I Still Hate You

Chapter 19

Ch. 19 / 34 Sep 27, 2024

"Don't do this, Ethan," I whispered as he broke our kiss. I was shaking with anger and helplessness. My body felt hot. He untucked my shirt and slid his hand inside, then caressed my body.

"Why not?" the bastard smirked and pinched my nipples. He didn't care to look at the hatred in my eyes.

"Stop that! There are people out there. They could walk in and see us any moment. What the hell is the matter with you?" I scolded him. His smile only got bigger.

"So it's okay if I do this in private?" he winked and let go of me.

"That's not what I meant!" I said irritably. "Why are you so annoying?" I asked. I frantically tried to tuck my shirt in before someone came this way and saw my disheveled clothes. "Shouldn't you go back to your fiancée? I bet she is wondering where you are," I snapped.

"She knows about us," he said nonchalantly.

"I don't know what kind of relationship you have with her, but one thing for sure, I am no one's second choice," I said determinedly.

"It's not like that. There are things I can't tell you yet, but I can assure you, Melissa and I don't have feelings for each other. I will tell you everything one day," Ethan said.

"I am not interested, so just save it," I snarled.

He gave me an impatient look as if to tell me I was being ridiculous.

"Corey, you out here?"

I stepped back as I heard Jacob calling. Shit, what would he think if he sees me with Ethan like this?

"I'm going to get a hotel room here. Wait for me at the lobby after the party," Ethan said and waited for my answer.

"Excuse me? I don't think so," I protested.

"Listen, Price. If you don't do as I say, there will be consequences. I can ruin your entire career. You don't know the kind of powers I possess," Ethan said in a harsh tone.

I knew how powerful he was and what kind of connections he had. He could make sure I never get a job anywhere in the area, and that was unfair.

"Are you threatening me?" I looked at him angrily. I didn't think he'd resort to this. But what did I expect? This was Ethan Miller. He takes what he wants and gets his way.

"Yes. I believe I am," he grinned.

"You bastard..."

"Corey! There you are!" Jacob interrupted me before I started to throw a fit. He walked towards us and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "I've been looking all over for you. What are you doing out here with...uh...your boss?" Jacob looked at me suspiciously.

"I had something important to tell Corey about work, but we are done here," Ethan said before I had the chance to speak. I released a sigh of relief as I didn't have to come up with an excuse.

"Great. Let's go back inside then," Jacob said. "I'll go and get us a table in there. Come join me." With that, he walked back to the ballroom.

"Yeah, I'm coming," I fidgeted nervously. Ethan's behavior shook me to my core, and I wanted to act casual, but his words had affected me. My face was still red. I proceeded to follow Jacob but Ethan grabbed my shoulder from behind.

"Don't forget what I said. Come meet me in the lobby. Do not make me wait," he said in a hoarse whisper the let go of my shoulder. I winced but didn't say anything to him and walked away faster.

Fuck...this wasn't good. Ethan was becoming more and more ruthless. He didn't care what I wanted, nor did he want to listen to me.

I spend the rest of the evening in a daze. I couldn't stop thinking about Ethan. Why did he want me to meet him in the hotel lobby? What did he want from me?

I stole a few glances at him, but he didn't look back at me. He was invested in a conversation with Melissa and then Jacob's father. He didn't pay any attention to me. But for some reason, it made me even more anxious.

The party was soon over. I didn't see Ethan anywhere else. Maybe he forgot about me and left with Melissa, I hoped.

My phone vibrated, so I looked down.

I am at the lobby, Ethan texted.

Shit...he hadn't forgotten about me after all. I jumped as I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Jeez...why are you so jumpy?" Jacob chuckled.

"N...nothing. What's up?" I asked.

"Wanna come over to my place for a nightcap?" Jacob smirked.

"I can't," I smiled nervously. I knew I couldn't avoid Ethan tonight, and the last thing I wanted was to give him a reason to screw me over.

"Are you sure?" Jacob gave me a sad look.

Sorry Jacob, as much as I loved your tiny dick ramming into me, I couldn't piss my boss off, I said in my mind. "Yeah. I'm a little tired. I have to wake up early tomorrow." I lied to him. Tomorrow was Sunday, so I had nowhere to be.

I managed to make an excuse and convinced Jacob not to walk me to my car. I said goodbye to him and headed to the lobby.

It wasn't hard to spot Ethan Miller standing by the Elevator. I hurried toward him as soon as our eyes met.

"I'm here. What now?" I barked.

He grabbed my arm. "Let's go," he said and pressed the elevator button.

He took me to the 25th floor of the hotel, and we entered his suite. "Don't tell me you rented a presidential suite just to screw around," I laughed.

"Nope. This room is always available for me to reserve," he simply said. Such a showoff!

He took his jacket off and went over to the table that had a bottle of whiskey. He poured some in a cup and held it in front of me. "Here, drink some. I'm sure you'll need it," he said. His facial expression was serious and somewhat scary.

I took the drink without hesitation and chugged it.

"Great. This should help you relax," he said.

"Why did you bring me here?" I cleared my throat and asked.

"Why do you think, Corey?" Ethan asked and stared at me intently.

"How should I know?" My voice shook.

He suddenly grabbed my collar and pulled me closer. "I'll give you a hint. I didn't bring you here to discuss business," he growled and pulled me in to kiss me.
