“We’re taking this to the jury.” Lucy was determined.
“But will they even believe us?” Carlos said.
“Ivy basically just admitted she sabotaged us!” Lucy almost screamed.
“But we can’t prove it.” Betty interjected. “Not without evidence. And even if we could, would the jury care? They’re here to judge routines, not play detective.”
“So, what?” Sasha threw up her hands, her voice rising. “We just let her get away with it? She’s probably gloating right now, thinking she’s already won! How are we supposed to fix this? The judges saw the fall.”
Carlos clenched his jaw. “Lucy’s right. This isn’t just about Ivy anymore. It’s about how we’re going to face the jury and the audience. They all saw it. They’re expecting us to fold.”
“We’re not folding,” Stacey said firmly, stepping forward. Her voice cut through the group’s despair like a whip. “We regroup, figure out what to say, and we will ask the jury for another try.”
Betty lifted her head, her expression flickering between frustration and determination. “Are you nuts? That won’t work! We’d need a miracle for them to give us another chance.”
“Then we give them a miracle,” Stacey shot back, her tone bitter but fierce. “We don’t let Ivy or anyone else define this team. We finish what we started—tape sabotage or not.”
