My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 499

Ch. 499 / 530 May 01, 2026

Third Person's POV

"Don't blame her. She had no choice back then……" Moira sighed softly, fearing that Sunny might harbor resentment towards Olivia. "She was too naive in her youth. Deceived by someone in high school, she had you and had to leave because of certain circumstances……"

"Did she end up in jail?" Seeing Moira's hesitation, Sunny asked directly.

Moira was taken aback, her gaze softening as she looked at Sunny. She gently asked, "Sunny, do you know about all this? Who told you? It couldn't have been Olivia, could it?"

"It wasn't her," Sunny said, her eyes cast down.

"I thought as much. But aside from her, who else could it be? In this city, our social circle is so small, and there are very few people who know about Olivia's past……" Moira frowned anxiously.

"Aunt Moira, it doesn't matter who said it. Right now, I just want to learn more about her; otherwise, I can't find peace," Sunny said with a wry smile.

Moira paused for a moment. "You…… you're calling me 'aunt' now? I'm still not used to it!"

"Given the true relationship, calling you Mom just feels odd," Sunny explained.

"Call me whatever you like. We will always be family," Moira said indifferently.

"Although I'm not your biological daughter, you remarried and raised me…… I used to be so willful and said many hurtful things. Please forgive me. I won't be like that anymore," Sunny's eyes welled up with tears, filled with remorse.

"What are you talking about? Having raised you, how could I bear to give you away? I'm not as selfless as you think. I just didn't want you to be bullied. It's true that since having my own children these past few years, my attention towards you has waned……"

Moira's heart was filled with mixed emotions. Hearing Sunny's sudden formal words, she felt out of place.

"No, I will always be grateful to you! No matter what I call you, I will honor and take care of you for my entire life," Sunny said resolutely. "From now on, I will work harder and earn more money to provide for you and her."

"Your words are enough. Do you remember how you spent your first paycheck entirely on gifts for me? I was so moved back then!" Moira's eyes turned red.

"It was the least I could do. By the way, Leo and I are doing well. He knows about my mother and hasn't proposed a breakup," Sunny recalled her boyfriend's accepting attitude, feeling warmth in her heart.

"From the way he acted during his last visit home, it was clear he genuinely cares for you. Sunny, you're luckier than your aunt, to have found such a good person……" Moira remarked with emotion.

"As for your mother's matters, let's not delve deeper. Everyone makes mistakes in their youth," Moira said, wishing to shield Sunny from further truths.

"Alright, I won't ask. She's currently in detention, and I'd like to visit her," Sunny replied.

"What? Where is she being held? When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Moira's expression changed dramatically.

"It happened two days ago. She's just in temporary custody, not yet sentenced."

"What did she do now? Why didn't you inform me? Sunny, do you know the reason?"

"I know. She's been wrongly accused."

"Can she be released?"

Sunny gazed out the window and murmured, "I'll find a way."

After seeing Moira off, as Sunny was about to leave, Kara and several burly men approached her aggressively.

Sunny fearlessly met their hostile gaze.

"You little tramp, think you can just walk away after throwing water? Today, I'll teach you a lesson!" Kara screeched.

Sunny sneered, "If you dare disrespect my family again, next time it won't be just water."

"Go!" At Kara's command, a burly man lurched forward with a vicious grin, raising his hand to slap her.

Sunny reacted swiftly, delivering a powerful kick to his vulnerable spot.

The man let out a earsplitting cry, clutching his groin and rolling on the ground in agony.

"You've maimed my brother? I'll make you pay!" Kara realized too late that Sunny was no pushover.

She rushed forward to retaliate but was intimidated by a single glance from Sunny.

"Hurry up and take him to the hospital. If you're too late, he might really be left childless," Sunny threw down the gauntlet and strode to her car.

In the rearview mirror, she saw Kara frantically attending to her brother. Sunny couldn't help but muse that the world was full of absurd people and situations.

Meanwhile, Richard called Patricia to invite her to dinner.

Patricia gladly accepted—she had been wanting to discuss her younger son's future plans.

At the restaurant, Richard waved his mother over. Patricia approached with a somewhat stern expression.

"Mom, have a seat. It's been ages since we've met like this," Richard said with a ingratiating smile.

"What's this sudden dinner invitation about?" Patricia asked curtly.

"Mom, don't be upset with me. Blake and I have a strained relationship; we end up arguing every time we meet. In the future, it's better for me to meet you outside the family home," Richard explained hastily.

"You two brothers are truly a handful!" Patricia sighed.

"By the way, Mom, the person who killed Marc years ago has been caught," Richard dropped a bombshell.

Patricia's face instantly turned pale.

She asked, "When?"

Richard knew Blake would never have told Patricia about this. His dedication to family had become his greatest weakness.

This nephew of his was ruthless and calculating in external affairs, yet when it came to family, he always prioritized kinship.

Richard couldn't decide whether this was a virtue or a flaw.
