Annabelle was going to stay the night. Malcolm informed me after I had cleaned the dining table.
I wasn't sure where exactly Annabelle would be sleeping. Would she sleep with Malcolm in his room or would she be sleeping in a different room? Maybe I should ask Malcolm, I just wish he does not yell at me.
After cleaning the kitchen, I went in search of Malcolm, praying that he would be alone so I could talk to him without worrying about Annabelle's reaction.
Thankfully, I found him sitting on the leather couch alone, Annabelle no where in sight.
"Mr. Bennett?" I tried to get his attention.
Malcolm looked at me with questioning eyes, making me slightly uncomfortable.
"Uh..is Madam Annabelle going to be sleeping in your room or in a separate room?" I quickly asked.
"Why would she sleep in my room?" Malcolm asked.
"N - No reason, I just wanted to know," I replied.
"Well she is going to sleep in the guest room," he told me.
"Okay, I'll go make sure the guest room is ready for her." I turned to leave before Malcolm's voice stopped me.
"Once you're done come to me," Malcolm told me.
My heart started beating fast at hearing his words. What did he want to talk to me about? Was he going to insult me again? Was he going to tell me to get out of his house?
With my heart still pounding, I went and prepared the guest room for Annabelle. I tried to make my work last longer, prolonging the inevitable, but what else was I suppose to do, I was scared of what Malcolm wanted to talk to me about.
Eventually, I ran out of things to do in the guest room. Taking a deep shuddering breath, I left the guest room and went in the living room.
A sigh of relief escaped me when I did not see Malcolm lounging around on the couch. I figured he had probably forgotten about the fact that he told me to come to him. With a small smile of relief, I turned to go back to my room, but Malcolm's voice froze me in my tracks.
"Oh, you're free, good, come here," Malcolm said.
My heart jumped in my throat while fear settled like a lead weight in my belly. Wringing my hands, I shuffled over to where Malcolm stood.
Without saying a word, Malcolm took a hold of my wrist and led me all the way to one of the rooms that he had strictly forbade me to enter: his bedroom.
Throwing open the door, Malcolm led me inside his room. My eyes widened when I stepped foot inside Malcolm's personal space - his sanctuary.
It was a masculine room with dark walls and a huge, dark bed in the center of the room with white sheets and pillows. There was a floor to ceiling mirror against one wall, and a bathroom and a closet.
"You can change in the bathroom," Malcolm told me, going over to the bed and pulling away the covers to get inside the bed.
I just stood there, puzzled. What was Malcolm talking about? Why did he want me to change? And change what? Clothes? Myself?
Malcolm glanced at me with a frown on his face, which only had my fear increasing. God, he was going to yell at me again.
"Did you not hear me? Go change, I'm tired and want to sleep," Malcolm said.
"Change what?" I asked softly.
"Your clothes. Change into your night wear, then we can sleep," he answered.
My heart stopped beating at hearing his words. Did I hear him right? He wanted me to sleep with him? He wanted to sleep with me? No, no, there had to be a reason for this, Malcolm wouldn't just up and change his mind, there had to be a reason behind this.
"Why? I'm your maid, Mr. Bennett," I said to Malcolm.
"You're not only my maid, you're the mother of my unborn child, so stop talking and get in bed," Malcolm responded.
"No," I said.
Malcolm's eyes flashed in anger, but I stood my ground. I was not going to sleep with him until he told me the reason he wanted to sleep with me.
"No?" Malcolm repeated in deadly calm.
"No, not until you tell me why you want me to sleep with you," I replied, my heart racing.
Malcolm sighed in annoyance. "Annabelle is staying the night, that's why you have to sleep with me, in the morning I would tell her that you are pregnant with my baby and I would finally get rid of her," he told me.
"You told her I was nothing to you, why would you tell her I'm pregnant with your baby?" This man was so selfish.
"Oh so you heard that? But to answer your question, I need to get rid of her anyways, so now I have the perfect reason," he responded.
Anger and hurt flared inside me. So he was planning to use me in order to get rid of his girlfriend. How selfish could one man be?
"No, I'm not sleeping with you," I said.
Malcolm glared at me. "Get in bed right now or you're not going to like what would happen next," Malcolm warned.
"Ha, threats, that's all you know, but they won't work against me now, I'm not sleeping with you, Mr. Bennett," I told him. I was surprised at my bravery.
I turned to walk out of the door but Malcolm's voice stopped me.
"Get in bed now, Ariana, or you'll regret it," he threatened, but I was done being nice.
"Good night, Mr. Bennett." I opened the door.
"You are going to listen to me, you live under my roof," he nearly shouted.
"I never asked to live under your roof," I responded. Maybe this was the perfect opportunity to get out of here. Maybe I would do it tomorrow.
"Good night, Mr. Bennett," I said and left his bedroom, closing the door behind me.
Tomorrow I'll get out of here.
