"Get away from him!"
Jacob gasped and pulled away from me. I squinted my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Was Ethan really here?
"What the hell are you doing here? DANNY!" Jacob yelled.
"Danny is indisposed at the moment. It's just you and me, buddy," Ethan snarled.
"So you found us. Now what? Breaking and entering is illegal," Jacob said.
"Then call the police, jackass. I wonder what they have to say about your 'very illegal' kidnapping," Ethan said.
Ethan turned his eyes and looked at me. He had a weird look on his face. It was mixture of worry and anger. Why was he angry at me? I am the victim in this situation!
Ethan pulled a gun out of his pocket.
"Whoa, dude...take it easy," Jacob put his hand up.
"Yeah, Ethan, put that away!" I exclaimed.
"Untie Corey, right now," Ethan ordered. He looked calm but downright scary. I forgot how intimidating he could be when he wants to be. Jacob ought to shit his pants by now.
"Right away," Jacob said and took his key out, then unlocked my hands. I got quickly then pushed him to the side. I ran towards Ethan then stood behind him.
"You got what you wanted. Now what?" Jacob asked. "If you walk out here with Corey, there will be consequences. You know who my father is, don't you? He will make you both disappear," Jacob hissed.
"Then I guess I should just kill you. Might as well, right?" Ethan smirked.
I stared at him, horrified. He doesn't really mean that! Ethan Miller was not a murderer.
"Stop! Don't shoot!" Melissa's voice echoed through the room. Oh, she is here too? What is this? A party at my expanse?
"Don't get involved, Mel," Ethan said.
"I agree. Get the fuck out of here, sis. And call dad on your way out," Jacob suggested.
"No one needs to call anyone. I've already spoken to daddy and made a deal with him," Melissa said.
"Oh great...more deals. Can I stay out of this one?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, no, because you are part of this weird love triangle now," Melissa smirked. "I asked daddy to spare your life, and he agreed not to come after you again. But with one condition."
"What would that be?" Ethan narrowed his eyes.
"Corey would have to quit his job at your company, and you guys can never see each other again," Melissa stopped talking and looked at us.
"I don't fucking think so," Ethan replied sharply.
"Ethan, please...let Corey go. It'll make things a lot easier for everyone," Melissa said.
"Excuse me, don't I have any say on this?" I finally spoke. "You guys are talking about me like I'm not even in this room," I winced.
"Sorry love. I'm taking you away from here," Ethan glared at Jacob.
"Put the gun down, Ethan. You're not gonna shoot me," Jacob said slowly.
"Try me," Ethan's voice was low and menacing.
Melissa put her hand on Ethan's shoulders. "Ethan. This isn't worth it. You'll be jeopardizing both yours and Corey's life," she said.
"I don't care. He is coming with me," Ethan replied in reckless anger. He reminded me of the young hot-blooded Ethan. The one I fell in love with back in high school. "Let's go, Corey. I made some arrangements," he told me.
I let out a nervous cough. Dread washed over me for some reason. I didn't like the way Ethan was acting. "Can't I just go home? I'm prepared to forget all this happened as long as Jacob doesn't come after me again." I said.
"Don't argue with me Corey, I'm going to be the one who'll decide what happens from here on out," he said.
I'm not gonna lie. His authoritative tone was turning me on a little.
"Don't go with him, Corey. Stay with me. I'm sorry I kidnapped you!" Jacob exclaimed.
"Shut the fuck up!" Ethan roared.
"Ethan..." Melissa started to intervene but stopped talking when she saw how angry Ethan was. It was as if he was in a daze.
Ethan grabbed my arm then backed out of the room slowly, leaving Jacob and Melissa behind. He slammed the door shut, and we both hurried outside. He led me to his car then started driving once I settled inside.
The silence between us was unbearable, but he didn't say a word to me. I cleared my throat and decided to speak first. "Where are we going? Aren't you going to call the police?" I asked.
"The police can't help us," he said.
"What do you mean they can't help us? I was kidnapped!" I looked at him with shock.
"Anthony is powerful and rich. He is in the Mafia. I'm sure he will figure out a way to turn the police against us, so it's not worth the risk. I'm not calling anyone," Ethan said gruffly.
"Then what are we doing? Am I just gonna go home and pretend like this never happened?" I said irritably.
"Nope. I have a better plan," Ethan finally smiled.
"What's that?" I looked at him curiously. His face looked a lot more relaxed all of a sudden.
"You'll see. Have some patience," Ethan said.
Excuse me? I was just kidnapped and assfucked my kidnapper in the name of survival, and this jerk is asking me to have patience? I thought angrily. I was about to snap at him but held my tongue. He did come to rescue me, so I should be more grateful.
He kept driving for what felt like hours. He was getting farther and farther from the city. A long way from my house. Where the hell was he taking me?
He finally slowed down and stopped in front of a heavy metal gate. He picked up his phone and called someone.
"I'm here. Open the gate," he instructed. I heard a loud buzzing sound then the gate opened, so he drove inside.
It was a large open area that looked like an oversized parking lot. A small helicopter stood by itself.
"What's going on?" I asked. Something told me Ethan was up to no good.
"Let's just say we are going on a spontaneous vacation," he smirked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Anthony may be powerful, but I'm no small fry either. I have a few tricks up my sleeves too. I'm taking you far away from here. From now on, you're going to be living with me. No one will know where you are. I'll make sure it looks like you simply just disappeared," Ethan said and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
Well shit. It looks like I just escaped from the Lion's Den and jumped straight into the Shark's mouth.
