The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 792

Ch. 782 / 790 May 05, 2026

Despite Lyra’s relentless efforts, Kleon’s progress in training remained stagnant. Day after day, he faltered during sparring sessions. His strikes were weak, his stance unsteady. Lyra’s frustration grew as she watched him struggle to meet even the basic expectations of an Alpha-in-training.

One particularly grueling afternoon, Lyra watched as Kleon’s sparring partner disarmed him with ease. “Again,” she barked, her voice sharp as a whip. But Kleon hesitated, wiping sweat from his brow as he avoided her gaze.

The pack members gathered around the training grounds whispered among themselves.

“He’ll never be like his mother or his father…may his sould rest in peace,” one murmured.

“Too soft,” another added.

Kleon’s ears burned with shame as their words reached him. He wanted to speak up, to defend himself, but the lump in his throat kept him silent.

The situation reached a boiling point when the elders summoned Lyra to a meeting in the grand hall. Seated around a long wooden table, their expressions were grave. The eldest among them, a wiry man named Draven, spoke first.

“Luna Lyra,” he began, his tone measured but firm. “We’ve observed Kleon’s training. His progress is... underwhelming.”

Lyra’s jaw tightened, but she said nothing, waiting for him to continue.

“The pack is losing faith in his ability to lead,” Draven continued. “If he doesn’t show significant improvement within the next month, we will have no choice but to begin training another candidate for the role of Alpha.”

A murmur of agreement rippled through the room. Lyra’s hands curled into fists beneath the table.

“He is my son,” she said, her voice steady but tinged with anger. “He will lead this pack when the time comes. I will make sure of it.”

“Your loyalty to him is commendable,” another elder said gently. “But loyalty alone cannot secure this pack’s future.”

Lyra left the meeting in silence, the weight of the elders’ ultimatum pressing heavily on her shoulders. She found Kleon sitting alone near the edge of the training grounds, his gaze fixed on the horizon.

“The elders don’t believe in you,” she said bluntly as she approached. “They think you’re not fit to lead.”

Kleon’s eyes widened, his face paling. “What did you tell them?” he asked, his voice trembling.

“I told them they were wrong,” she replied. “But you need to prove it. You need to show them the strength I know you have.”
