The skies outside darkened gradually as twilight descended. Nelly sat in front of the window, seemingly deep in thought.
Just then, the door to the room opened, and Alpha Kilian entered the room.
He could make out Nelly 's slender figure sitting there despite the dark lighting in the room. Her barely visible back appeared to be full of unspoken tales.
At a glance, Nelly was a mysterious and cool beauty that drew people closer. They sought to understand her, seeking to peel away her mysterious exterior like a coat.
Alpha Kilian approached her and rested his hand on her shoulder. “Why aren't the lights on?” Returning to her senses, Nelly raised her eyes to stare at him. “When did you get here?”
“You must have a lot on your mind if you didn't even hear me come in. What are you thinking about?” Alpha Kilian inquired.
Nelly gently swirled the wine glass in her hand. “I'm a little tipsy from the red wine, so my reaction was a little sluggish.”
Alpha Kilian picked up the half-empty wine bottle and stared at her. “What made you drink?” “No reason. I just felt like drinking,” Nelly replied as she smiled at him.
Her smile pierced right through Alpha Kilian 's heart as he continued to gaze at her silently. “So? Would you like some?” Nelly offered.
“All right,” Alpha Kilian agreed readily.
“I'll fetch you a glass,” Nelly said as she stood up.
“You don't have to trouble yourself.” Alpha Kilian grabbed her hastily.
The moment Nelly turned around, Alpha Kilian suddenly stepped forward and pressed his lips against hers.
Nelly stood rooted to the spot, her eyelashes quivering slightly.
A moment later, Alpha Kilian released her. Giving her a once-over, he muttered, “Sweet.” Nelly laughed softly. “I see you've gotten better at sweet-talking, Alpha Morris .” “Do you dislike it?” Alpha Kilian asked.
She laughed again but did not elaborate. “I'll go get you a glass.” Upon saying that, she went to the cabinet.
Amusement colored Alpha Kilian 's eyes as he gazed at her figure.
Soon, Nelly came back with another glass and poured him some wine.
Glancing at Nelly , Alpha Kilian said, “I'll be going out soon, so I can't drink too much.” “Okay. A little is fine.” Nelly picked up Alpha Kilian 's glass and took a small sip.
Nelly did all the things unconsciously. However, to Alpha Kilian , each and every one of her actions was irresistibly attractive.
“Is this okay?” Nelly asked.
Alpha Kilian strode toward her and accepted the glass in her hand. “Nelly , this isn't a lot to me.” Nelly arched an eyebrow at him.
Alpha Kilian brought the glass to his lips and downed everything in one go. “Would you like more?”
Alpha Kilian picked up Nelly 's glass without speaking. There was still some wine left in hers. Raising the glass, he said, “This will suffice.”
He turned his gaze to Nelly as he downed the contents of her glass.
A hint of amusement permeated her indifferent expression as she gazed at him. “Where are you going?” Nelly asked.
In a low voice, Alpha Kilian replied, “There's something Dave and I need to take care of.” Nelly nodded thoughtfully. “When are you leaving?”
Glancing at the time, Alpha Kilian said, “In two hours.” Nelly nodded once again.
Alpha Kilian looked at her and asked, “What is it?”
Pouring herself another glass of red wine, Nelly shook her head as she sipped her drink. “It's nothing.”
Alpha Kilian scrutinized her.
“Would you like some more? One last glass?” Nelly asked as she looked at him.
He couldn't possibly reject her offer since she had asked so nicely. He could only nod in agreement. “Okay.”
Smirking, Nelly filled his glass halfway.
This time, Alpha Kilian was not in a rush to finish his drink. He watched Nelly intently.
Each and every move she made while drinking the wine was exquisitely graceful and pleasing to the eye. It wasn't until Nelly finished did she notice Alpha Kilian staring at her. “Is there something on my face?” “Yes.” Alpha Kilian nodded.
“What is it?” she asked.
“Nelly , you're not acting like yourself tonight,” Alpha Kilian murmured.
“How am I different?” Nelly retorted.
Alpha Kilian mulled it over. “You seem to be smiling a lot more today. You're also chattier than usual.” “So, you're saying that I usually don't smile and I talk less?”
“I'm not saying that—it's just a fact!” Alpha Kilian declared.
Narrowing her eyes, Nelly pondered for a moment before asking, “Do you prefer me this way?” Alpha Kilian 's eyes were filled with love and adoration as he replied, “I like you no matter how you are.”
