EMMA's POV :

"There it is, your baby," Dr. Martin, our OB, pointed at the screen and I let out a gasp in response.
I was lying on the observation bed, Ian was standing next to me, and our eyes were glued to the screen. I was eighteen weeks along now and it was so interesting to see how my baby had been developing. It was larger than I remembered it and we could start seeing little features.
"You can see the head right here, and the hand," Dr. Martin pointed to the image resembling a tiny hand.
"Is that a wave?" Ian chuckled.
"I think the baby's waving at us," I giggled in agreement. The little hand was moving from side to side like it was waving at us. It was the cutest thing ever.
"And here is the heartbeat," Dr. Martin did a few clicks and suddenly we heard a loud thumping noise.
"Wow..." I gaped as I listened to the sound.
"This is so crazy," Ian shook his head and the biggest smile was playing on his face.
"The baby's heart is healthy, you're doing a good job, mommy and daddy," Dr. Martin smiled to the both of us. Then she moved the probe around again and the image changed. "And over here, you can see the little feet,"
Those were the cutest little feet I've ever seen!
"Would you like to know the gender of the baby?" Dr. Martin asked suddenly.
Ian and I exchanged a look. This was something we discussed a few weeks back. My friends were telling me that I shouldn't find out the gender and do a gender reveal party instead, but I didn't know if I could wait that long. I wanted to know so bad.
"Or I can it put in a little envelope so you can find out later?" she asked again, gauging our reactions.
I turned to Ian and said, "I'm gonna hate not knowing,"
"Me too," he sighed in agreement.
"I mean, there are enough surprises in life already,"
"I agree," he nodded his head.
"Alright, so you want me to tell you?" Dr. Martin asked.
Ian and I shared another look before turning to her and said, "Yes,"
Dr. Martin smiled from ear to ear as she said, "Okay, your baby is a..."

After our visit to the doctor, Ian and I decided to hit the mall to get some food and some things for the baby and me. Our baby was coming in four and a half months, so we had a lot of things we needed to prepare. We also wanted to set up a nursery, so we needed to figure out the logistics. And on top of that, I was having an extreme Chipotle craving, so that part nonnegotiable.
"So, I think we should start planning for a registry," I said as we made our way into the mall. It was the day before Christmas Eve, so the mall was packed with people and all sorts of Christmas events.
"Okay," he nodded and grabbed my hand, making sure we weren't gonna get separated in the midst of all these people.
"Oh, I also need to get myself some bigger clothes,"
"Okay,"
"Oh, and remind me to call the girls, we're thinking of doing a baby shower next month or in February at the latest. We can't do March, it's too close to the delivery date, I'm gonna lose my shit-"
"Okay, relax, baby," he chuckled lightly. He looked so cool and calm while I was on the verge of hyperventilating. "Don't stress. We got this,"
Letting out a sigh, I told him, "I really don't wanna mess this up,"
"We're not gonna mess it up," he said to me reassuringly.
I knew it was useless to fret and be anxious, but I just wanted to make sure that everything would be ready for the baby. Maybe I was doing what Ian was doing at the beginning of the pregnancy when he bought the entire prenatal supplement in the drug store because he wanted to make sure I got everything I needed. Yeah, he went a little extra, but I understood why. When you love someone so much, you just wanna make sure they get the best things that you can offer.
After finding out the baby's gender, it became clear to me what specific things we needed to prepare. It would've been fun and exciting to not know the gender and do a gender reveal party, but Ian and I couldn't handle the stress of not knowing any longer. We were too darn excited, and perhaps the biggest reason why we wanted to know the gender of our baby was so we could prepare the nursery. This baby was our firstborn after all. We wanted to make sure we were doing everything right.
Although I was told there was no such thing.
"Oh my goodness," I squealed as I picked out the cutest pair of yellow shoes in the baby clothes section. "Look at this little baby shoes, it's so little!"
"Yeah, they're so small," Ian stifled a laugh.
These pair of shoes were not even as big as the palm of my hands. I remembered the tiny feet we saw on the ultrasound earlier and I couldn't help but feel emotional. I mean, wouldn't it be so adorable if those tiny feet were to wear these shoes?
"Babe, you're not gonna start crying in the middle of the store, are you?" Ian asked me cautiously when he noticed the frown on my face.
"But it's so little..." my voice cracked.
I couldn't help myself. My hormones were raging and these shoes were the most adorable things I ever laid my eyes on. The thought of these shoes on my baby's feet brought me to tears. Yes, I was crying in the middle of Baby Gap.
"Come here," Ian let out a sigh and pulled me into a hug. People were watching, but who cares? They didn't know how cute these shoes would look on my baby's feet.
Ian stroked my hair gently as he held onto me tight. I clung to his body and my hands were still clutching the pair of shoes.
I know I haven't met you yet, baby, but I already know you're gonna have all my heart and soul.
"Wha-? What was that?" Ian flinched when he felt something moving against his stomach.
"You felt that? That was the baby kicking!" I said as my hand went to touch my stomach. I was starting to feel more movement in my stomach, but I didn't think it was strong enough for Ian to notice. But apparently, it was.
"Holy shit," he muttered as his hand went to my stomach. He felt another bump and he flinched in shock. The biggest smile played on his face as he said, "That's so crazy,"
Ian kept his hands on my stomach and the baby got more and more excited. I never felt a kick this strong before. Ian's hands were shaking as he felt the jolt again. His eyes started to glisten and his mouth quivered.
"Ian, you're not crying in the middle of the store, are you?" I asked him as I reached for his face.
He rolled his eyes at my comment and pulled me into a kiss, distracting me from the fact that he was, in fact, crying.
"Just shut up and kiss me,"

With the baby's arrival quickly approaching, Ian and I were scrambling trying to get everything perfect and ready. Some days I felt good and accomplished, but other days I just felt bloated and gassy and I didn't feel getting up from the bed.
I was still working at the magazine and Ian was still teaching and painting. In the midst of our busy schedule, we'd always make time to go to our doctor's appointments, attend baby classes, and catch up on a lot of parental reading. It was intense how drastic a baby's presence can change your life. I was learning so many new things and information each day, it felt like it was never gonna end.
Speaking of learning new things, I learned a new piece of information about pregnancy today when I was browsing the internet. This article said that during pregnancy, women have higher levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, which in addition to supporting our continuing pregnancy, also increases vaginal lubrication, blood flow to the pelvic area and the sensitivity of our breasts and nipples; all of which can make you feel like one horny mamma.
I don't know about you, but between all these hormones and having someone as gorgeous as Ian walk around the house in that cute butt of his, the result was pretty self explanatory. So today, as soon as we got back home from the mall, I didn't even wait a minute before I jumped his bone.
"Baby, aren't you tired?" he chuckled as I climbed on top of him on the couch. "We've been out all day,"
"No," I shook my head and kissed his neck. "Are you tired?"
He let out a muffled groan and said, "Not at all,"
Our lips met and our tongues began to tangle. Our hands began to busily move between each other's bodies, roaming and caressing each inch of skin. My whole body was hypersensitive, so the slightest touch of him was sending shivers up and down my spine.
The next thing I knew, our clothes were on the ground. Ian's mouth was on the sweet spot on my neck and his hands were fondling and massaging my sensitive breasts. I arched myself towards him, whimpering and moaning under his touch. My hips started to grind on top of him and I felt him building up, getting as hard as steel.
I had to admit, between our busy schedules and the baby, we hadn't been having sex a lot lately. So please, excuse my behavior, but I was hungry.
"Shit, you're soaking wet," he muttered when he slipped a finger inside me effortlessly. "You've been holding yourself back, huh?"
"Uh-huh," I replied shamelessly. "All week long,"
Ian shook his head and let out a chuckle. Normally, I wouldn't be so forward, but hey, this was a desperate time. Guiding his length over my entrance with my hand, I rubbed and grazed his tip with my swollen pussy lips before pushing himself into me. Ian let out an animalistic groan as he watched my core engulfing his length inch by inch.
Oh yes, this is what I've been craving for all week.
I took a moment to let my walls adjust to his size before I started moving, grinding slowly up and down. Ian put one hand on my breast and another hand on my stomach. His lips went back to attacking my nipple and the hand that was on my breast began squeezing me, relishing my fuller breasts.
Everything inside me started to burn. I felt such warmth I had never felt before. It started in my stomach, and it was pulsing all around. I rocked my hips harder to meet Ian's upward thrusts, and that feeling was growing more and more intense.
"Ah! Ian! I'm gonna cum!"
Before I could think of anything else, suddenly I was hit with the strongest wave of climax. It was such a force that I was reduced to a whimpering and crying being. Ian wrapped me tightly in his arms as he continued his strong thrusts into me, pushing my orgasm even further.
"It's okay, baby girl," he cooed gently in my ears. "I got you,"

That night, I was stirring in bed feeling cold. Normally, Ian would wrap his arms around me as we sleep, but tonight I felt nothing but cold air. Prying my eyes open, I noticed that he wasn't on the bed. The clock showed that it was 4.30 AM, so it was definitely still too early for him to get up.
I pulled a robe from the chair and wrapped it around my body before I left the room. I heard noises coming from his office and the light was on. Well, technically, the room wasn't gonna be his office anymore. He moved all his art stuff to the studio and to the living room so we could turn the office into a nursery.
"Ian? What are you doing here?" I asked as I pushed the door open.
I gasped in shock as soon as I saw what was inside. Ian had painted the entire wall with this combination of pastel pink, purple, and blue. He did such a great job painting it, the walls looked like an art piece.
"Ah, babe, why are you up?" he said as he strode over to me. His white t-shirt was covered in paint and dust. "You're not supposed to see this until tomorrow,"
"What is all this?" I asked as my eyes darted to the stack of boxes in the middle of the room and something else behind it.
"I've been working on it in secret for the past week. It's supposed to be your Christmas present... well... surprise!" he said with a sheepish grin.
Ian moved away and let me have a better sight of the thing that was behind the boxes. I gasped in shock when I saw the cutest little white crib standing there.
"You built a crib?" I asked him.
"Do you like it?" he asked back.
"It's the most gorgeous crib I've ever seen," I said as my hand went to touch it.
It's a real crib. A real baby crib. Where my baby would sleep...
"Think the baby will like it?" he asked cautiously.
As if to answer him, I felt another kick in my stomach.
"I'm sure she will," I look up at him and smiled reassuringly. "She's gonna love it,"
"You think so?" he asked again.
I nodded my head enthusiastically.
I don't think so, I know so. I could already tell. Because she's her daddy's little girl.
