ZACHARY'S POV
Zach,
There is so much to say, so much of hatred, so much of my undeniable feelings for you. You know when I first met you, every single nerve of my body despised you after all you killed my family. I hated you always. But you know despite the fact that you killed my family, I saved your life not because I was stupid but because my mother always told me that even saving a single life matters a lot.
I always wanted to become a doctor but I had to fulfil the responsibility of taking care of my dad's company. I wanted to save many lives.
But anyway that's not I am going to brag here. This letter is special, I am writing this to you because I can't tell you in person about the things which I want to confess.
Zach, I will never be able to say that I love you. Part of my heart will always love Hunter but when I had amnesia, I did love you. Sometimes I wish that I would've never gotten my memories back but then again I am glad that I remember everything.
I am always going to hate you for what you did to my family. But my heart knows that it'll always go to beat for you. My hatred is strong but so do my feelings for you.
You know while writing this, I am in tears. I never thought that one such day will come when I'll fall for a criminal.
I never wanted you to die but now I want you to live as long as you could.
You messed up my life Zach but look here I am all heads over heel for you.
You, I don't have enough words to explain my feelings. How can I hate and love all at once?
Now you're part of my family, I accept you but please give me some time before you touch my body. I need time.
I need time to learn how to love you.
After Hunter, you'd be the one to be in my heart and all the hatred may diminish someday but this feeling in my chest for you will never.
Our start was pathetic but for the rest of our lives, we'll learn to make everything alright.
September.
I read her letter over and over again.
Does she love me? Does she love a monster like me?
I pushed the saliva down my throat and looked at September who was standing in front of me with tears in her eyes.
I sat in front of her and took her palms in my hand. "Forgive me." I stammered.
Closing my eyes, I remember everything that I did to her, all the tortures, all the sufferings. My eyes filled with tears and I cried.
I cried for my mistake.
"Get up Zach. Now it hurts to see you in pain." She said.
I quickly stood up and looked straight into her eyes. Now her eyes were full of love and confusion instead of hatred.
"We'll learn to live," she added with a smile.
I shook my head. "No."
"Huh?"
"You said that you wanted to be doctor right?
She nodded.
" Go ahead and live your dream." I smiled.
Her mouth fell open but she didn't say anything. She was silent but her eyes told me a different story. She was excited.
"But-" I cut her in middle.
"I promise I'll take care of Claire more than my own life. You go and experience the best life. Learn and become a medical practitioner. Make yourself proud." I whispered.
She stared into my eyes and I felt them listening but before she could cry, I asked her not to do so. She had enough of tears now she deserves smiles.
"You really want me to go?" She asked, hesitantly.
"You don't need my permission." I smiled.
"Do you know Rehan Malhotra?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Her wife is a psychiatrist. You can stay with them. She's a nice woman." I added.
"And what if I don't want to go?" she asked.
I dared to cup her face into my palms and made her look into my eyes. "Don't leave your dream for me. I have done enough damage to you, this is the least I can do. I know you'll be in a different country with a different time zone but I promise, you'll be okay on your own. Not for me, for your own self just go and study."
She bit her lips and blinked her tears away. "Okay."
"I love you September," I said placing a kiss on her forehead.
She sighed.
"I will learn to accept you." She smiled.
That would be enough for me, September.
I decided to tell everyone about September leaving the country and not a single person was happy but still, they cheered her so that her journey won't be long and hard. I really want to see her in a white coat with a stethoscope hanging down her neck.
She'll look beautiful.
Maybe I realized late but that's okay. September has her life and it's just for five-six years then she'll return. I trust her.
Now I understand why they say that a man should love you enough to let you fight for your wings. I'll let September pursue her dream. She deserves this.
Meanwhile, for her and Claire I'll make my restaurant big with multiple chains of it in different cities. I want to show September that I can also do something.
***
I was helping September to pack her clothes and she was cheerfully selecting the dresses she's going to take with her. I've never seen her this happy.
"What?" She asked making me realize that I was starting her from so long.
"Nothing." I shook my head.
She smiled and came closer to me. "Zach."
"Mhmm."
"Thank you." she blurted out.
"There's no need to thank me. I am just helping you to achieve your dream."
"Still thank you. Honestly, I never expected this from you."
I smiled.
She came further close to me and hesitantly encircled her arms around me. "Can I kiss you?" she asked.
I said nothing. And what am I supposed to say? I never thought that she'll ever ask me this.
It seemed like she understood my mental turmoil, so instead of anything she first pecked my lips then softly started kissing me till I kissed her back.
Her lips perfectly moulded into mine and I felt divine. Maybe this is true love. To think about your partner before anything else. It is such a beautiful feeling.
She slowly parted away with a soft blush on her face. "Trust me I'll return to you."
I trust you September, I trust you.
