Nora’s POV
A week passes. The whispers fade into background noise.
I wear Danny's jacket to every class now. Let them stare. Let them talk. Madison from economics looks at me like I have grown a second head every time I walk past. The girls who used to invite me to charity brunches have stopped texting. My father's friends' daughters cross to the other side of the hallway when they see me coming.
I stopped caring somewhere around day three.
The leather smells like him. Motor oil and soap and something underneath that makes my stomach tighten every time I breathe in. I pull it closer around my shoulders and keep walking.
Tonight, Danny shows up at my apartment with takeout and a grin that makes my knees weak. We eat on my bed, containers spread between us, chopsticks battling over the last dumpling. He wins. I steal it back when he is not looking.
"Cheater," he says, but his eyes are warm.
"Survivor."
We talk about nothing and everything. His classes. My decision to switch majors next semester. The way Raf has started texting me memes at 3 AM like we have been friends for years instead of days. His mom's invitation to Sunday dinner, which has somehow become a standing date.
The headsets sit on my nightstand. His beside mine. Two portals to the world where we fell in love, waiting in the dark.
I reach for them.
"I want to show you something," I say. "Properly this time."
Danny's eyebrows rise. "Properly?"
"Last time we were in the Love Room, I didn't know your face." I turn his headset over in my hands. "I want to feel everything now. In both worlds at once."
His breath catches. I watch his throat move as he swallows. "You sure?"
"I've never been more sure of anything."
We settle side by side on my bed, shoulders touching, headsets sliding into place. The real world disappears. Echo loads around us — sound first, then light, then the familiar pulse of the game recognizing our presence.
I navigate to the Love Room.
The space blooms into existence. Not just darkness this time — the game has learned what we want. A bed materializes in the center, draped in silk that shimmers between gold and crimson. Soft light pulses along the walls, breathing with a rhythm that matches my heartbeat. And along the edges, displayed with deliberate artistry: ropes coiled in elegant spirals, restraints gleaming like jewelry, toys arranged on velvet like offerings.
"Jesus," Ghost breathes beside me.
"Choose something," I say. "Anything."
He turns to face me. Even through the avatar, I feel the weight of his gaze — the same way I feel it in real life, burning through every wall I have ever built.
"No." His voice drops low. "You choose. This is yours tonight."
My pulse pounds in my throat. I look at the options lining the walls, heart racing, heat building low in my stomach. My eyes settle on the silk ropes. Deep red, soft as water, strong enough to hold.
They materialize around my wrists the moment I select them — gentle pressure, firm enough to feel, stretching my arms above my avatar's head. The game pins me in place, spread open, vulnerable in a way that should terrify me.
It does not.
I feel the phantom restraint on my real wrists too. Not tight — just present. A whisper of pressure that makes my breath quicken.
Then Danny's real hands find mine.
He lifts my arms above my head on the bed, his fingers wrapping around my wrists, pressing them into the pillow. Firm. Certain. Mirroring exactly what the ropes are doing in the game. I am pinned in both worlds now — silk in one, his grip in the other.
"This okay?" His voice is rough beside me.
"Yes." The word comes out strangled. "Don't let go."
"Never."
Ghost steps closer. Golden sparks trail from his fingertips as he traces my collarbone, my throat, the curve of my jaw. The sensation translates through the headset — warmth blooming across my skin, pressure that my brain interprets as touch even though nothing is there.
Then Danny's real hand mirrors the movement.
His fingers trace the same path on my actual body. Collarbone. Throat. Jaw. The dual sensation makes my back arch off the mattress.
"Oh god—"
"I've got you." His voice comes through the headset and beside me simultaneously, layered, surrounding. "Tell me if it's too much."
"More. I need more."
Ghost's mouth finds my neck in the game. His avatar's lips press against my pulse point, and I swear I feel teeth grazing skin. My whole body shivers. In reality, Danny's breath is hot against my ear, his mouth tracing the same line his avatar follows.
Two versions of him. Two versions of touch. My brain cannot separate them anymore.
His hands travel lower — virtual and real, synchronized, devastating. Ghost's fingers trace circles around my breast while Danny's actual palm slides beneath my shirt, finding bare skin. When his avatar's tongue circles my nipple, Danny's thumb brushes the real one at the exact same moment.
I cry out. The lights in the Love Room pulse brighter, syncing to my sounds, to my heartbeat, to the desperate rhythm building inside me.
"Please—" I do not even know what I am asking for.
"Tell me what you want." Ghost's voice is rough. Hungry.
"Touch me. Really touch me. Both of you. All of you."
His avatar's hand slides lower. I watch it happen in the game — fingers trailing down my stomach, past my hips, settling between my thighs. The phantom pressure makes me gasp.
Then Danny's real hand follows.
His fingers slip beneath my underwear and find me soaked, aching, desperate for something I cannot name. He groans against my ear. "You're so wet for me."
"For both of you."
He strokes me slowly. In the game, Ghost mirrors every movement — his avatar's hand working in perfect sync with Danny's real fingers. The dual sensation is overwhelming. I cannot tell where the simulation ends and reality begins. I do not want to.
"More," I beg. "Please, Danny, I need—"
He slides two fingers inside me. My body clamps around him, back arching, wrists straining against phantom restraints. The lights in the Love Room explode into crimson and gold, pulsing faster, matching the rhythm of his hand.
"That's it." His voice is wrecked. "Let go for me. Let me feel you."
He works me higher and higher. The pleasure builds in waves, each crest sharper than the last, until I am shaking beneath him in both worlds. His thumb finds my clit at the exact moment Ghost's avatar does the same, and the doubled sensation shatters me.
I come with his name on my lips — both names, tangled together, screaming into the dark.
When I finally stop trembling, he removes his hand slowly. I hear him shifting beside me, feel the mattress dip, and then he is pulling off my headset, pulling off his own, bringing us back to the same reality.
His face hovers above mine. Flushed, desperate, pupils blown wide.
"I need to be inside you," he breathes. "Really inside you. Can I—"
"Yes. God, yes."
He does not make me wait. He pushes inside me with one deep stroke, and I shatter all over again — the aftershocks of the first orgasm rolling into something new, something bigger, something that tears a sound from my throat I do not recognize.
We move together. No headsets now, no avatars, just skin against skin and his eyes locked on mine. He whispers my name — my real name, Nora, not Siren — and it sounds like a prayer.
When we finally break apart, we are both wrecked. Tangled limbs. Sweat-damp sheets. Headsets discarded on the floor somewhere.
I curl against his chest, listening to his heartbeat slow.
"Both," I whisper. "I want both forever."
He pulls me closer, pressing a kiss to my damp forehead. "You have me. All of me. Game version and real version. Whatever you want, whenever you want it."
I trace lazy patterns on his chest. For the first time in my life, I do not feel like I am performing. I do not feel like I am hiding.
I am simply here. With him. In a world we built together and a reality we chose.
Two broken people who found each other in the dark.
And decided to stay.
