Alpha King of Ruin and Desire

Chapter 130

Ch. 130 / 150 Dec 30, 2025

The air in the Alpha King’s study was thick with the concentrated effort of a dozen minds. Under Kian’s relentless command, the highest-ranking Coven Seers and the best Morvane tech specialists were working in a fragile, forced alliance, attempting to stabilize the flickering, almost nonexistent magical residue left by the obsidian cube. They had minutes, perhaps seconds, before the trace vanished completely.

Kian stood over the main projection table, his massive shoulders tense, his senses stretched to the breaking point. The moment the trace stabilized, the signal would be lost again. He needed a precise location, but Vane and Octavia were experts at concealment.

“Stabilization… eighty percent,” the lead Seer, a nervous, elderly Fae named Finn, whispered, his hands hovering over a shimmering crystal array. “It’s a powerful obfuscation spell—it’s like chasing a phantom echo.”

“Push through it,” Kian commanded, his voice low and dangerous. He didn’t care about collateral damage; he cared only about the coordinates.

Suddenly, the residual trace flared into an unbearable white light, not stabilizing, but broadcasting. The light coalesced, and a new image instantly materialized in the center of the projection table, far clearer and sharper than the last. The sudden, forced transmission was a deliberate power move, announcing their location’s general vicinity even as the exact coordinates remained shielded.

The study fell silent again, every eye fixed on the table.

The scene was the same as the previous video: Amelia, pale and unconscious, secured to the wooden chair, her pregnancy a cruel focus point. The bruise on her cheek seemed darker, a fresh stab of horror for Kian.

Then, the camera pulled back.

Two figures emerged from the shadows flanking Amelia, the lighting carefully orchestrated to reveal them fully, yet cast them in a demonic glow.

On Amelia’s left stood Marcus Vane, the former Alpha of the Crescent Pack. He looked older, his face etched with scars and bitterness, but his Morvane physique was still formidable—a portrait of lethal, disciplined fury. He wore black, heavy leather armor, and his eyes, usually blazing yellow, were cold and flat, radiating utter contempt. He was the savage, the military mind, the one who held the Morvane claim.

But it was the figure on Amelia’s right that delivered the sharpest, most crippling blow to Kian's composure.

The woman was elegantly cruel, dressed in rich, deep purple silks that contrasted sharply with the bleak backdrop. Her silver hair was meticulously coiled, and her features were sharp, refined—a face Kian recognized instantly from the Fae Court’s historical archives. This was Octavia, Amelia’s despised stepmother, the banished Fae noble with Coven blood. She held a long, slender staff capped with a piece of dark, polished quartz, the source of the magical intrusion. She was the Fae/Coven operative, the architect of personal agony.

Octavia glanced at the camera with a thin, chilling smile that never reached her eyes, before settling a look of proprietary malice on the unconscious Amelia.

Marcus Vane stepped forward, dominating the frame. He spoke with the commanding cadence of a seasoned Alpha, his voice amplified by a magical enchantment so it felt like it vibrated through the stone walls of the Keep.

“Alpha King Kian Nightshade,” Vane began, savoring the title he was about to desecrate. “You see before you the true cost of hybrid alliances. The consequence of mixing bloodlines that should remain pure.” He jabbed a gloved finger towards Amelia. “She is the symbol of your father’s treason and your own foolish ambition. And she carries the monstrosity that threatens to destroy all three of our races.”

Vane’s eyes, full of manic certainty, fixed on where he knew Kian would be standing.

“Our demands are simple, Kian. They are not for gold, or territory, but for the restoration of order.”

He laid out the terms, each one a strategic hammer blow aimed at dismantling Kian's entire life and the fragile peace he had built:

“One: You will, within the next twenty-four hours, broadcast a decree to every Pack and every Fae settlement. You will publicly and irrevocably renounce your title as Alpha King and dissolve the Royal Council.”

“Two: You will formally and publicly relinquish all command and fealty over the Nightshade Pack, handing over all territories, assets, and personnel to me, Marcus Vane, the true Alpha of the North.”

Vane then gestured with a sneer towards Octavia. “And three: You will, using the ritual scroll we will provide, perform the Sacrament of Severance. This ritual will remove all Fae power you have inherited through your union with the Luna, severing your connection to the Fae realm and rendering you nothing more than a powerful, but ultimately mortal, Morvane.”

The third demand was the deadliest, revealing Octavia’s true intent. They didn't just want Kian's throne; they wanted to cripple the Kingdom's future political stability by isolating him and removing the unique, unifying magic he and Amelia shared.

Octavia, now stepping forward, added her own venomous caveat, her voice smooth and utterly devoid of warmth. “Your compliance must be total, Kian. Should you fail in any of these three requirements, or should your little army attempt to breach our perimeter, the child will be extracted immediately, and the mother… will be discarded.”

The video froze on the united, vengeful faces of Marcus Vane and Octavia.

Kian remained motionless, his senses reeling not from fear, but from the brutal clarity of their strategy. They were not demanding Amelia back; they were demanding his life, his identity, and the destruction of his father's legacy. This was a coup disguised as a ransom.

Gareth, pale and shaken, finally found his voice. "Alpha, this is suicide. Even if you complied, they would simply execute you once you've handed over power. We need to buy time."

Kian's Morvane form was threatening to break through the surface of his skin, his muscles bunching, his eyes flashing momentarily. He fought the overwhelming urge to tear the entire Keep apart. He finally spoke, his voice dangerously level.

“They underestimate me. They believe I am just a warrior who will run headlong into their trap.” He looked at the frozen image of Amelia’s cold, bruised face. “The Sacrament of Severance is a complex ritual. It requires specific reagents and preparation. It gives us a window.”

"Send word to all captains and elders," Kian commanded, already moving toward the strategy table, his mind already spinning the intricate web of deceit. "Prepare the public address systems. I will address the Pack. I will give them the first two demands, but the third… the third will require the full twenty-four hours they requested. We give them the performance they want. We make them believe I am broken and capitulating."

"We lie," Gareth confirmed, understanding.

"No," Kian corrected, a chilling smile touching his lips. "We stall. Every moment they wait for my submission is a moment we spend finding them. Prepare a feigned compliance. But in the meantime, I want every asset in the Kingdom working on the location of this broadcast. Find them, Beta. Before the sun rises, find them."
