Chapter 536: You’re Already Losing
Bianca stared at him and gave a small smirk. “Rupert, do you really think I haven’t figured you out? You came here today because you never planned to let me leave. No matter what I say, the ending’s already set, isn’t it?”
Rupert was taken aback. He hadn’t expected her to say that. The woman in front of him now was calm, sharp and nothing like the frightened girl from before.
“Don’t try to play games!” Rupert shouted, his patience snapping. “Looks like I’ll have to hurt you before you listen.”
He signaled his man to cut Bianca’s face.
But just as the man raised his hand, a dark figure appeared out of nowhere and knocked him out in one blow.
Rupert was stunned. His eyes widened in disbelief. Why would his own guards turn against him?
At that moment, another man pressed a dagger to Rupert’s neck.
“You…” Rupert gasped, thinking it was one of his own. But then he looked closer.
These weren’t his men at all. When had they been switched?
Rupert looked thin, but he was fast and trained. He dodged the dagger with a fast move, rolled forward, and kept rolling until he hit the door.
He scrambled to his feet, yanked the door open, and ran out.
“Help! Intruders!” he yelled as he disappeared down the hallway.
The two bodyguards didn’t go after Rupert. Instead, they rushed to untie Bianca. Keeping her safe was their only priority.
Still, Bianca couldn’t help but wish they had caught Rupert when they had the chance.
“Thank goodness you both showed up in time,” she said.
Just moments earlier, she had been so tense she thought her heart might burst.
The bodyguards gave her a quick update. Rupert’s men had tried to mislead them by splitting into two groups. But it hadn’t taken long for the bodyguards to take them down.
Even though they faced groups alone, these bodyguards were Dave’s secret weapons. They were the best he had. With special forces training, they made quick work of average enemies.
After finding the car that brought Bianca here, they took out two of Rupert’s men and slipped inside.
Rupert’s team was a mess. Most of them were just random mercenaries. The bodyguards blended in easily and went unnoticed.
“I recorded everything Rupert said,” one of them said.
Bianca nodded quickly as they gave their report. They had handled everything with skill and calm. They lived up to their reputation; quick, skilled, and reliable.
The whole thing had been terrifying but thankfully, it ended well.
The three of them left the room. That was when Bianca realized they were inside an old, abandoned factory.
Rupert’s face had completely changed. He looked furious now, nothing like the confident man from earlier. He couldn’t believe he was losing like this and it happened in his own territory, too.
If Bianca got away, Lucas wouldn’t believe her story. But if Dave heard what he said earlier, everything Rupert had planned would fall apart. He needed Dave to keep fighting against Lucas. This wasn’t the result he had in mind.
At that moment, over fifty of his men were standing by. They were holding sticks and long knives, ready to strike.
"I'm sorry. This isn’t a place where you can just come and go," Rupert growled. "Get rid of them."
Bianca’s heart pounded when she saw the armed men, but one of the bodyguards leaned in and whispered, “Don’t worry. It’s just a small fight. The two of us can handle it. There’s an exit nearby, and the car’s still waiting. Please, Mrs. Evans, you should go first.”
His calm words gave Bianca the strength she needed. She turned to Rupert and held up a small recording pen the bodyguards had given her.
“Do you recognize this, Rupert? I recorded everything we said. Just imagine how Dave and your father will react when they hear it.”
Rupert’s face twisted with fury. “Damn it! You recorded us?” he shouted, his voice shaking with rage. “I underestimated you! Grab her! Don’t let her leave with that recorder! I’ll give a million dollars to whoever gets it back!”
As soon as he spoke, the men around him lit up with energy. They raised their weapons and rushed forward.
Bianca didn’t flinch. She had already seen what she wanted and it's Rupert's panic reaction. She was done watching him act proud and twist things behind Dave’s back. Now that she had what she came for, there was no reason to stay. Nothing mattered more than that recording pen.
Rupert roared, “How dare you trick me! I’ll make you suffer before you die! I’ll tear you to pieces and feed you to the dogs!”
Bianca laughed. “Too bad you won’t get the chance. You should worry about yourself.” Then she turned to the bodyguards. “Take care of yourselves, both of you.” With that, she ran toward the exit.
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Evans,” one of the bodyguards said, cracking his knuckles.
“Let’s see who takes down the most,” the other one grinned.
“You’re already losing,” came the reply with a smirk.
For Mr. Evans, anyone who went against Mrs. Evans was his enemy too. His men never held back when dealing with those people.
Rupert was boiling with anger. “How can over fifty of us not beat just two guys? Are you serious?”
But before he could say more, shock replaced his fury. His men were being tossed aside like nothing by the two bodyguards.
Rupert stood there, stunned, as the unbelievable scene unfolded in front of him. He couldn’t understand how Dave’s men were this strong. His own men looked completely useless in comparison.
He finally realized something important. Numbers wouldn’t help him now. These bodyguards were on a different level. And if he couldn’t even deal with them, there was no way he could stop Bianca.
Once the bodyguards saw that Bianca had gotten away safely, they stopped fighting and left.
Rupert felt dizzy. His chest tightened with rage and shock.
One of his men rushed to support him. “Boss, are you okay? What should we do now?”
Rupert’s hands trembled. “What do we do? We go after her, of course! I need that recorder pen back!” he shouted. “Bring it to me, and I’ll give you five million. No, make it ten million! Ten million to start a new life wherever you want!”
