Fatty Betty's Diary: My Bully's Crush

Inside the Arena

Ch. 87 / 251 Mar 20, 2026

Third-Person POV

Inside the nationals arena, the energy was electric. Teams from across the state were warming up, stretching, practicing stunts. The smell of chalk, sweat, and adrenaline filled the air, and every corner was a whirlwind of activity. Betty could feel the intensity of the competition all around her, the weight of her team’s expectations pressing down on her shoulders.

As the Unseen gathered at the edge of the mat, Ivy and her squad passed by, their matching golden uniforms gleaming under the arena lights. Ivy shot Betty a cold smile, her eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and superiority.

“Break a leg, Betty,” she called, her tone sickly sweet. “You’ll need all the luck you can get.”

Betty held her ground, meeting Ivy’s gaze with unwavering confidence. “We don’t need luck, Ivy. We’ve got heart.”

Ivy’s smile faltered slightly, but she quickly recovered, tossing her hair as she walked away. “Keep telling yourself that. It won’t save you when you’re up against the real competition.”

Stacey stepped beside Betty, rolling her eyes. “Ignore her. She’s all talk.”

Betty let out a breath, grateful for Stacey’s support. “Yeah. She’s not going to throw us off today.”

As their time drew closer, Betty gathered her team for one last pep talk. “This is it, guys. We’re here because we worked for it, because we believed in each other. Let’s go out there and show everyone what we’re made of.”

The lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the arena as the music began. Betty took a deep breath, centering herself as the first beat dropped. In perfect synchronization, the Unseen launched into their routine, their movements sharp and precise. Every jump, every flip, every stunt was a testament to the hours they’d spent pushing each other to be better, stronger.

As the routine neared its climax, the team moved into their final, most difficult sequence—a complex pyramid formation with Betty at the very top. Her heart raced as she felt her teammates’ hands steadying her, lifting her higher.

She held her position, extending her arms, her face breaking into a triumphant smile.steadying herself as she extended her arms, her face breaking into a smile. In that moment, she felt unstoppable, as if nothing could bring them down.

But then, something was wrong.

A hand beneath her shifted, trembling slightly, and she felt the delicate balance of the formation teetering. Panic surged through her as the pyramid began to wobble. Gasps rippled through the audience.

“Hold it!” someone from below shouted, but it was too late. Betty felt her footing slip, and for a heart-stopping moment before she fell she glimpsed Ivy in the crowd. She was grinning with delight.
