Alpha King of Ruin and Desire

Chapter 141

Ch. 141 / 150 Dec 30, 2025

The moment Octavia confirmed her alliance with the Drakul Coven, Kian stopped fighting with tactical restraint. The fear for Amelia, mixed with the devastating realization that his team was now trapped in a vicious siege above ground, distilled his rage into a singular, deadly purpose: eliminating the threat that stood before him.

Marcus Vane surged back from the cracked wall, roaring, his body responding to Kian’s full Alpha shift with a defiant, self-destructive ecstasy. Marcus had waited years for this moment, living in the shadow of his brother, always measured against Kian’s legacy. He lunged, not with skill, but with the raw, chaotic power of a cornered beast that believes in nothing but its own death wish.

The Alpha vs. The Rogue

Kian met the charge head-on. Marcus's blow, aimed at Kian’s ribs, was absorbed by the Morvane King’s hardened musculature. Kian retaliated with a series of blindingly fast strikes—a blur of fists, claws, and elbows—designed to break Marcus's defense and shatter his bones.

Crack! Kian’s elbow connected with Marcus’s temporal bone, a blow that would have instantly killed a human. Marcus only shook his head, a wild, manic gleam in his eyes, and lunged for Kian’s throat.

“You have everything!” Marcus snarled, his voice a distorted mix of human fury and Morvane growl, his breath hot and foul against Kian’s face. “The Pack, the power, the Luna! I was always the discard! The spare!”

“You are a traitor to the Pack, Marcus,” Kian grated out, twisting violently to break the hold. He drove his knee into Marcus’s gut, the impact audible and sickening. “Your resentment doesn't justify this blasphemy!”

Kian flung Marcus across the vault floor, sending him sliding toward the altar where Amelia lay, silent and struggling against her restraints. Kian followed instantly, moving with the terrifying efficiency of a hunter. He didn’t want a drawn-out battle; he wanted to end this threat before Octavia could complete whatever ritual she had started.

Marcus scrambled back, scooping up a piece of the shattered vault door—a jagged shard of steel and silver. He screamed and threw himself into Kian’s path again, swinging the silver weapon in a wide, desperate arc.

Kian met the attack with his bare forearm, allowing the silver edge to slice a shallow, agonizing path across his skin. He ignored the burning pain, seizing Marcus’s wrist and twisting. There was a sickening snap, followed by a grunt of shock and pain from the rogue Morvane. The shard clattered harmlessly to the floor.

Kian pinned Marcus to the ground, his massive, gold-furred form dominating the rogue. He was poised to deliver the killing blow, his claws extended, his teeth bared in an unforgiving snarl of protective dominance.

“Any last words, brother?” Kian’s voice was low, vibrating with deadly finality.

Marcus just laughed, a broken, wheezing sound. “You lose, Kian. Even if you kill me, she wins. And you’ll never see your whelp.”

The Mage vs. The Shadow and The Light

While Kian and Marcus fought their primal, bloody duel, Myra and Gareth had their attention locked on Octavia, who had moved to the periphery of the chaos, her hands already weaving intricate threads of dark magic.

“She’s not a fighter, she’s a controller,” Myra warned Gareth, pulling a protective, translucent shield of Fae light around them. “Her power is in ancient Coven rituals. Stick close, Gareth, and keep her off balance.”

Gareth nodded, his Morvane form lending him incredible speed and agility, but he remained focused. “I’m your shield. You focus on disrupting her flow.”

Octavia, seeing the two approach, raised her hands, and the shadows within the vault floor—shadows cast by Kian’s furious movements—lengthened and solidified, transforming into twisted, skeletal projections that writhed toward Myra and Gareth.

“Foolish little mage,” Octavia scoffed, her voice echoing unnaturally. “You think your pale light can stop the ancient darkness that fuels the Drakul?”

Myra’s light flared, purifying the surrounding air. “Darkness is just unmanaged potential, Octavia. And potential can be overwritten.”

She thrust her hands forward, sending a beam of focused, blue-white energy straight at the Fae witch. Octavia intercepted the blast with a counter-spell—a swirling vortex of black, oily magic that devoured Myra's light and turned it into an oppressive weight, slamming Myra against the cavern wall.

Gareth moved in an instant. While Myra struggled to regain her footing, Gareth, using his specialized Shadow Guard training, became almost invisible in the flickering light. He struck Octavia from the flank, aiming a non-lethal, incapacitating blow at her knee.

The moment his fist made contact, a burst of purple-black energy erupted from Octavia’s body. It was a Coven defensive ward, infused with raw, painful magic. The energy slammed Gareth backward, throwing him into the rough-hewn stone with bone-jarring force.

“Primitive muscle,” Octavia sneered, flexing her fingers. She was radiating power now, the dark magic of the old Coven feeding her. She began chanting in an ancient, sibilant tongue, the words causing the silver chains on Amelia’s wrists to glow with malevolent energy, tightening around her flesh.

Amelia gasped, the pain finally forcing a sound from her.

Seeing Amelia’s distress, Myra fought through the crushing weight of the shadow magic and aimed a blindingly bright surge of pure light directly at the silver chains. The light was hot and furious, a distraction that momentarily forced Octavia to break her concentration on the chant and focus on protecting her ritual tools.

“You protect the chains!” Myra yelled, breathing heavily, addressing Octavia. “That means the ritual’s binding element is the silver itself. Gareth, hit the orb! The green orb is the power source!”

Gareth, recovering from the blast, saw the floating green orb that provided the chamber’s sickly illumination. It was the only unshielded source of Fae energy.

With a final, desperate surge of speed, Gareth launched himself off the wall, turning his momentum into a projectile. He slammed his heel into the floating orb, shattering it instantly.

The chamber was plunged into immediate, absolute darkness.

The sudden loss of light and power caused Octavia’s intricate flow of Coven magic to fracture. The pressure on Amelia’s silver chains instantly eased, giving her a vital, momentary reprieve.

Kian, sensing the shift, delivered a final, devastating blow, knocking Marcus unconscious. He turned, gold eyes blazing in the pitch blackness, and plunged toward the spot where he knew Octavia Vane was standing, ready to complete the purge.

The dual duel was over. The combined fight was just beginning.
