My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 504

Ch. 504 / 530 May 01, 2026

Third Person's POV

Sunny's fingers clenched beneath the covers, her expression momentarily freezing.

She couldn't quite feign indifference, despite her mental preparation.

"Is that so? Then let's do as Patricia says. I don't want to put you in a difficult position, nor do I have the face to meet your family!" she said, striving to steady her voice.

"Sorry, I can't reason with Patricia right now. She's very upset and I can't bear to worry her at her age," Leo said, his voice laced with guilt and self-reproach.

Sunny let out a faint laugh. "Don't be like that. I've known deep down that our fate has truly run its course. If we can't change this reality, then let's accept it calmly."

Hearing her nonchalance, Leo's eyes widened in surprise—could she truly have decided to let go?

"This is just a temporary separation. Once the truth about your mother comes to light, I believe Patricia will accept you," Leo said in a low voice.

Sunny nodded, forcing a smile. "Don't worry. Even if we part, I won't seek another man. I'll wait for you."

Unwilling to burden him with worry or let him think her resignation too easy, she met his gaze steadily.

Leo had never seen such brightness and resolve in her eyes. A profound sense of security washed over him. No matter the distance between them, this woman's heart would always hold him in the most vital place.

Sunny's eyes grew moist, but she held back tears, not wanting to cast a shadow over his mood.

"I think I'll look for a new place to stay. I might not work at your company anymore. I'll find another job. Until the truth emerges, let's keep a low profile to avoid upsetting your family further."

Sunny sighed softly. She had anticipated this step long ago, just not so soon, so abruptly.

"Did you make these decisions a long time ago?" Leo asked, pained by her feigned strength.

"Yes, I thought it through on the day you rescued me, Leo. Loving you has been the happiest thing in my life," Sunny whispered.

Though she'd resolved not to be sentimental, she needed him to understand these things—now was the time to speak, before it was too late.

"Fool!" Leo sat on the bed, pulled her into his arms, and pressed his lips to her forehead. "I know, and so do I."

"I used to mock people for taking love too seriously. I always thought the person I loved most would be myself. But then I met you and realized how foolish my old beliefs were." Sunny said with a self-deprecating smile.

Leo had never been one for sentimental talk.

Sometimes, after delivering lines in a script, he'd get goosebumps.

Yet now, listening to her, he felt an insatiable hunger for more.

"How important am I to you?" Leo suddenly asked hoarsely.

Sunny bit her lip. "More than my own life, Leo. You're like a poison to me. After falling for you, other men leave me cold. I'm completely addicted, and only you can be the antidote."

"Quite the poet. I'm loving it." Leo laughed, though his voice betrayed emotion.

Sunny stiffened, then pushed him away indignantly. "You're still making fun of me? Forget it, I'm packing up and moving out now."

Seeing her pouting, her fair cheeks flushed with anger, Leo's throat tightened.

As she began to get out of bed, he yanked her back into his arms and kissed her fiercely.

Sunny's mind went blank, but she soon surrendered to his passion.

Leo didn't know what hadcome over him, but he was determined not to let her go so easily.

"Wait... Leo, you forgot something."

Sunny regained a shred of sanity and urgently reminded him.

"No, I didn't." He silenced her concerns with a single sentence, reclaiming her breath with another kiss.

Sunny's eyes widened in shock—too late to stop him.

The scene that unfolded was so intimate that even the sunlight outside seemed to dim in modesty.

As if on cue, the previously calm weather shifted.

A gust of wind howled, rattling the windows. Dark clouds swiftly gathered, blanketing the bustling city.

Muffled thunder growled in the distance, and the air grew thick with heat.

Sunny and Leo lost themselves in their passion, forgetting their identities and their past. They surrendered to the moment, embracing their descent together until their ardor was spent.

Rain began to fall, drifting into the room. The billowing curtains revealed silhouettes in motion.

After a long while, the room fell still, though their breathing remained labored.
