Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 587: You’re Overthinking It

Ch. 587 / 630 Apr 22, 2026

Rachel had just died from a serious illness. But even with that, the Evans Group didn’t hesitate; they started doing business with the Lawson Group right away. Dave showed no mercy. He crushed the company’s assets until Triumph Capital took over 51% of its shares, leaving the Lawson Group empty.

When Brady died, Dave didn’t flinch. He had planned everything all along.

Blake’s tears fell fast and heavy as he poured out his pain, blaming everything on the Evans family.

Reese felt a deep ache in her chest. She hadn’t known he had lost so much in just six months. Now he sat there, broken, crying like a child.

Her heart broke with his. She wrapped her arms around him gently.

“Blake, it’s okay. I’m still here,” she whispered, crying with him.

Blake held onto her waist, finding a bit of comfort in her arms.

“My parents died because of the Evans family,” Blake cried. “Reese, tell me… should I take revenge? Dave is sly and cruel. If Bianca stays with him, he’ll hurt her!”

Reese felt a knot tighten in her chest. She had only heard bits and pieces about Dave from rumors and news. She never really knew what kind of person he was. Now, hearing all this, she feared the worst. Maybe Bianca had been fooled. She was already talking about marrying him. If Dave was really like this, Bianca was in serious danger.

As these thoughts raced through her mind, Blake pulled back from her arms, his face full of pain.

“I warned Bianca,” he said. “But she wouldn’t listen. Even when I was abroad, she promised to stay loyal until we officially ended things. Still, she threw away everything we had and ran to Dave.”

His voice trembled. “I saved her life twice. I got hurt because of her. And yet, she still chose to believe in him and left me behind…”

Tears filled Blake’s eyes as he looked at Reese.

“Isn’t it pathetic? Everything I want slips away. Everyone I care about leaves. No matter how much I give, I never get anything back. So tell me… what’s the point of living?”

Reese’s heart tightened, but her voice was firm. “You’re not alone, Blake. Even if the whole world turns its back on you, I won’t.”

A faint smile appeared on his face. It was exactly what he needed to hear.

“Bianca must be under Dave’s spell,” Reese said. “We have to wake her up. And I promise, I’ll do whatever it takes to help you.”

Blake’s eyes shimmered with tears. “Thank you, Reese. Having you means everything.”

He held her hands tightly, and in that moment, those four words wiped out all reason. Reese never doubted him. Her loyalty to him was sincere, regardless of any circumstances. She really believed she was doing this for Bianca and Blake.

But then Blake slowly let go of her hands. “Going up against Dave won’t be easy. Your career is just starting, and I don’t want to pull you into this. I’m grateful, but I can’t let you be part of it.”

As he turned to leave, Reese grabbed his wrist. “Blake, I’d walk through fire for you and Bianca. You’re the ones who matter most to me. My career and fame can all wait. I just want you both safe.”

Blake pressed his lips together, not saying a word. He looked at Reese, his brows drawn tight. From the look on his face, he was clearly struggling with something deep inside.

“Reese, I’m sorry,” he finally said. “I can’t be that selfish. You still have a future ahead of you, and I don’t want to be the one to ruin it.”

He pulled his hand from hers, turned around, and started to walk away.

But Reese didn’t let him go. She ran after him and wrapped her arms around him from behind, hugging him tightly. She was terrified that if she let go, he might disappear forever.

“Blake, please,” Reese cried, her voice shaking. “Don’t push me away. I want to be there for you. Just tell me what you need. Whatever it is, I’ll do it. Please… don’t reject me.” She clung to him even tighter, her tears soaking into his back.

Blake didn’t speak right away. Then, slowly, he placed his hand over hers and asked quietly, “Are you sure… you’re willing to do anything?”

Reese nodded hard, her forehead bumping against his back. “Even if it means risking my future, I’ll do it, if it means making your wishes come true.”

She had no idea that the moment those words left her mouth, Blake’s eyes narrowed slightly, and a faint, satisfied smile appeared at the corner of his lips.

The next day, a piece of news exploded through the entertainment industry like a bomb.

“The person in charge of the Universal Pictures project in Edenfield has arrived.”

Bianca stared at the document Diana had sent and gasped. “I can’t believe it’s really Ms. Brenda McGee!”

Of course she knew who Brenda McGee was. Almost everyone in the industry did.

Brenda wasn’t just a name, she was a force. A director, screenwriter, actress, producer, and one of the shareholders of Universal Pictures. Bianca never imagined that the mystery figure behind the project would turn out to be her.

“Yes, it’s really her. Everyone was shocked; there wasn’t a single rumor about it beforehand. But this time, it seems legit. Someone even snapped a photo of Ms. McGee getting off the plane.”

Bianca nodded, not doubting it for a second. The timing made sense, and Brenda McGee's showing up was a big deal. She was more than qualified to lead the Universal Pictures project in Edenfield.

“What else do you know? Do you have any idea where she’s staying?”

Bianca was already thinking ahead. She needed to find a way to meet Brenda, and the more she knew, the better her chances.

“I’m not sure yet,” Diana said. “But I’ve asked Brandon to check. I came straight to you with the news before I could even talk to him.”

“Oh?” Bianca raised an eyebrow, a curious look in her eyes. She gave Diana a teasing smile. “Seems like you and Mr. Foster are getting along well. You can even ask him for favors now.”

“Bianc, you’re overthinking it,” Diana said quickly. “He offered to help. I wouldn’t dare tell him what to do. I just rushed here to tell you, so I didn’t get the chance to check the rest.” Her cheeks turned red as she talked.

Still, she had to admit that her opinion of Brandon had started to shift.
