I hurried to his condo unit, and I immediately knocked on the door when I got there. Jeff opened the door for me, and he greeted me with his usual smile.
My eyes searched for Rexon, and my question was answered when he came out of his room fully dressed. He was carrying a hand carry bag and looked straight into my eyes.
His unpleasant expression killed me. I gasped as he stepped closer to me, and without saying a word, he dropped the hand-carry bag at my feet.
"Carry that to my car." His voice was cold as ice.
I just looked at him as he exited the condo. Jeff offered some help, but I strongly rejected him. Even though the weight of the bag was not a joke, I still tried to handle it. Like me, some of their assistants also carry their belongings.
Skye's personal assistant gave me a small smile before glancing down at what I was carrying. "Can you carry it?" she asked. There were only four of us in the elevator because Rexon was already there.
"Yeah, just a little heavy," I said.
"I'm Feli," she introduced herself.
"Cherry," I answered.
"Nice meeting you, Cherry. I'm Porsche and she is Mayla." The two also introduced themselves to me.
"Nice to meet you too!" I smiled at them.
"You're the new P.A. of Rexon, right?" Feli asked me.
I nodded. I felt awkwardly nervous as the three of them checked me from head to toe.
"It's good Rexon agreed to have an assistant. He doesn't want someone to tail him all the time," Mayla said.
"Yes, Rexon is so mysterious and he had a strong appeal to women. Every girl who applied for that position end up falling in love with him and they become possessive so he fired them immediately." Porsche sighed.
I barely smiled at that and wiped the sweat on my forehead.
"So if I were you, if you want to stay as his personal assistant, don't ever fall for him because you will surely get hurt," Porsche added.
"We're fine. We can't be fired because we're not his P.A.," Feli giggled.
I just laughed and swallowed one hard to lessen the thunder in my heart.
"Are you really her personal assistant?" Porsche looked at me again. I barely backed away from her because of the closeness of her face to mine.
"Yes," I whispered.
"You look like a model. Your height is good and your body is curvy," she said to me and squeezed my waist a little.
I couldn't help but blush.
"But I know what those guys want in girls." Then I looked down at my chest.
"You're beautiful, anyway." She nodded while looking at the door. I could no longer answer because the elevator door had already opened.
I reached for Rexon, who was in front of the open hood of his car. He barely glanced at me. I chose to put his gear in the backseat before I rode to the front.
Later on, he slammed the hood of the car and wiped his hand with a rag. I couldn't help but watch him as he did that.
He was not wearing his leather jacket. Instead, he was dressed in bleach jeans and a white V-neck shirt. Nothing was too special with his wet brown hair. His eyes narrowed, and he tilted his head, the crescent overhead reflected in the curve of his lips.
But when he glanced at me from the outside, I avoided him. I also feel my back heat up from my seat.
I noticed that Jeff and the rest of the band had a driver. So I turned to Rexon, who was already sitting next to me. I would like to ask why he was the only one without a driver, but I was preceded by shame.
I just leaned back quietly in my seat after I hugged the seatbelt to my body. I closed my eyes as the car rolled forward.
I don't know where we're going. I don't want to ask, even to open a conversation. So I just chose to focus on the road, wear a headset and listened to a song on my cellphone.
I heard a deep sigh coming from him, which made my heart beat faster. I closed my eyes while listening to the song, but I wasn't asleep. I just didn't want him to have a chance to talk to me, but I still couldn't stop myself from falling asleep.
I woke up when I heard the door shut. I looked around, and I was amazed at what I saw.
No one told me to get out of the car. The sunrise was a spectacular display of vibrant hues. I drew a deep breath and smiled.
I feel the soft sand greeted me. I let my eyes wander the surface, lingering briefly on the turquoise color of the sea.
"Beautiful," I whispered.
I looked around, and I saw him coming out of a hotel. He was now carrying his hand-carry bag. Like Feli, Mayla, and Porsche, I can also see the amazement on their faces.
"It's so beautiful here!" exclaimed Porsche.
"It's my second time here," Feli commented.
"I can't wait to soak on the sea. I will prepare my swimsuit!" Mayla said.
"Girls, let's go inside," Jeff interrupted our conversation and immediately put his arm around me.
I can see how Feli raised an eyebrow at me because of what Jeff did.
We went straight inside the hotel. Skye and Rexon were together in one suit, while Zach and Jeff were on the other side. Because their room was just opposite each other, Jeff went straight to Rexon's room without removing his arm around me.
"Dude, what is going on? Are you two dating?" Skye sat down with us on the couch. My gaze flew to where Rexon was, and he was at the bar table, pouring wine into his glass.
"Think what you want to think." Jeff had no hesitation when he answered before bursting into laughter.
I could feel the redness rise to both my cheeks as Rexon looked at us. I thought he would say something, but he was silent and quietly sipped the wine from his glass like before.
"What if Jeff court you, Cherry, will you give him a chance?" Skye sat up and glanced at Rexon for a moment.
I was immediately taken aback because of his on-the-spot question. I immediately felt Jeff's grip on me tightened, so I swallowed.
"I'm perfectly sure about that," Jeff answered, so I smiled a little.
"Wow, is that true, Cherry?!" Skye was obviously intrigued, so he arranged to sit down.
Again, I was speechless. I can't find an answer. The cold sweat drenched my forehead. Should I answer that question?
"You don't have to answer his goddamn question, Cherry," Rexon said to me.
He locked his hand in front of the table and talked a better game he knows. And I know it's a part of the game, so I'd better not just answer that.
"Don't be pressured," Skye said, laughing.
Jeff looked down at me before removing his arm around me. "Don't take him seriously. He's just kidding," he whispered to me.
I raised my head to Jeff, who was smiling broadly at me. "You're blushing." He smiled, squeezing my cheek slightly.
We were both shocked when someone threw a throw pillow at Jeff, so I immediately walk away from him as he rushed Skye to punch him.
Meanwhile, I turned my gaze to Rexon. "Follow me to my room," he commanded.
I followed him with my gaze while he was carrying the glass of brandy. I cleared my throat first before I said goodbye to Jeff and Skye. I also spared my step towards his room.
I didn't hesitate to knock because the door was already opened. I went inside, and I immediately closed the door. I found him standing in front of the window with his two palms resting on the windowsill. I couldn't help but sigh as I stared at his broad shoulders.
But before I could even look behind him, he faced me and looked straight at me.
"Jeff is a certified womanizer. I don't like the idea of letting him courting you," he said in a low rough voice.
I gasped in frustration. I can't figure out what he's going to imply. I don't understand who he's concerned with. Is it me or Jeff?
"Jeff is kind and I don't see anything wrong with that. He's kinda playful but he's a gentleman. Not like someone I know," I answered directly.
He first drained the contents of his glass and noisily landed it on the side table. I swallowed because he didn't seem to like my answer.
