She was smart and quick-witted enough to be Alex's woman. Watching Gavin being fooled by by his woman in a simple trick, Alex smiled proudly.
After Lita snatched Gavin's phone, she immediately took a few steps backward to a safe place where Gavin couldn't reach her with his long arm. Though she was still shaky, she held her breath and dialed 911 immediately.
Gavin saw the number she dialed. He came to his senses instantly and immediately waved his hand to the monitor and shouted, "Block the signal! Block the signal!"
As soon as Lita heard a female police's voice who picked up the phone, the line was disconnected and the beep sound followed. No matter how she tried to call again, she could not get through.
After being tricked by Lita, although Gavin's face was covered by the mask, from his still position, one could see that he was furious. He planned to play with Lita and Alex, but he didn't expect to be tricked by Lita instead. He guessed that the hateful guy in the monitoring room must be grinning from ear to ear at this time.
Alex did grin, but he was not so surprised and he didn't grin from ear to ear. When he looked at the woman in the monitor, his eyes narrowed his eyes and the expression in his eyes were even more unreadable.
Gavin seemed to be extremely discomfited after being fooled by Lita. It was okay if he couldn't defeat Alex, because Alez was a guy who was big on playing tricks! But now he was even outwitted by his woman...Gavin felt that he lost face big time.
The heavy iron gate was opened and another strong man also wearing head mask came in and grabbed the cell phone from Lita. When the iron gate was opened, Lita no longer cared about fighting with them about the phone. When the man came to grab it, she loosened her hand and saw her chance, bent down and dodged the the man, and rushed to the open gate.
"Ah..." Before she could get out of the gate, Lita screamed and broke out in a cold sweat.
'What the hell is that?"
'A lion? A dog?"
Gavin was holding the rope of an animal that looked like a lion from the distance and looked like a dog when you got close to it! Its fur was the red color of rust, and it had a huge head, with a broad face, yellowish dark eyes, short but wide mouth with thick corners. Its thick and long furs made it look like an African lion, and it stood there with its sturdy chest and menacing eyes.
Its was majestic, forbidding, with an air of a king.
Lita immediately realized what that animal was. It was a species of Tibetan mastiff whose head resembled a lion's.
With only one glance, Lita's feet began to tremble uncontrollably. She could imagine that if the Tibetan mastiff gave her leg a bit, her leg would be finished with a click.
The Tibetan mastiff was called 'Gary', which was Gavin's dearly loved pet. Usually he would take Gary with him when he went out. This time it did him great help - it frightened Alex's woman!
"Howl..." The Tibetan mastiff let out a deep roar.
The only way out being blocked by the huge Tibetan mastiff, and Lita stepped backward in horror.
"So you are afraid now?" Gavin enjoyed seeing her terrified. Ordinary people would be scared out of their wits and ran away when they saw a large dog. "I'll give you one last chance. If you try to fool me again, you will be Gary's dinner!"
Lita was so scared that her heart almost jumped out of her throat. The giant dog really scared her out of her wits.
The mastiffs roared at Lita incessantly, and tried to throw itself at her. Lita had retreated to the sofa, and there was no more room for her to retreat. She was afraid that if Gavin loosened his grip on the rope, and the mastiffs would break free and rush to her...
"Please...hold it tighter." Lita was so scared that she began to tremble as she spoke.
In the face of a big dog whom you couldn't reason with, no matter how eloquent or quick- witted you are, you would find there was nothing you could do.
In the end, the phone number Lita chose to call was Alex's. In fact, when Gavin gave her the first chance, she instinctively thought of Alex. Ethan was seriously ill and could not even get out of the treatment room. As for her uncle Jack, he might call the police, but it was not possible for him to bring one hundred million dollars to save her.
Lita didn't know if Alex would take out a hundred million dollars to save her or not. She didn't think she was so important in his heart and she didn't expect him to sacrifice so great financially to save her. She just hoped he would call the police after receiving the phone call.
The phone was put on speaker so both Lita and Gavin could hear.
Obviously, this was a game. Ethan planned it, and Ben organized and implemented it. He, Gavin, was just a small mediator. Therefore, it was certain that Alex would play by the rules.
In this game, the only one who was kept in the dark and took it for real was Lita. She didn't know that this was a premeditated game, so her response was genuine. All her action was spontaneous.
In the monitoring room, Alex received the phone call from Gavin. Alex was very satisfied that the woman chose him at the most critical moment. At least this woman thought of him the first time when she was in danger.
Perhaps there was another reason why she chose him. After careful consideration and weighing, she finally chose Alex, because though Alex was not the person she wanted the most to save her, but he was the most suitable person to save her!
"Mr. Alex, your woman is in my hand. We need a ransom of one hundred million dollars. Bring it now, or your woman will become the dinner of my Tibetan mastif," Gavin said in roguish tone.
"I don't think you have the guts to do that!" Alex said in a deep voice.
"Alex, don't be so arrogant! Don't you believe me? Gary, this woman is yours!" Gavin deliberately loosened the rope a little in his hand. The Tibetan mastiff rushed closer to Lita on the sofa.
"Ah..." Lita screamed in horror. She climbed on the sofa nimbly, sat on the back of the sofa, and even curled her legs up. "Don't come over...Don't come over! I'm not eatable...not eatable!"
When the woman's horrible scream came into Alex's ears, his heart inexplicably tightened. Perhaps he knew that Gavin would not let Gaby bite this woman, but she would definitely be frightened.
"Be careful that I stew it!" As Alex roared, he had already rushed out of the monitoring room.
Just as Lita was confronting the Tibetan mastiff desperately, she saw Alex-this man once again landed in front of her like a god!
