IAN's POV :

"Come with me," I said with my hand out to her.

She paused for a moment, taking one last look at the wedding party, and then she took my hand. We got up as quietly as we could and slipped past the wedding crowd. Thankfully, everyone's attention was at the bride and groom, so people didn't notice us leaving.

I had to admit, I was a little jealous when I found out that Emma was still in contact with her ex. I didn't know much about the guy except that he was French and Emma met him when she did her semester abroad. He followed her all the way to the states, and they dated for about eight months before he proposed to her. Clearly, he must really like her.

Emma admitted that he loved Elliott too at some point, but her love for him was nowhere near her love for me. I'd like to think so, but when I saw her cry at his wedding, I was feeling stupid and insecure like a little bitch.

Walking out of the venue, I led her to the direction of the promenade. She had stopped crying, but she was still quiet. I could tell that a lot of things were going through her head right now.

"You wanna tell me what's really bothering you?" I asked cautiously as we walked down the paved road along the beach.

She had her head down and she played with her fingers nervously. "Ian, we said that we'd come here to get away and think about our next move, but all we did was get away. We haven't even talked about our next move," she paused for a moment before saying, "Do we even have a next move?"

I wasn't expecting this kind of question at all. My hand went to rake my hair and I stammered an answer, "I-I don't know what to say. I mean, it's not like we haven't been thinking, but there's nothing we can say or do to fix the situation right now," I sighed and shrugged. "If they come around, they come around. If they don't... they don't,"

That was not the answer Emma wanted to hear. She threw her gaze out to the ocean and her eyes glistened again.

"This is a difficult choice," I said, reaching for her face to see mine. "I know you said you wanna be with me, but I also know how much you must be missing your parents. So, if you wanna leave..."

She shook her head firmly and said, "I don't wanna leave you. Not now, not ever,"

"I'm saying... if you wanna leave to be with your parents, I'd understand," I said anyway. "You can choose your parents over me. I won't hold it against you,"

Shit. That was hard to say. I didn't wanna have to say that and give her an option to leave me, but she was faced between choosing her family and me. I'd understand if she wants to choose the former and not the latter. It would suck so fucking bad, especially that we've gotten this far, but I'd understand. I can't compete with family.

"No, don't say that!" she hissed and shook her head again. "I chose you, Ian. Forever and ever,"

I narrowed my eyes at her and studied her face intently. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that she loves me, I knew that. But it just felt unfair that because she loves me, she had to lose her family. I thought that with time things would get better, but everything was still the same.

Would they ever come around? I honestly don't know.

"Ian, do you remember that day when I came to New Jersey for the first time?" she asked suddenly, her gaze was out to the ocean as if she was remembering some distant memory of ours. "We went walking down the boardwalk at night, a place kinda similar to this,"

"Yeah, kinda similar," I chuckled drily.

Of course I remembered it. We had just broken up for the first time because I was trying to be a mature adult. I didn't think it was safe or healthy for her to be dating her teacher, so I ended our relationship. But then she came to New Jersey out of nowhere, and she convinced me that we should be together.

"You asked me why I came and I told you I came because I want you. I wanna be with you," she said again, repeating her exact words from that night. "Forget the school, forget the rules, and forget the world and everything in it. I said it then and I'm saying it again now,"

"But... this is different. This is your family we're talking about. I don't want you to have to lose them because of me,"

"I'm not gonna lose them," she said firmly. Maybe it came from a place of hope, or maybe denial. I wouldn't know. "Like you said, they love me and they want what's best for me. They just need some more time to accept everything. I just... wish it wouldn't take this long,"

Letting out a sigh, I pulled her into my arms and cooed. "I know, baby girl. I know,"

Honestly, I was relieved that she still chose to be with me despite everything. That was hella selfish of me, but whatever. I love this girl and I don't want her to ever leave me, so sue me.

"Ian... I'm not the only one feeling distant from my family because of our relationship. You're going through the same thing," she said softly into my chest, pausing for a moment before continuing, "Do you still wanna choose me too?"

"Of course, I still choose you. It's never even a question for me," I stated matter-of-factly. "Maybe I'm selfish or whatever, but if I have you, I don't need anything else in this world," and I paused for a beat before adding, "But, just maybe don't tell my ma that,"

She let out a little laugh. I was smiling as soon as I saw her smiling again. It was painful to see her cry and not be able to fix the problem. But at least, she was smiling again now.

"So, that's what you're upset about? Not being able to marry me? And not because your ex was marrying someone else?" I asked her.

"No, I'm happy for Elliott," she said reassuringly. "I'm just sad because when I looked at them, I wanted that to be us,"

I shook my head lightly and leaned my forehead against hers. I was laughing to myself internally. I felt totally stupid for being jealous and thinking that she was upset over some guy.

"That will be us someday, baby girl. I promise we're gonna get you your dream wedding, a hundred times more beautiful than this one," I said to her, and her smile grew wider.

Lacing our hands together, I promised her, "We just have to be patient a little while longer. But we'll be okay,"

She nodded her head knowingly and sighed, "We'll be okay,"

After talking things out, Emma felt a lot better and she wanted to go back to the wedding, so we did. The rest of the night went okay. We attended the ceremony, we ate and drank, danced a little bit, and I even got to talk to this guy, Elliott.

Elliott seemed like an okay guy. I could see how Emma would be with someone like him. He was one of those thoughtful nice guys. He was also easy to talk to. Honestly, he seemed fine, but I just couldn't help but be a little territorial with Emma when he was around, which was stupid since I was at his wedding. But whatever.

After the wedding, Emma and I went back to our room. It had been a long day today and we had to get up early again tomorrow to drive back. Once I got out of the shower, I saw Emma was already in bed and she was fast asleep. I lay next to her and cuddled her, thinking I was gonna get some sleep too. But weirdly enough, I couldn't sleep. My mind kept replaying the words she said to me earlier at the wedding.

"Do you think we'll ever have what they have?"

I wished I could say yes right there on the spot. God knows I wanted to give her everything she wants, I wanted her to have her dream wedding, and I wanted her to have it all. But this was out of my control. Only time could tell when our parents would come around, if they would ever come around.

It had been three weeks since we left the states and Emma's parents were still not talking to her. I tried talking to my mom, she took my calls, but she still sounded distant and cold.

We had obstacles that stood in the way of our relationship before. We had the school, we had the distance, but this was different. This was probably the most difficult one of all. Because to be very honest, I didn't know how we could still be together if our parents never come around.

We've been through hell and back to be together. But what if we don't make it out of this one?

I only got about three hours of sleep last night. It was horrible. By the time we had to get up and get going, my head was pounding and my eyes were so heavy, I could barely keep them open.

Emma was kind enough to take the drive back home. I told her I only needed like an hour nap and I'd take over the drive again. Emma was a good driver, I didn't have to worry about a thing. So, I sat on the passenger seat, reclined the seat as far as I could, and closed my eyes to catch some sleep.

She drove for about an hour before I woke up. I felt so much better after that nap. Looking up at her, I saw how the sunlight hit her skin and she was glowing so beautifully. She had a smile on her face and her hair was blowing in the wind.

She looks like a fucking movie star.

"You alright with driving?" I asked her.

"Yeah," she replied.

"I can take over if you want?"

"No, it's fine," she shook her head, "I'm enjoying this way too much,"

"Okay," I chuckled. "Let me know if you get tired and we'll switch,"

The car was speeding down the highway overlooking the ocean. We had a good upbeat song playing on the radio and the air was breezy and warm. Looking around, I had to admit, this was pretty cool. This looked like a scene from some movie.

I stared at Emma and how the wind was blowing on her face. My hand reached up instinctively and my fingers started caressing her cheek. She leaned her face into my hand and turned me, giving me a look I couldn't decipher.

"Ian, I have to tell you something," she said suddenly.

"What is it?"

Without warning, the car swerved suddenly and came to an abrupt halt on the side of the road.

"Whoa!" I gaped. I looked from side to side to make sure that we were all okay. Thankfully there were no cars behind us.

"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked her in wild confusion as she kept her head down.

"Ian..." she started, pausing for a moment and it only made me more anxious. "I've been thinking about it all night and all morning, and I've decided... I don't care if we never get married. I don't care if we don't have a wedding or some piece of paper that says we're husband and wife. You're still my husband, and you're still my everything. And someday... you're gonna be the father of my kids and we'll be a family,"

She looked up at me and her eyes glistened. My heart was breaking at her words, but also it felt so full. How was this possible?

"Emma..." I tried to say something smart or anything really, but I couldn't. I just froze in shock.

"So, let's just be together forever, no matter what," she said to me, gauging my reaction and asked, "Is that okay with you?"

I let out a deep breath and pulled her into my arms. In her ear, I whispered, "Baby girl, that's more than okay. That's all I ever wanted,"

She pulled away slightly and with the biggest smile on her face, she inched her lips towards mine and she kissed me. She kissed me like she had been holding it back for days. She kissed me with everything she got, and so I kissed her back with everything I got.

"Baby, what are you doing?" I looked at her quizzically as she broke the kiss and jumped from her seat over to mine.

"I want you, I want you right now," she said breathlessly as she straddled me. Her hands quickly went to unbuckle my seatbelt and my pants.

"Right here? In the middle of the road?"

"Is that gonna be a problem?" she said with a mischievous grin.

Sure, the road was empty now, but we were in a convertible car, so anyone who passed by us could see everything.

With that thought in mind, I shook my head at her and smirked. "Not at all,"

She let out a sharp gasp as I reached for her waist and pressed her body tightly against mine. My lips went to the sweet spot on her neck, kissing and sucking on it hard. She tipped her head back to give me more access, and I gladly took it.

My hands traveled to cup her ass and I gave them a gentle squeeze. She squirmed and started rocking her hips on my groin, causing me to growl involuntarily. She was only wearing a summer dress, so there was nothing between us except the little underwear she was wearing. Pushing her panties to the side, my fingers easily found her sopping wet entrance and I rubbed my thumb against her clit.

"Oh, Ian. Ah!" she moaned aloud as my fingers entered her.

She was so wet and warm, so ready for me. I was as hard as a rock too, totally ready for her. So without wasting time, I pulled my length out of my pants and positioned myself under her.

Ever the impatient girl, she didn't wait for me and just sheathed herself down in one move. She flinched in pain as she realized how much I was stretching her. But within seconds, her walls contracted and got adjusted to my size. She moaned softly as she felt my entire length inside her.

"Oh fĂșck, you feel so damn good," I said through gritted teeth.

She started rocking her hips slowly, before finding her pace and she quickened her movement. My hands grabbed her waist to keep her in place and my mouth went to her chest, kissing and sucking on her tits from over her dress. I pushed myself upwards to meet her movement and within seconds, she was brought to her orgasm.

She came down hard, clenching and screaming all around. And as she rode her orgasm down, she was still clenching on my shaft so tightly, it was sending me over the edge.

"Baby girl, you're gonna make me cum if you keep doing that,"

"So cum," she said simply. "Cum inside me, daddy,"

I was losing this one, for sure. How could I possibly keep it together with this girl on me, riding me like I was hers?

And I am hers.

So I gave in. And I gave her what was hers.
