Saturday came quick.
It was just what I needed after working all week and stressing about a new client. Ethan had been equally busy, so he didn't have time to bother me, much to my relief. After that phone call, I felt flustered every time I looked at him. I kept imagining his hands all over my body just like he said I would.
A night out with Jacob will help me feel distracted, I thought.
I put on a deep red shirt and paired it with a black vest and dress pants as Jacob told me it was a semi-formal party. Then I waited for him to arrive.
He came to pick me up at 8 as he promised, and we headed to the party.
It was held at some fancy hotel called The Plaza. Ten years ago, I couldn't have imagined myself attending a party like this but look at me now.
"You look great," Jacob complimented me.
"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself," I chuckled. He tied his long hair back and wore a formal jacket paired with a white shirt and black slacks.
"So, what's this party about?" I asked him.
"My dad throws this lavish party every year with his business associates. It's kind of boring most of the time so I sneak out of it after a few minutes or so, but I figured this time it'd be tolerable if you were there," he smirked.
Soon, we arrived at the party. Jacob pointed at a man wearing a black suit. He was tall and handsome with sprinkles of grey in his thick black hair. "That's my dad. Let me introduce you to him," he said.
"Son, you finally made it," the man remarked when he saw us.
"Hey, dad, this is Corey. The guy I told you about?" Jacob said and introduced us.
"Ah Corey, I heard a lot about you. I'm Anthony Macera," he extended his hand.
I shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you, sir. Thank you for having me," I said politely.
"Feel free to drink or eat anything. Enjoy yourselves," he said.
Jacob nodded, and we walked away.
"Your dad seems a little intimidating," I let out a nervous laugh.
"He is alright. As long as you don't piss him off," Jacob winked. I looked around the party full of strangers. Everyone looked so formal and rigid. I felt a little out of place.
"No fucking way," Jacob said all of a sudden.
"What?" I looked at him, worried.
"What is HE doing here?" Jacob asked and pointed toward the entrance. I looked in the direction of his finger and felt my blood pressure rise.
Ethan Miller.
He walked in looking dazzling in a tuxedo. Next to him was that girl Melissa. The one he called his fiancée. She was wearing a floor-length low cut gown. Together they looked like a celebrity couple. Perfect for each other.
Then he saw me. His eye turned huge with surprise at first, but then his lips curled into a small smile. He took Melissa's hands and approached Jacob and me.
"Corey! What are you doing here?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah, what brings you here, Corey?" Melissa raised her eyebrows.
"I'm here with Jacob," I said.
"What are you doing here?" Jacob asked Ethan.
"He is my fiancé. If you showed any interest in my life, you would've known this," Melissa said irritably.
"Whatever, Mel," Jacob waved his hand dismissively.
I was confused. "Wait...you know each other?" I asked Jacob.
"Melissa is my half-sister. We don't really see each other often. But who would've thought Corey's boss would be engaged to her," Jacob looked at Ethan and smirked. "Small world, eh?"
"Small world, indeed," Ethan remarked. His eyes were fixated on me the whole time. I fidgeted nervously. I came here to escape the thoughts of him but here he was, standing in front of me looking like a whole meal.
"How about we grab some drinks and chat?" Ethan offered.
"Sounds good. Corey?" Jacob looked at me and asked. I had no choice but to nod in agreement.
After a few drinks, I was starting to feel at ease. After a while, Melissa and Jacob talked quietly among themselves while Ethan and I gazed at each other. The atmosphere was slightly awkward.
"I'm gonna go to men's room," I said and excused myself from the table. I needed a breather from these people. I headed out back then stopped walking when I saw an empty terrace. I pushed the glass door open and stood by the railings to breathe in some fresh air.
I felt a warm hand in the back of my neck and shivered. "Ah...Jacob, I was just about to..."
"It's me," Ethan's smooth voice rung in my ear. I felt his soft lips pressed on the nape of my neck, and all the hair in my arms stood up.
"Ethan...uh...you shouldn't do this right now," I whispered quietly as he held my throat gently and kissed my neck.
"And here I am doing it," he wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly, so I don't escape.
"Jacob might see this and get the wrong idea," I squirmed to set myself free.
"You think I give a fuck about Jacob?" he growled.
"You surely care about Melissa?" I started to feel hot and bothered as he slowly started to grind behind me. I felt his hard cock through my pants. I started to sweat.
"She knows about us, and she doesn't give a fuck about me either," he said. He cupped his hand between my legs and chuckled lightly. "Look how hard you are already. I'll bet you are aroused enough to come from my slightest touch," he said in a deep and husky voice.
"You...you're wrong!" I protested.
"Am I, though?" he asked and grabbed my shoulder, then turned me around. His blue eyes were dark and full of lust. "It's terrifying how much I like you Corey, but I am tired of hiding it," he said and grazed my chin with his thumb.
"Ethan I..."
"Shh...I know you aren't ready to accept it, but I won't stop trying until you do," he said and kissed me.
His tongue swirled inside my mouth. It was hot, and he tasted like whiskey. I let myself be swayed by him for the hundredth time.
