you didn't, you wouldn't let me know you were married and wouldn't even stop me from flirting with you."
"Sophia already told you I was married."
Jackson smiled. She was really adorable and he loved her clean energy. Callan must be a bastard for hurting her.
"Orla, you need your husband, don't live to regret this."
She looked at him for long, longer than she had ever looked at him. He was right. Callan's apologies were sincere, he had done everything he could to get her back, but she had been who'd been holding back.
Callan had been good to her, he made her life so beautiful and supported whatever she did. He was the only one who had ever made her genuinely loved and happy.
The only one who had gone the extra mile just to please her, Callan was the only one who ever showed her the true meaning of what it meant to be truly loved and she didn't want to throw all that through the window.
"I will be leaving tomorrow. I hope I will get some good news about you and your husband soon." Jackson stood to his feet and smoothened his rumpled shirt. "It was satisfying coming here tonight and it was nice meeting you in my lifetime."
"Are you leaving already?" Orla hadn't noticed that he had already stood up.
"I have to pack up, I have a flight by three in the morning."
There was a short silence breezing between them. After a while had passed, she extended her hand out for a handshake. Without words, Jackson gently slid his large hands into her tiny ones and shook her tightly.
"Thank you, Jackson. I wish you a good life."
"You too, have a beautiful life with Mr Barlowe."
Those were his last words before he turned around and walked out of the park through the small gate.
After Jackson left, Orla grabbed her car keys from the bench and hurried towards the gate.
She needed to act right before she regretted her actions.
Driving into the garage, she halted the car and ran into the house.
Callan was there, his hands above his head as he stared at the ceiling, lost in a trance.
Tears dropped from Orla's eyes when she saw her husband, he didn't look healthy. He didn't look like her Callan, he had been so down it was evident even from his stares.
As if he knew she was right behind him, he turned to her. "Orla," he jumped to his feet immediately he sighted her. "Where have you been all day?"
She didn't take her eyes away from him. He cared, he still cared about her and she did too. She pressed her lips together and shook her head.
"Orla?"
She tried to talk, but nothing came out. She stood there, staring at him as the tears poured down.
"Orla?"
"Callan, I am pregnant with our baby."
Even though he already knew that, at that instant, nothing else seemed better than those words.
"Orla," he moved towards her and she stayed still, not moving away from him anymore.
"Our baby, Callan."
Something within him whispered to him that she was moving towards reconciliation. "Orla," he was in front of her, her hand clasped in his.
Heavy tears poured as she stared at the man she loved most in the world. The only man who could ever make her feel the way she was feeling now, so complete.
"Our baby," she relapsed into his embrace.
His warmth filled her, his hands wrapped protectively around her. She had missed this, she had missed them, she had missed him.
Inchmeal, Callan bent down to place soft kisses on her neck.
She tightened her arms around him, savouring every sensation that came with the soft kisses.
Stroking every strand of her hair, he whispered into her ears. "I am sorry, Orla. I'm so sorry, My Wife."
