As soon as we arrived at Malcolm's penthouse building, Malcolm got out of the car without saying a word and strode inside the building leaving me to follow him like a homeless dog.
I hurried after him, but Malcolm made no move to acknowledge me; he kept his gaze straight forward.
Once we reached the elevator, Malcolm stabbed the call button once before the SW
the doors of the elevator opened again,Malcolm marched out with me in tow. As soon as we reached the penthouse, Malcolm slid the key card in the slot and threw the door open before entering.
Even though I had been in Malcolm's penthouse once before, the opulence of the entire penthouse still took my breath away.
"Your room is to the left, before you go to your room let me lay down some ground rules which you better not ignore.
"Number one, never think about going into my room or my study, you're only allowed to go in the kitchen, the library and the living and dining room, don't even think about going into any other room.
"Second, don't ever touch my things, let alone move them anywhere, if you fail to do this trust me you won't like what'll happen to you.
"Third, try not to piss me off, you don't want to see me angry," Malcolm finished stating the rules.
I don't want to see you at all, I thought after the last rule.
After his little speech, Malcolm walked to the room on the right side and slammed the door shut making me flinch.
Even though I wanted to run away, I knew that Malcolm would do something to me or my baby, which was the only reason why I wasn't running for the door.
Trying not to let Malcolm's words hurt me, but failing, I made my way to what was going to be my room from now on.
I opened the door and the room nearly took my breath away. It was the most beautiful room I had ever seen in my entire life.
The walls were painted white while the furniture was made of some dark wood. The bedding was white with hot pink pillows. The whole room looked as if it belonged to a princess.
Even though I didn't know whether my baby was a girl or boy, but upon looking at this room I really wished I would have a girl. This room would be perfect for her.
My lips curved in a small smile. Even if Malcolm hated my guts, he was still kind enough to give me this beautiful room.
Shaking my head, I ventured over to the bed and laid down on it. As soon as my back hit the mattress, I breathed a sigh of bliss. The mattress on the bed was so soft I felt as if I was lying on a cloud.
I wanted nothing more than to sleep. Laying on this comfortable bed, I felt so relaxed that my eyes started to close on their own accord. However, the sound of the door hitting the wall jolted me awake. I opened my eyes to see Malcolm standing in the room.
"Wow, enjoying the feel of a comfortable bed?" he asked arrogantly.
"I - I - sorry," I muttered standing up.
"Your stuff is here, you can move your things in the closet," he told me.
"Umm, right, okay I will, thank you," I replied softly. Even though I didn't like Malcolm I couldn't ignore the fact that he had given me a nice place, a nice room to stay in. Even if he was only letting me stay at his place because I was pregnant with his baby, I was grateful that he was helping me.
"By the way, what were you doing?" Malcolm questioned.
"Nothing, I - I felt a little tired so I thought maybe I would rest a little bit," I answered softly.
Something flashed in Malcolm's eyes, but it was gone before I could figure out what it exactly was.
I thought he would say something but he turned and was about to leave the room but I stopped him.
"Malcolm?"
"Yes?"
"I'm going to leave for work at night, can you give me a spare set of keys so I can let myself in when I come back?"
Malcolm's gaze hardened and I gulped in fear. "You are not going to work, do you understand me?"
"What? Why not? I have to work for the baby, I need money to give my baby a comfortable life," I argued.
Malcolm gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing in anger. "Listen to me carefully because I would not be repeating myself. You are not going to work while you're carrying my baby, and as for the comfortable life you want to give the baby, then I'm going to do that, you are going to make sure no harm comes to the baby, is that clear?"
"If I can't work outside then I'm going to work here. I don't care if I have to work as your maid or whatever, but I'm going to work and you're going to pay me," I responded firmly.
"Fine, you can work as my maid, but if any harm comes to my baby, trust me I won't think twice about sending you to prison," Malcolm warned.
"This is my baby I'd die before I'd let any harm come to my baby," I responded evenly.
Without saying a word, Malcolm turned and left the room, leaving me to my own thoughts.
Oh God, how would I survive this?
