Marilyn glanced at Arturo and touched his head. She checked the time and said, "Time to go. I still have work to do."
She got up and picked up Arturo.
She wanted him to have some sleep on the way back.
Malcolm quickly said, "Lynn, let me carry him, please. You'll get tired."
"I'm fine." Marilyn refused and walked out with Arturo in her arms.
She was not tired at all.
She felt very happy when holding Arturo.
Malcolm looked at Marilyn's slender back. She looked fragile, but she walked fast in her high heels.
Malcolm felt pain. He stared at Marilyn as she was gradually disappearing into the distance.
He thought, "Lynn, please wait for me. It will end soon."
Jeannie glanced at Malcolm. Her suspicion was growing bigger and bigger.
"Jeannie, let's go!" Noticing Jeannie's expression, Julian reminded her in a slightly raised voice.
"Oh, okay!" Jeannie regained her senses and walked out.
Malcolm was one step faster than Julian and Jeannie.
His gaze fell directly on Marilyn and Arturo.
Arturo was really tired. He hugged Marilyn's neck and slept soundly.
Marilyn was indeed struggling to carry Arturo in her high heels. But she gritted her teeth and endured it. Life was always difficult for them.
Sometimes Arturo had to film the same advertisement over and over again. She felt very sorry for him.
Marilyn gently patted Arturo's back with a smile. Suddenly, her face darkened as she saw Debbie, Velma, and Sandy standing in front of her.
They all looked at Marilyn with a strange look.
Debbie walked toward Marilyn with a strange smile. Marilyn pursed her lips and slowed down.
Debbie's gorgeous peach-red suit and pure pearl necklace made her look noble and elegant.
But she stared at Marilyn, full of contempt.
She stopped in front of Marilyn. Velma and Sandy stood behind her.
Debbie mocked, "Are you bringing your son to gain sympathy now?"
Malcolm quickly stepped forward and heard Debbie's words.
He put on a cold look.
Julian shook his head resignedly. Why did Debbie find Marilyn an eyesore?
Debbie had been looking for her daughter for more than ten years. How could she not know that Marilyn was her daughter?
Afraid that Debbie would do harm to Marilyn, Jeannie quickened her pace.
"Debbie, what do you mean?" Marilyn looked at Debbie coldly.
"Well," Debbie glanced at the child in Marilyn's arms, "why do you have to take your child with you when you seduce Malcolm?"
"Mrs. Remington shut up." Malcolm stood behind Marilyn and glared at Debbie.
Debbie looked at Malcolm with a frown and said earnestly, "Malcolm, listen to me. Marilyn doesn't know how to behave. She has a child out of wedlock, and now she wants to seduce you..."
"Shut up!" Malcolm shouted and clenched his fists.
People around him felt terrified.
Marilyn covered Arturo's ears when Debbie spoke.
But Arturo had woken up and heard Debbie's words clearly.
He tried to look up, but Marilyn stopped him.
Arturo could feel Marilyn trembling.
His heart ached.
Marilyn glared at Debbie and pursed her lips. The pain in her heart grew.
Nobody had said such words to her.
Malcolm looked at Debbie coldly. "Mrs. Remington, you are also a mother. How can you say such hurtful words? It's not what you think."
Arturo turned red from anger. Seeing this, Malcolm felt great pain.
Arturo was trying his best to protect his mother.
Under Velma's malicious remarks, Debbie had a bad impression of Marilyn.
Debbie sneered, "Malcolm, what did Marilyn do to you? Before Marilyn, you had some affection for Velma. But after Marilyn appeared, you have become a totally different person.
"Velma just told me that Marilyn had a child out of wedlock..."
"What does it have to do with you?" Marilyn suddenly interrupted Debbie with a cold smile. She felt a great pain deep down.
But she managed to hide it away. Her aloof and cold appearance was her defense.
Hearing Marilyn's words, Jeannie held her words back.
"Ridiculous..." Debbie looked at Marilyn and smiled coldly.
"Marilyn, you're so proud of yourself, aren't you?"
Marilyn smiled, "Mrs. Remington, you've got me wrong. I'm just saying that it's none of your business. Don't try to judge me."
No one should casually judge others' life.
When she decided to have children, she was not afraid of others' malicious words.
If she couldn't even stand such words, how could she protect her children?
"I am not trying to judge you. But I can't let you ruin Malcolm's life. He has to marry Velma..."
"Mrs. Remington, I've never agreed to marry Velma. It was your idea. Marilyn has never ruined my life."
Malcolm interrupted Debbie and glanced coldly at Velma. "Mrs. Remington, you've always wanted to control me."
What did Velma tell Debbie?
Velma knew that Malcolm was investigating Marilyn, so she deliberately spoke ill of Marilyn in front of Debbie.
Debbie looked at Malcolm in disbelief. "Malcolm, did you mean I was always controlling you?"
Debbie was concerned about Malcolm. Malcolm's mother had died, and he had a hard time living alone.
Malcolm looked straight at Debbie. "Yes, Mrs. Remington. You shouldn't have done that. Don't just listen to only one side. Don't judge people when you don't know them."
Marilyn was Debbie's daughter. How could Debbie say such awful words?
When Velma heard this, she felt humiliated.
All the time, Sandy was watching them quietly.
She was happy to see Marilyn suffer.
