A SURPRISE

Ch. 311 / 312 Apr 03, 2026

The guests, still applauding and cheering for them. Antonio's Mexican parents, the fisherman, and his wife, were clapping and cheering proudly while his wife dabbed at her eyes, overwhelmed with joy. Even Hinata, who had been watching quietly, joined the applause, her smile bittersweet but genuinely happy for the lovebirds. Grateful to Angela for her life. ****** The joyous wedding celebration reached its peak as Angela prepared to toss her bouquet. Laughter and chatter filled the air, the guests eager to see who would catch the symbol of future love. Angela turned her back to the crowd, lifted the bouquet high, and with a quick glance over her shoulder, threw it into the air. The bouquet arced beautifully, and with a soft thud, it landed right in Courtney's hands without her trying. Gasps and cheers erupted from the onlookers. Courtney, with a mischievous smile, turned and walked toward Antonio's best man, Leonardo, who had been watching the scene. Not actually the scene but Courtney in particular. She looked like a fairy goddess in her outfit. As soon as he saw her approaching, his breath stopped for a second. Courtney stood in front of him, holding the bouquet close to her chest, her eyes twinkling. "Well, Leonardo," she said playfully, "what do you say? Think I could be the next bride?" Leonardo's face flushed a deep red, clearly caught off guard. He blinked, unable to hide his surprise, and stammered, "I-Is that... even possible?" Courtney's smile widened. Without a word, she leaned forward and kissed him unexpectedly. The crowd let out an excited cheer, and Leonardo, though frozen in shock, melted into the kiss, his hands finding her waist as he held her close. When they pulled away, breathless, he could only stare at her in awe. "I... love you, Courtney," he whispered, his heart racing. Courtney placed a finger on his lips. "I know". Angela and Antonio watched the scene unfold with wide smiles. Angela clapped with excitement, while Antonio gave Leonardo a proud pat on the back. As the celebration continued, it was time to cut the giant castle cake. Angela and Antonio stood before the giant cake, hand in hand, with their children eagerly surrounding them. They carefully sliced into the cake and fed each other with laughter and sweetness in their eyes. Just as they shared their first bite, a chorus of giggles broke out. The dance began, each person with his or her partner. Antonio Junior, armed with bubble guns, ambushed his parents, sending streams of colorful bubbles swirling through the air. Angela and Antonio laughed, trying to dodge the playful attack. The scene was chaotic but filled with happiness. Angela, giggling as she stumbled from the onslaught of bubbles, found herself falling slightly unbalanced. Antonio, being distracted by Junior, wasn't fast enough to catch her, she fell into the guard who walked her down the aisle. "Thank ...thank you". She said slowly and stood straight. She was about to ask him questions, but the voice that greeted her scent a chill down her spine. "Be more careful, sister." There's a hint of familiarity in that voice that made her freeze. She blinked, her heart suddenly racing for a very different reason. Slowly, she turned her head, her pulse quickening with every passing second. Antonio, who had been laughing just moments before, stood still now, watching her intently, a small smile on his lips, as if waiting for her to realize. Angela's gaze flicked to Kerry, who was across the room, tears streaming down her face, trying to hold them back. The joy in her eyes was obvious, but it was tinged with something else....something Angela couldn't quite place a hand on. Her instincts told her to go ahead and pull off the dark shades. Her hands trembled as she reached up, he didn't try to stop her, she continued and gently removed the dark sunglasses from the man's face. Her breath caught in her throat. Staring back at her were the familiar eyes of her brother Jace! Different, grown but those eyes! "Jace?" she whispered, her voice barely audible, trying not to lose her mind, feeling dizzy. Jace walked her down the aisle! Her own Jace? He nodded, tears welling up in his own eyes. "It's me, sister." "You...are alive...it's not possible... I ...saw... I saw you..." She broke down in tears. Jace threw his arms around her, as she cried loudly into his chest. The guests watched with quiet awe. Kerry wiped at her face, openly crying now, and even Doris and Courtney looked emotional, holding their breath at the reunion. Angela clung to Jace, her body trembling with the force of her emotions. "I thought... I thought I lost you," she sobbed, her voice cracking with every word. "How? How are you here?"
