On the opposite side, Donna continuously glanced backward, prompting Ben to say, "Stop looking. There's nothing to see. Let's go."
"Daddy, Ben, don't you wonder what Tony's going to say to Nelly?" Donna asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.
"What else could they possibly talk about? It's probably about Thalia," Ben responded, displaying a maturity beyond his years.
Upon hearing Ben's words, Alpha Kilian's tense expression eased, and he nodded in agreement.
"It's been a long time since I've seen Tony this angry. I wonder what Thalia said to him at the hotel," Donna pondered out loud.
"They must have had a fight," Ben replied.
"But why would Thalia fight with Tony? She loves him so much," Donna pointed out, leaving Ben puzzled as well.
Turning to Alpha Kilian, Ben questioned, "Daddy, are you keeping something from us?" Alpha Kilian lowered his head and asked, "What do you mean?"
"I'm asking you the same. It feels like you're all hiding something from us," Ben stated. "You're overthinking this," came Alpha Kilian's response.
Just as Ben was about to say something else, he spotted Tony approaching them, so he turned his attention to his brother instead.
"Tony."
"I'm going upstairs to rest first." With that, Tony headed straight upstairs, his anger still evident.
Ben remained silent and followed Tony up the stairs.
Once Donna regained her composure, she hurried after them. "Ben, wait for me!"
Alpha Kilian watched them leave. Just then, Nelly approached, and Alpha Kilian walked up to her. "What did Tony say?" Alpha Kilian asked.
Nelly glanced up the stairs and replied, "Thalia probably thinks she'll eventually die, and that's why she left. I'm guessing she said some hurtful things to Tony because she was afraid they'd be sad."
Alpha Kilian's eyes turned somber as he processed her words. Without saying anything else, Nelly went upstairs as well.
Alpha Kilian quickly reached out his arm to grab hers.
"Nelly..."
Nelly turned to look at him blankly.
Alpha Kilian pursed his lips and gazed at her with a complicated expression. "Nelly, are you angry with me?" "No." Nelly shook her head.
"Aren't you going to ask why I think you're mad?"
"I'm not angry, so that will be my answer no matter what you ask," Nelly said calmly. Alpha Kilian felt resignation fill his chest, and Nelly gave him a small smile.
"I'm being honest," she said before turning to leave again.
Alpha Kilian pulled her into his arms. "Nelly—"
Just as he was about to say something, Dave entered from outside and spotted them. He froze for a moment, instinctively covering his eyes and stating, "Oh my, I didn't see anything."
Upon hearing that, the two turned towards the doorway.
They were met with the sight of Dave standing a short distance away, facing them. Alpha Kilian's face displayed exasperation as he realized who the man was. "You guys go ahead. I'm going upstairs to freshen up," Nelly said in a low voice.
There was nothing Alpha Kilian could say in response. He simply nodded in acknowledgment. Nelly made her way upstairs after flashing Dave a smile.
Alpha Kilian placed a hand in his pocket and straightened his posture. Impatiently, he asked, "Did you intentionally come at this time?"
"Do I detect a hint of jealousy in your tone? What's wrong? Are you two fighting?" Dave inquired.
Alpha Kilian's eyes reflected resignation. "If only we were. The truth is, she won't fight with me."
Dave walked over and took a seat on the couch, listening to Alpha Kilian's response. "Isn't it a man's dream to not have fights with a woman? Why aren't you appreciating this? Or perhaps you're doing it on purpose to flaunt your relationship?"
"Do you think I have that much free time to do something like that?" "I'm pretty sure you do."
Alpha Kilian shot him a glance before heading to the couch to sit down.
After a moment of silence, he asked, "Dave, do you know how to make a girl happy?"
Dave was momentarily taken aback. "I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in that area. Even if I were, I doubt my methods would be useful for your woman."
"What methods are you thinking of?" "Cars, houses, jewelry, and the like."
A smirk formed on Alpha Kilian's face at those words. "Once, I gifted her a car under my grandpa's name, but she returned the money for the car to me the next day."
Dave was left speechless by that revelation.
"She doesn't need or care about those things."
Thoughtfully, Dave responded, "You're right. Who is she? She can obtain those things whenever she wants."
Alpha Kilian lifted his head and gave Dave a sidelong glance. "I'm asking for your help to find a way to make her happy, not to discourage me."
"Sorry, but I really can't assist you with that," Dave chuckled, receiving a glare in return.
"I shouldn't have asked. Let's return to more serious matters. How are the preparations going on your end?"
A serious expression returned to Dave's face. "The boss has been staying at home these past few days, not leaving for a while now. He has increased the number of men around his house. It's not impossible to launch an attack on him, but it will be challenging."
"So he's confident that I'll come to him again," Alpha Kilian remarked.
"Yes. As long as the poison remains, he'll have leverage over you. He simply needs to wait for you to walk into his trap like a rabbit to a wolf's den."
A smirk spread across Alpha Kilian's face. "He must be dreaming if he thinks he has leverage over me. Besides, I'm not a rabbit."
Dave nodded. "That's right. You're not a rabbit; you're a grizzly bear who will triumph over his pack of wolves."
Alpha Kilian hummed in agreement.
"Have you decided when you'll strike?" Dave inquired.
"I wanted to do it in the next two days, but something has come up on Thalia's end, so I believe I'll have to postpone it for a few more days."
