Bound By Blood

Chapter 94

Ch. 94 / 100 Jun 22, 2025

Ella’s night was restless, her dreams thick with a suffocating haze of crimson. The vision unfurled with a clarity that bordered on reality, dragging her into Aelara’s life once more.

She stood in a grand throne room, its towering walls adorned with blood-red banners that shimmered like liquid fire. Shadows writhed in the corners, alive and pulsing with a sinister rhythm. The air buzzed with power, the kind that demanded submission. At the center of it all, Aelara sat upon a throne carved from black obsidian, her figure cloaked in flowing crimson robes. A crown of twisted ruby and gold rested on her head, casting sharp glimmers of light as she surveyed the crowd kneeling before her.

The faces of the gathered vampires were obscured by veils of shadow, but their reverence was palpable. Aelara raised a delicate hand, her crimson-tipped fingers curling as if commanding invisible threads. A wave of blood-red energy swept through the room, and the shadows bowed deeper.

“You were born to rule,” a voice whispered, sultry and chilling. It seemed to echo from within Ella herself, weaving through the bond and stirring something ancient and unrelenting.

Ella jolted awake, her chest heaving as she clawed her way back to the present. The vision’s weight pressed down on her, the memory of Aelara’s power and loneliness lingering like a phantom touch.

The bond hummed faintly, tinged with curiosity and concern. She could feel the brothers’ emotions trickling through: Adrian’s tension, Vincent’s quiet protectiveness, Sebastian’s... mischief.

A knock at her door pulled her from her thoughts. “Ella?” Sebastian’s voice was uncharacteristically soft. “Are you awake?”

“Yes,” she managed, her voice shaky. “Come in.”

Sebastian entered, his golden hair catching the faint moonlight streaming through the window. His usual playful smirk was absent, replaced by an uncharacteristic seriousness.

“You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” he remarked, though his tone was devoid of humor.

Ella gave a hollow laugh. “Not a ghost—an echo. Aelara again.”

Sebastian leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed. “She’s persistent, isn’t she? What did you see this time?”

Ella hesitated, then relayed the vision of Aelara’s coronation. As she spoke, Sebastian’s expression darkened, though he masked it quickly with a light shrug.

“You’re scared of it,” he said, his voice gentle. “Of her.”

“I don’t want to become her,” Ella admitted. “But I can feel it, Sebastian. The pull toward... something. The power she had.”

Sebastian pushed off the doorframe and approached her. “Maybe that power isn’t something to fear,” he said. “Maybe it’s something to harness.”

“Sebastian—”

He raised a hand, cutting her off. “Hear me out. You’re stronger than any of us realized. If you lean into that strength, maybe you can control it—control her—before she controls you.”

Ella frowned. “And if I can’t?”

Sebastian’s smirk returned, but it was softer, tinged with something vulnerable. “Then you have us. You have me.”

The bond pulsed faintly, his confidence and belief in her threading through it. Against her better judgment, Ella nodded. “Okay. Show me.”

The training room was dimly lit, its air thick with anticipation. Sebastian stood across from Ella, his stance relaxed but his golden eyes sharp. “Start small,” he said. “Focus on that pull you mentioned. See if you can direct it.”

Ella closed her eyes, reaching inward toward the bond, toward the energy thrumming beneath her skin. Aelara’s memories stirred, but Ella pushed past them, seeking the core of her own power.

Her hands tingled, warmth spreading up her arms. When she opened her eyes, crimson tendrils of energy swirled around her fingers, their light casting eerie shadows on the walls.

“Good,” Sebastian said, his voice low and encouraging. “Now try shaping it.”

Ella focused, willing the energy to coalesce. But the power resisted, surging wildly. A sharp crack echoed through the room as the energy lashed out, striking the wall and leaving a scorch mark.

Sebastian moved toward her, his hands raised in a calming gesture. “Breathe, Ella. You’ve got this.”

“I can’t control it,” she said, her voice trembling. “It’s too much.”

“You’re stronger than you think,” Sebastian replied, his tone steady. “Trust yourself.”

Ella nodded, taking a deep breath as she tried again. This time, the energy responded, spiraling into a controlled orb in her palm. Relief washed over her, but it was short-lived.

The bond flared suddenly, a surge of power and emotion that knocked both of them backward. Ella stumbled, her back colliding with the piano behind her. Sebastian caught her before she could fall, his hands gripping her waist as they both struggled to steady themselves.

Their eyes met, and the air shifted. The bond pulsed with raw emotion—fear, relief, and something deeper, more primal. Sebastian’s golden eyes darkened, his hands tightening on her waist.

“Ella...” he murmured, his voice low and rough.

Before she could respond, his lips were on hers, the kiss desperate and consuming. Ella clung to him, her fingers tangling in his hair as the bond flared again, amplifying their shared emotions until it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began.

Sebastian’s hands roamed, his touch igniting a fire that chased away the lingering chill of her vision. Ella’s back arched against the piano, the keys beneath her producing discordant notes as their movements grew frantic.

But the moment shattered as the door slammed open.

“What the hell is going on here?” Adrian’s voice was a sharp blade cutting through the haze.

Sebastian stepped back, his chest heaving as he turned to face Adrian. “This isn’t what it looks like.”

Adrian’s icy-blue eyes burned with fury, the bond trembling under the weight of his jealousy. The air around him darkened, shadows coiling at his feet like living things.

“Ella,” Adrian said, his voice tight with barely restrained anger. “Leave. Now.”

Ella hesitated, her heart pounding as the bond pulsed with conflicting emotions. “Adrian, I—”

“Go,” he snapped, his gaze never leaving Sebastian.

Ella slipped past Adrian, the tension between the two brothers palpable as she fled the room. Once in the hallway, she leaned against the wall, her chest heaving as she tried to calm the storm raging within her.

From inside the room, raised voices echoed, their anger resonating through the bond. The manor seemed to respond, the walls trembling and shadows bleeding from the corners.

Ella closed her eyes, the memory of Aelara’s coronation flashing in her mind once more. The voice returned, chilling and seductive.

“You were born to rule.”
