Chapter 573: You Deserve It!

At that moment, Reese let out a soft sneeze. Bianca quickly took off her coat and wrapped it around Reese’s shoulders.

“The weather changed suddenly. You’re not dressed for this. Let’s go to my place so you can change into something warmer,” Bianca said, clearly worried about her.

She had no idea that her simple act of kindness would soon cause trouble.

When Reese left Bianca’s home later, she was dressed warmly and looked grateful.

“Thank you, Bianca.”

“It’s nothing. Just rest and don’t let yourself catch a cold.”

Bianca had already contacted several professors from the film academy in Edenfield, using her connections to help improve Reese’s skills. It wasn’t something money alone could do.

Bianca’s good reputation and Ruby’s support made it possible. Some of Ruby’s former students responded quickly to Bianca’s request. Ruby, a legend in the film world, had given her full support to Bianca, making it easier for Reese to grow.

After dropping Reese off, Bianca hurried to her dinner meeting with the professors. She was focused and didn’t waste time once she had a goal.

Meanwhile, back at her apartment, Reese changed out of Bianca’s clothes. She planned to visit Bianca the next day and bring her some pastries to say thank you, now that she knew where Bianca lived.

Sitting on the sofa, Reese looked at photos of Blake on her phone and smiled softly.

“Blake, I did it! I got the S-level contract with Phoenix Alliance Group!” she said to herself as her happiness was visible.

Reese felt excited about how far she had come. She couldn’t wait to show Blake how much she had changed when he returned.

Holding her phone tightly, she couldn’t stop herself from calling him. But he didn’t answer. So, she sent him a long message, telling him everything she had achieved.

Later that night, just as she was falling asleep, her phone rang. It was Blake calling. Her heart raced as she quickly answered.

“Congratulations, Reese! You deserve it!”

Blake’s warm, cheerful voice came through the phone. Reese blushed, hearing how proud he was of her. She wished he weren’t so far away. His presence was the only thing missing right now.

“It’s nothing special. This contract was supposed to be yours anyway. I just got lucky,” Reese said softly, holding the phone close and listening carefully.

“Don’t say that. This job takes real talent. If you weren’t good enough, someone else would have taken it. You saved Emerald Artists Agency with this deal,” Blake said gently. His words filled Reese with happiness, making her heart flutter.

“How’s Bianca doing? I haven’t heard from her in a while,” Blake asked.

For a moment, Reese stayed quiet.

“She’s been really busy lately,” she finally said.

Hearing Bianca’s name ruined her good mood. Every time she talked to Blake, he always mentioned Bianca. It felt like he only stayed in touch with her because of Bianca.

“Mr. Evans from Phoenix Alliance Group came by not long ago to pick her up,” Reese added. “He didn’t say where they were going, but he seemed pretty determined to take her with him. I saw her get into his sports car.”

Reese paused for a moment before she continued. “They looked pretty close. Mr. Evans even drove Bianca himself. People are saying they might get married soon. But it’s just rumors. Nothing’s confirmed until they say it.”

On the other end of the line, Blake’s face turned cold. It was hard to believe. Had Bianca forgotten the promise she made to him?

“I see. Anyway, you’ve been working hard these days. I’ll take you out for a nice meal when I get back to celebrate,” Blake said.

Working hard? Reese didn’t feel that way. She never felt tired when it came to Blake. But Bianca had been good to her too. Was she doing the right thing? She only told the truth... didn’t she?

Letting out a long sigh, Reese put her phone down and started to undress. She took a quick shower to clear her mind. As she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror, all she could see was her blurry reflection through the mist and the mixed emotions in her eyes.

A few days passed, and things kept getting better for Bianca’s company. Business was booming, with many companies wanting to work with them. Phoenix Alliance Group’s stock price kept going up, giving investors big profits.

With this sudden success, the acting chairman of Phoenix Alliance Group appeared on national TV during the financial news. Dave stood confidently at the podium and gave advice to the public.

“Phoenix Alliance Group was built through hard work and the skills of talented people working toward a shared goal, to make the world better. We value our investors and will never let you down.”

From that day on, Dave’s words were seen as a model for business leaders. Phoenix Alliance Group’s success even made it into MBA textbooks at top universities.

Meanwhile, Bianca had already sold all her shares while the price was at its highest. After paying off her debts to Madison and Leonel, she still had a large amount of money left in her account.

“I didn’t expect things to turn out this well for me,” Bianca said.

Sometimes, she felt the money came too easily, especially since her company was close to shutting down not long ago.

Now, her agency was thriving. Everyone was busy with work. Reese, in particular, was working non-stop. Except for sleeping, her whole day was packed.

In the mornings, she trained in acting with a professor from the theater department. In the afternoons, she did intense physical training and attended business classes. Evenings were spent on theory lessons to end the day.

The schedule was tough, but Reese felt happy and satisfied. It helped that Blake was talking to her more often than before.

“Hello, Reese. How was your day?” Blake’s gentle voice always made her forget how tired she felt.

“It was good. I learned a lot today. I feel like I’m getting stronger, both physically and mentally.” A happy smile spread across her face. She loved this kind of life, especially when she got to talk to him.

“That’s good to hear. But don’t forget to rest, even when you’re busy,” Blake said warmly. Then, to Reese’s disappointment, he suddenly asked about Bianca, “By the way, how’s Bianca doing these days?”
