My Alpha's Mark

131 Loosen up

Ch. 131 / 206 Jan 27, 2026

Jake

Don’t even.

What?

Don’t do that.

Do what?

Don’t try and play innocent with me.

I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Alpha.

Viktor.

What?

Viktor.

I know your name.

So why not use it?

Why can’t I call you Alpha?

No one said you can’t call me Alpha.

Why do I have to call you Viktor?

Are you seriously arguing with me?

Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Viktor.

I don’t make promises I can’t keep, Jake.

I laughed through the link. If Jason could laugh, I’m sure he would. Instead, he made a huffing sound. My eyes remained on Flashes back as he ran in front of me.

It was just the two of us out here but we were working. Viktor wasn’t the type of person to skip out on his duty and have fun. I didn’t have to call his bluff. It wasn’t happening.

Mentally sighing, visions of the last night at the cabin filled my mind. We’d had fun and had been able to relax. There was no responsibilities or duties there.

Before I could let myself get lost in the positions and the images, I shut it down. I was starting to get aroused and the last thing I needed was to have Jamie and the Deltas present for that.

I wish… That would be amazing right now but seeing as we’re working. That won’t happen.

What could be more important than this moment?

I don’t want them here.

They need to be here. Loosen up, my little beta.

Oh yes, now that you’ve told me to loosen up, I’ll do just that.

I didn’t try to hide the sarcasm, he’d be able to spot it a mile away anyway. Viktor knew me more than I knew myself and vise versa. I’m sure he knew why I was feeling the way I was without even asking.

Internally, I rolled my eyes. Viktor couldn’t see me but the way his body twitched told me he didn’t need to see me to know. Was I pushing it? Possibly.

Is that attitude I hear?

Sure is.

I see.

Do you think it’s that easy to relax? You of all people should know.

Right, we were alone. It wasn’t often that I got alone time with Viktor on pack lands. I needed to get a few things off of my chest and it was now or never.

As Kacie called it, the words came up like word vomit. The floodgates opened and the questions gushed out. They fell from my lips one after the other.

It didn’t matter how they sounded, it didn’t matter if I let out my insecurities or sounded crazy. I needed to get these words out and off my chest. If I didn’t, it would only make things worse later when we were alone.

Better here than letter. I didn’t want to stress Kacie out. Some of the things I needed to get off of my chest were meant for only him anyway.

How do you feel about her?

What is this about, Jake?

How do you feel about Clara?

Are you being serious right now?

Yes. Her presence makes me feel threatened.

Do you think I’d fuck her?

No…

Good answer. So what’s the problem?

It’s not easy for me having her here.

Why is that, Jake?

In the beginning, there was Kacie. I’ve always been on the sidelines watching you. I’ve watched you with your mate and I had to watch you with your destined.

I rejected her.

Yes and while that’s great, it doesn’t change the fact that I’ve never really had a chance. You’ve shared something with the two of them that I’ll never have. You were fated. While I-

Flash came to an abrupt stop and I struggled to stop so I didn’t run into him. He did a 360 and faced me, his eyes glinted mischievously as he stared at me. Flash shifted and turned into Viktor. My eyes searched the surrounding area, Jamie and the Deltas were nowhere in sight.

What’s going on?

Viktor ignored me, his shoulders tensed. Viktor stood in all of his naked glory and Jason wanted nothing more than to bow his head and offer his neck. Pussy.

“You’re not one to talk. Don’t act like you don’t like submitting to our alpha,” Jason said. I fought the need to submit to him. Instead, I let my eyes trail down his body.

His broad shoulders, muscular chest, and body I’d like to praise. I repeated my question via mind-link and he ignored it again. My eyes found his and the anger as he glared back at me was unwarranted.

“Shift,” he demanded. When I hesitated, a growl rumbled in his throat. I was defiant and I fought his command. “Shift, now.”

Jason whined and I gave in. Taking control, I shifted back into human form. I stood naked in front of my alpha but I didn’t bow my head, I didn’t lower myself for him.

It was just us out here and I was feeling rebellious. I wanted his attention, I wanted him to come out and explain why the hell we had to stop and shift in the middle of nowhere.

Viktor made his way toward me, his long strides closed the distance between us. I fought the urge to let my eyes drop as I glared back at him. His hand shot out and gripped my throat.

“Who gets to decide who’s fated?” Viktor said. He leaned in and I could feel his breath on my face. “Yes, the Goddess does. While she made Kacie for me I don’t need her to tell me you were made for me. I don’t need a mate bond to tell me you’re mine.”

His words affected me and I tried not to melt in front of him. His hand on my throat tightened and I nodded. I reached up and held onto his arm with both hands.

“I’m your God,” he growled. “Say it.”

“You’re my God.”

“Good boy. You don’t need to worry about what anyone else says. You don’t need to pay attention to the thoughts in your head that are telling you otherwise. I don’t know where you got this idea of you never had a chance from but you’ve always had a place in my life.”
