Chapter 95: Murder Weapon Found

Ch. 95 / 193 Mar 05, 2025

Bryce woke up at dawn, he took a quick shower and dressed up. He grabbed his phone and stepped out of his room. He headed for the staircase and was about to exit the front door when he noticed the light in the living room was on. Knowing everyone was asleep, he curiously made his way into the living room to find out who was there. His eyes scanned the living room which appeared to be empty but his gaze fell on the door to the balcony which was slightly open. He walked towards the balcony and found his mother standing there over the railing with a cloth wrapped around her.

"Mum!" Bryce called out to her but she seemed to be lost in a deep thought.

Bryce got closer to her and tapped her on the shoulder snapping her out of her thinking.

"Mum, how long have you been standing here? It's only 3 in the morning," Bryce asked.

"I don't know. I couldn't sleep so I came here for some fresh air," Patricia replied. "And where are you going all dressed up?" she asked after scanning Bryce from head to toe.

"I was struggling to sleep so I decided to go back to my apartment," Bryce replied and Patricia shifted his gaze back to looking at the beautiful city.

"I wondered who would do such a thing to her?" Patricia said sadly still staring at the beautiful city.

"Angela is still hiding. Once we find her, we will have answers," Bryce said and Patricia turned to look at him with a frown.

"Bryce, do you seriously believe Angela has a hand in Elena's death?" Patricia asked, her tone was a bit intense.

"She was the last person to see her alive. And my sister died in front of the apartment where she lives," Bryce replied and Patricia slapped him across his face.

"You are beginning to sound like your father and I don't like it. Accusing people without evidence or just because you don't like them," Patricia said angrily staring straight at Bryce who looked surprised by the slap.

Bryce stared back at his mum with clenched teeth.

"I only met her once and it was just for a couple of minutes but even I can tell she can't do that. She can't pull a trigger on someone let alone talk of stabbing someone multiple times with a knife," Patricia said. "Do not be deceived Bryce, someone is after Angela. Elena just got in the way," she added and Bryce frowned.

"Are you by this statement saying Angela was the target?" Bryce asked with a frown.

"There was no water in my mouth when I spoke. Be careful Bryce. That woman is carrying your child. And I know you care about her. Do not do anything today that you will regret tomorrow," Patricia warned" If I were you, I would find her first before the police do," she added and left Bryce standing on the balcony.

Bryce stood there completely confused. Elena went to see Angela and got killed. Angela ran away from the hospital and she is still hiding to date. The innocent do not run, do they? Devon, his father believes Angela is guilty and before the death of Elena, he saw Angela as a deceiver. Patricia believes Angela is innocent and not capable of committing the crime she is suspected to have committed. These were the thoughts running through Bryce's mind and he was not sure what to believe.

Bryce processed everything and felt whatever he thought at this moment didn't matter but his mother was right about one thing. He needs to find Angela.

Bryce exited the balcony. He called Marcus and soon they were on their way back to his apartment in the Moore Estate. In the car, Bryce kept thinking.

He recalled the day Angela had walked into the interview room. She was simply dressed and looked very nervous. During the interview, she displayed a high level of intelligence which was good for business and this was why he selected her. Despite everything that happened since she assumed her position as his secretary, it was her idea that landed them Don Entertainment Industry. He found no flaw in her. Back at home, he married her because they slept together but she never used her position as his wife to dictate to others. She was strong-willed and defensive that was all. All of this started when his father found out about Angela. Was Angela just pretending all this while or this is just one big misunderstanding or this is the doing of his father who doesn't want him to be with Angela? If it is the latter, his father had gone too far to prove a point.

The car drove into the compound and was soon inside the garage. Bryce got out of the car and went upstairs to his room. It suddenly felt so empty with the absence of Angela.

It was soon morning, and Bryce was on his bed still thinking. He had not slept since he returned. It was a Sunday. Bryce felt at this moment he needed a powerful being. He left the apartment with Marcus and soon walked into a nearby church. Service had already ended. He went in to see the pastor.

"What brings you here?" the priest asked once he and Bryce were seated in his office.

"I am confused," Bryce replied.

"God can do all things including giving you peace," the priest said. "Would you like to share with me what is making you confused?" he asked.

Bryce went ahead and told the priest everything. The priest listened attentively without interruption.

"I see," the priest said once Bryce was done with his narration. "This is indeed confusing but like I said, there is nothing the good Lord can not do. We acquire knowledge on this earth which aids us in our day-to-day activities, but wisdom is a gift from God. Son, you need wisdom to make the right decision in this situation," he said.

"A life is lost and someone is behind this. Whoever is behind it, God knows. Do not jump to a hasty conclusion. Let the good Lord guide you. The truth always comes out and the innocent is vindicated," the priest said to Bryce and he only stared at him more confused.

"Let's pray," the priest said and opened his hand.

Bryce placed his hand in the priest's hand after a few seconds.

"Dear Lord, I thank you for the life of Mr Bryce Moore. I thank you for his family and I thank you for this day. Father, you know what has happened to his family, I pray for your peace and healing of the pain caused by this loss. Father, there is a reason you allowed this to happen but in this let your name be glorified. Father, I commit your son into your hands. He could have chosen to stay at home, but you guided him here for a reason. Please, Lord, let him not leave here the same way he came. Father, guide his heart and guide his mind. Father let your name be glorified and bring peace and healing to the Moore family. Amen," the priest prayed.

"Amen," Bryce responded.

"Son, you need to be strong. Do not be deceived and don't jump to hasty conclusions. Take your time and analyze all the situations before you make a decision. If you make the wrong decision, more lives will be lost," the priest warned and Bryce frowned.

"How do I know I am making a wrong decision?" Bryce asked still confused.

"Don't make a hasty decision. Give yourself time to look into the situation," the priest said and Bryce nodded.

"Thank you," Bryce said and left the priest's office.

"Let's go home," Bryce said to Marcus once he was out of the church and standing close to his parked car.

"Sir, the gun that was used on Ms Elena has been found including the knife used in stabbing her," Marcus informed him and Bryce who was about to open the car door paused.

"Where did you see that?" Bryce asked and Marcus showed him the news on his phone.

Murder Weapon Found.

The weapon that was used in killing Ms Elena Moore has been found. The weapon was found in a huge bin six blocks away from the place of the crime. It appears the murderer threw the weapon into the bin to get rid of it. Narrating how the weapon was found, a refuse collector had only come to empty the bin when he found a cat inside it. He noticed the cat was busy pulling at something. He had thought it was food. The cat got away when he tried to get to the cat but it was at this point that he saw something wrapped in a cloth. Curiously he unwrapped it only to find a gun and a knife. He quickly called the police to the scene. Both the gun and knife have been confirmed as the weapon used to commit the crime. The weapons are currently with the police. According to the chief inspector, with the weapon found, they would soon find the criminal.

Bryce read all that while standing by the car. He got into the car after handing Marcus's phone back to him.

"Let's go to the police station. I want more details on this," Bryce said to Marcus once he was also behind the wheel.

"Yes boss," Marcus replied and he put the car into motion.
