After a moment of silence, Alpha Kilian glanced at them through the rearview mirror and smiled. "Why so quiet? What's on your minds?"
Once the boys regained their composure, Tony spoke up. "I was just thinking. Grandma must have been incredibly beautiful, right?"
The mere mention of her brought a warm look to Alpha Kilian's eyes. "Yes, she was." "Dad, do you resemble her?"
After pondering for a moment, Alpha Kilian nodded. "In some ways, yes."
"If that's the case, I must have inherited Grandma's good looks too. It's amazing to have a hereditary trait that passes down a generation," Tony said, turning his attention to Ben. "I got her good looks, while Ben got her wisdom. Grandma was truly exceptional." Tony's repeated mention of their grandmother touched Alpha Kilian's heart. She was someone he deeply cared for, even though he rarely spoke of her.
Tony's words made it feel as if she were still with them. "What about Donna?" Ben asked.
"What about her?" Tony replied. "Who does Donna resemble?"
Alpha Kilian smiled brightly and answered, "She resembles your grandma the most!" Tony was taken aback. "Really?"
"Back then, your grandma had many suitors, like a movie star, but she rejected them all. She dedicated herself to scientific research and never regretted it." Alpha Kilian's voice carried a hint of nostalgia as he recounted the past to his sons.
Tony nodded thoughtfully. "I never expected Grandma to be so noble." "Is she?" Alpha Kilian didn't elaborate further. Perhaps she was. "Dad, please tell us more about Grandma," Tony urged.
Alpha Kilian took a deep breath, contemplating what to share, when their car came to a stop. Tony and Ben looked out the window and realized they had arrived outside the castle gates. With that, Alpha Kilian changed his mind. "Another time."
His response dimmed the boys' initial excitement.
As Alpha Kilian saw Mike and Luke approaching, he got out of the car.
"Boss, we still need to take care of some things at the organization. We'll head back now," Mike said. Alpha Kilian nodded. "Alright, go ahead."
"Let us know if you need anything, Boss," Luke added. Alpha Kilian nodded again.
Just as they were about to leave, Tony rolled down the car window and called out, "Mike."
Hearing Tony's voice, Mike leaned over, giving him a playful look. "What's up, kid?" "Thank me."
"Thank you? For what?" Mike was confused. "For saving your life just now!"
"Saving me? When?"
"Do you know that Alpha Dave's car is equipped with weapons?" Tony asked. Mike nodded. "Yes, we received a notification about it."
"But Dad wasn't aware. If your car had kept following us, Dad would have shot you without hesitation if I hadn't stopped him."
Mike turned to Alpha Kilian, seeking confirmation. "Is that true?"
Alpha Kilian nodded earnestly. "I forgot about it." Mike was left speechless.
"I told you, didn't I?" Tony raised an eyebrow.
Sighing, Mike turned back to Tony. "Fine. Thank you, then." "You're just saying that. Show some sincerity, will you?"
"What do you want then?" Mike asked. "Give me your number."
Mike took the phone and saved his contact for Tony. He had no reason to reject the boss' son.
After receiving Mike's number, Tony reassured him, "Don't worry, I won't call you unless it's important. We'll talk again sometime."
What is there for us to talk about?
Despite his doubts, Mike maintained a polite smile. "Sure, feel free to call me if you need any help." "I won't hesitate," Tony replied.
Mike let out a chuckle. "Anyway, I have to go now."
"Goodbye!" Tony waved, and Mike waved back before leaving.
Alexia stood there, her eyes fixed on Alpha Kilian. Reluctantly, she had to leave too. "Take care of yourself, my savior."
Alpha Kilian didn't respond.
Once they were gone, Ben, who had been leaning on Tony's shoulder, watched as Alexia walked away. When she was out of sight, he asked, "Did you see that?"
"See what?"
"That woman seems to be interested in Dad."
"Duh, I realized it the first time I saw her." Tony retorted. "Is that why you wanted Mike's contact?"
"Well, isn't it obvious?" Tony shot back. "As expected, you're still the crafty old wolf of the family."
