Alpha King of Ruin and Desire

Chapter 110

Ch. 110 / 150 Dec 30, 2025

The news of the triplets immediately explained Amelia’s exaggerated symptoms. The hormonal surge required to sustain three lives was overwhelming her system, leading to volatile mood swings, chronic nausea, and acute fatigue.

The nausea was the most debilitating. It hit her at random times—the smell of Kian’s favored synth-coffee, the vibration of the ship's hyperdrive, or simply the sight of certain colors. She would often wake up violently ill, leaning over the basin, Kian kneeling behind her, holding her hair and rubbing her back with unflinching care.

“I hate this, Kian,” she choked out one morning, her voice raw. “I feel like I’m piloting a ship that’s constantly crashing.”

“You are carrying three future Alpha leaders, Amelia,” Kian replied, his tone gentle but firm. “You are performing a miracle. We will endure the turbulence together.”

Her mood swings, however, were proving the most challenging for the stoic Alpha King. One moment, she was curled up against him, tearfully proclaiming her eternal love and devotion, the next she was furious because he looked at her "too intensely."

One afternoon, Kian came into the suite with a bouquet of rare, iridescent flowers from the Beta Quadrant. Amelia took one look at them and burst into tears.

“They’re beautiful! I love them! Thank you!” she sobbed, clutching them tightly.

Ten minutes later, she threw them across the room, demanding he take them away. “They smell like betrayal! Why would you bring pollen into the air? Don’t you care about the children’s respiratory systems?!”

Kian, utterly bewildered, simply stood there, his hands open in a gesture of surrender. He learned quickly that logic was useless. He had to be her anchor, riding the unpredictable wave of her emotions without judgment.

He often found solace in Gareth, who, along with Myra, was the only person aware of the true number of heirs.

“How do you manage the mood fluctuations, Gareth?” Kian asked his friend one evening in the war room, weary from a day of crying jags and sudden demands for spicy, pickled vegetables.

Gareth, whose own life was running smoothly with Myra, merely laughed. “Alpha, you are dealing with three times the standard hormones. Just remember: it’s not the Luna speaking, it’s the trio. Feed her, protect her, and never, ever question her desire for salted caramel, even if she demanded you throw it out ten minutes ago.”

Kian smiled faintly, a new layer of appreciation for his friend and his Luna settling over him. He was tired, but every moment of chaos was outweighed by the fierce, protective love he felt for the three tiny lives he was guarding. The Night Shade was a fortress, and inside, his secret, blossoming family was the heart of its future.

Meanwhile, the security situation was Gareth’s sole focus. Following Kian’s directive, the entire Alpha King wing was now a 'ghost zone,' electronically and magically invisible. Myra, working with a speed and intensity only seen when she was fully immersed in complex magical engineering, had developed the necessary shielding.

“The main challenge isn't physical entry, it's energy signature detection,” Myra explained to Gareth in the secure communications center, gesturing at a complex, color-coded projection of the Pack House layout. “Three developing Alpha cores emit a combined power that is unprecedented. It’s like a beacon. Any high-level magical tracker—and Vane definitely employs several—could pinpoint the location of the power source.”

Gareth ran a gloved hand over the projection. “So we cloak it. What materials are you using?”

“Not materials, Beta. Magic. I’m weaving an ancient, layered Nullification Shroud directly into the architecture of the wing, reinforced by the star sapphire’s matrix,” Myra detailed, tapping the ring on her finger. “It uses the Pack’s energy grid to create a randomized, pulsing magical field. To anyone probing from outside, the wing appears to be a completely inert section of the building—no life, no magic, no heat signatures. Just cold stone and conduit. It even disrupts sonic detection.”

Gareth stared at her, impressed. “A noise-canceling, heat-dissipating, magic-cloaking field, powered by the Pack’s main reactor and anchored by your mating tether. You truly are the Chief of Security’s most formidable asset, Witch.”

Myra offered a rare, tired smile. “I prefer ‘fixed point in your chaotic universe.’ And this is only half the plan. You handle the external threat. I’m handling the internal stability. The Shroud requires constant monitoring and energy reallocation, which means I'm essentially tied to the power hub on the third floor.”

“Understood. If Vane strikes, the priority is to keep you running that shield,” Gareth affirmed, his gaze steely. He turned to his new security deputies. “Double the patrol cycles. Use silent, non-metallic weapons inside the perimeter. No one, not even senior commanders, is permitted access to the Alpha wing without my direct, verbal authorization and a retinal scan confirmed by Myra’s system. Tell them it’s a contagious, experimental weapon storage area if you must. Just keep them away.”

The triple threat had not just elevated security; it had changed their entire approach to command. They were operating on a level of secrecy and paranoia that had never been necessary before, and Kian, despite his overwhelming pride, felt the pressure of keeping such a precious secret.

Later that evening, the immediate crisis management settled, Kian returned to his suite. The room was dark save for the soft, diffused light from the energy panel beside their bed. Amelia was asleep, but the bond snapped her awake the moment he entered the room.

“Kian,” she murmured, her voice husky.

He stripped off his shirt, the scent of fresh air and anxiety clinging to him. He slid into bed, pulling her immediately to his side. She felt heavy and warm against him, her scent now a complex mix of her own intoxicating vanilla and the clean, mineral scent of their children.

“Sorry, my love. Just checking on Gareth’s new protocols,” he whispered, tucking her head under his chin.

“Did you get the salted caramel?” she asked suddenly, her mind still in the territory of earlier cravings.

He paused. “I did. It’s in the cooling unit, triple-sealed.”

“Good.” She sighed contentedly. Then, with a sudden, violent shove, she pushed him away, sitting up straight. “Why are you so relaxed? Don’t you care that I feel like a space whale? My uniform doesn’t fit. My hair is static-charged. And I swear the middle one is kicking my bladder for sport!” Tears welled up in her eyes again.

Kian didn’t react with alarm or frustration. He simply reached out and gently pulled her back down until she was resting against his shoulder, stroking the curve of her hip.

“I’m relaxed, my beautiful Luna, because the two most formidable minds in the Pack are currently running on zero sleep to protect you and our future,” he said softly. “And because when I feel the overwhelming chaos of your emotions, I know it’s not just you. It’s three heartbeats, three futures, trying to communicate with me all at once. It’s an honor to be your anchor.”

He slid his hand down to her belly, which was now noticeably hard and round. He waited, and after a moment, he felt a faint, fluttering sensation—a tiny, coordinated movement. He smiled, a genuine, deep Alpha smile that reached his eyes.

“There they are,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “We’ll buy you all the elastic uniforms you need. We’ll turn the entire Pack House into a swamp if you crave moss. And every moment of your nausea is just proof that our kingdom has secured its dynasty. I am not tired of this, Amelia. I am only more devoted to you.”

She stopped crying instantly. The fury vanished, replaced by an incandescent, loving peace that washed over him through the bond.

“I love you,” she breathed, turning her face to kiss his neck, her devotion absolute and profound. “Thank you for being steady.”

“Forever steady, Luna. For all three of us.” Kian kissed the top of her head, listening to the triple rhythm of their children’s heartbeats, the most powerful security system in the universe.
