Leo saw right through Sunny's thoughts—she was such a fool.
Did she really think breaking up would solve everything?
He was both angry and helpless, yet couldn't bear to scold her.
After all, to truly love someone, it takes immense courage to say "let go."
He knew Sunny wasn't just bluffing; she might actually leave him alone in despair.
"Don't mention breaking up so casually. Got it?" Leo's voice deepened, each word carrying unshakable resolve.
Sunny felt flustered and didn't dare to speak further.
She treasured this rare moment alone with him—if the day of parting ever truly came, at least she could comfort herself with the memory of having had him.
Leo brought in a bowl of oatmeal yogurt and a glass of water, sitting opposite her and watching intently as she ate.
Sunny looked up to find him leaning on the table, chin resting on his arm, his gaze locked on her, making her cheeks flush.
"Have you eaten?" She asked, feeling embarrassed eating alone.
"I'm not hungry. Eat more," Leo realized he was staring too hard and stood up. "I'll call Blake. Take your time."
"Okay," Sunny silently breathed a sigh of relief.
Blake sat grimly in his office.
Richard's despicable tactics had enraged him—using a scapegoat to evade blame, his audacity was beyond belief.
As the black sheep of the Royal Pack, he exploited his aging parents as a shield, striking at Blake's vulnerabilities.
Blake seethed, fantasizing about reducing Richard to a cripple.
Upon answering Leo's call, Blake's expression softened slightly.
"How's Sunny? Seriously hurt?" Blake inquired, unaware of her condition.
"Just superficial injuries, nothing major," Leo exhaled, his heart finally easing after a night of worry.
"Thank goodness," Blake echoed his relief.
"I can't bear to think what if she..." Leo's voice trembled.
"It won't happen. Keep an eye on her. Don't let anything else happen." Blake instructed.
Leo nodded. "Will do. How's Olivia's situation? Richard's surely scheming more mischief."
"Olivia's safe for now. He thinks he's off the hook? Dream on. We'll never let him go," Blake's tone was icy.
"Even with multiple scapegoats, he's still a murderer!" Leo gritted his teeth.
"Get clues from Sunny. I'll deal with the kidnappers," Blake decided to take matters into his own hands.
"She won't talk," Leo sighed.
"Why not?" Blake frowned. Didn't Sunny want revenge?
"She's afraid I'll get hurt... this idiot," Leo said, frustration laced with tenderness.
"Looks like she really loves you," Blake remarked, understanding—after enduring her own hell, Sunny wouldn't want her lover to risk it.
"We can find clues without her. Those guys won't get away," Blake sneered.
"Blake, please! When you catch them, beat them to a pulp!" Leo pleaded.
"Rest assured. If Richard can play dirty, I'll be even harsher," Blake assured, ending the call.
A call from an unknown number came in.
Blake answered warily—it was Emily.
"Blake, I've got incriminating videos of Richard. They might help."
"Send them over," Blake replied cooly.
After watching the video, Blake's expression shifted. Emily had risked her life to capture Richard meeting the kidnappers—this evidence was a godsend.
"Where did you get this?" he demanded.
"I followed him today and shot it. I didn't know who else to turn to," Emily's voice quivered with anxiety.
Living undercover with Richard, she lived in constant fear.
"Perfect timing," Blake's attitude toward her softened unusually.
Emily fell silent, then laughed bitterly. "It's been a while since you praised me. It's strange yet familiar."
"If we weren't enemies, I'd always consider you family," Blake said earnestly.
"Am I worthy? I've done so much wrong..." Emily choked up.
"Your help now is enough," Blake assured.
"Alright! If you'll accept me, we're family!" Emily smiled through her tears.
At last, she felt a flicker of warmth.
"Got to go. I'll analyze the video further," Blake hung up and zoomed in on the footage.
Though some faces were blurred, the clear shots of the kidnappers with Richard were enough to seal their fate.
Meanwhile, Richard had no idea his so-called loyal daughter had become the knife stabbing him in the back.
Jessica recently landed the lead role in a new drama, starring opposite the male lead Harley.
The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
Since Leo's gradual withdrawal from the spotlight, Harley had become a top-tier star with his stunning looks, textbook acting, and clean image, commanding endless offers and soaring popularity.
At the filming launch, Harley and Jessica sized each other up silently.
