The two men lay spent on the rug. Jean’s head rested on Bradley’s chest. He was loving the feel of Bradley’s fingers combing through his hair. With his eyes closed, Bradley enjoyed Jean’s warmth. He knew he had to get up and get ready before Ty arrived but he didn’t have the heart to end the sweet tranquility surrounding them. He’d missed Jean so much. He couldn’t believe he’d actually ended what they had. The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced they could work something out. The silence was a very comfortable one. Until Jean broke it in his typically blunt fashion.

“Who is she?”

Bradley opened his eyes and stared up at the ceiling, confused. His fingers stilled in Jean’s hair. “Who is who?”

“The brunette I saw leaving your apartment when I got here,” Jean said simply.

“You saw Allyson?” Bradley’s fingers began to move again. “That’s a girl I had a thing with some time back. She met the girlfriend of one of my colleagues at a club, learnt I was leaving on a mission, and decided to come and be with me…just like old times.”

“Did you sleep with her?”

“No.” Bradley chuckled. “We just hung out. It was too late for her to go by the time we were done watching a movie so I asked her to sleep. I didn’t touch her. Is that why you used a condom? You thought I was shagging someone?”

“What was I supposed to think?” Jean muttered. “You opened the door with your family jewels hanging out, thinking it was her…”

“Dude, I had on boxers beneath.” Bradley laughed. “And I was getting ready. Speaking of which, I need to finish up.” He sat up, forcing Jean to sit up too.

“One more question,” Jean muttered, looking into Bradley’s eyes. “What did you mean by all this is for me?”

Bradley shrugged. “Nothing.”

“Don’t do that, Bradley.” Jean’s voice was so low. “I’m not a kid. If something is about me, I need to know. I can take it even if it’s not pleasant. But what I can’t take, is when people keep things from me. Especially when I know something is being kept from me. I hate it. And I hate it even more now because you are the one doing it to me. Please, Bradley.”

“We will talk when I get back.”

“Brad…”

“There’s no time.” Bradley got on his knees and kissed Jean lightly on the lips. “I promise, we will talk.”

Jean nodded. “Were you really going to leave without telling me?” Jean sounded so hurt Bradley groaned.

“Is that the last question?” Bradley got to his feet and reached for Jean’s hand to pull him up.

“No.” Jean wrapped his arms around Bradley and pulled him close. “I can’t believe you were going to leave without telling me.”

“I wasn’t.” Bradley kissed Jean. “When was the last time you checked your personal mail?”

“I haven’t checked it in a while,” Jean admitted.

“I sent you a mail telling you I was going on a mission,” Bradley said. “I still haven’t received notification that it’s been opened.”

Jean drew Bradley’s lower lip into his mouth and sucked on it briefly before kissing him. “What else was in the mail?” Jean murmured against Bradley’s lips when he released them. Their cocks, which were brushing against each other’s, were hard again.

“You’ll have to read it.”

“Last question.”

“Jean…”

“Did you mean it when you said my kisses meant nothing to you?”

Bradley pulled his head back and looked at Jean. “What do you think?” He tilted Jean’s head back and captured his mouth in a plundering kiss that totally melted Jean. Jean gave as good as he got.

By the time they came up for air, Jean’s back was against the pillar. It seemed like the most natural thing to do when Bradley sunk to his knees before Jean. And when he took Jean into his mouth, it felt totally right. Bradley sucked hard and fast, jacking his own erection with violent speed at the same time. And when both men finally exploded, it was absolutely perfect.

By the time Jean left…and that was after helping Bradley quickly tidy up, Bradley had no time on his side. Immediately after he closed the door after Jean, Bradley jumped in the shower, grateful that Ty, for once, was running late. When Jean got into his car with a brilliant smile on his face, he didn’t see the military-clad hunk leaning against his car which was parked right beside his, speaking on his phone. He was experiencing for the very first time, the saying; ‘on cloud nine’.

Ty watched Jean leave with a confused look on his face. What was Jean Broody doing in Jackson’s condo that early in the morning? And why did he have that silly smile on his face? The man hadn’t even noticed his presence. And he’d been too surprised to call out to Jean, he’d let him go. He’d been calling Bradley for the past thirty minutes from Bradley’s parking lot, with no response. Ty had assumed Bradley was probably not ready so had decided to pick up his sister’s call instead, just to give Bradley some time. Ty was very confused. He quickly ended Thea’s call with a promise to get her a new car as soon as he got back, and then headed up to Bradley’s apartment.

Bradley heard his doorbell ringing and cursed darkly. He rushed out of the shower with a towel around his waist to open the door.

“I’m so sorry, man. I’ll just dress up quickly and…” He ran to his bedroom.

As soon as Ty walked in, he smelt Jean. He’d know Jean’s trademark Creed cologne anywhere.

“Did you have a visitor or something?” Ty called out.

“No,” Bradley responded from his bedroom. “I was just tidying up and got carried away.”

Ty frowned. That was clearly a lie. Also, it was so unlike Bradley to lose sight of time, he thought. And there was no way Bradley would be taking a shower this late on a day they were supposed to be shipping out. It was clearly a second shower. And it was so obvious why he needed one…

“I’ve been calling your cell phone but you…”

“Sorry about that, buddy,” Bradley responded. “It was on silent so I didn’t hear it ring.”

“I see.” Ty quickly recalled all those times he called Bradley whilst he was at Jean’s and had been given one reason or the other why his calls hadn’t been picked. Things began to click. He looked up when Bradley entered the living room with his bag. “Heard from Jean of late?” Ty asked casually. He didn’t miss how tensed Bradley suddenly got.

Bradley slowly looked up at Ty with a slight frown. Their eyes met and held. “What gave us away?” Bradley asked quietly.

“Creed.” Ty shrugged. “I smell Creed here. And I just saw him getting into his car, which was parked right beside mine…with me leaning against it, and the idiot didn’t even see me.” Ty tilted his head to the side and plastered a look so comical on his face Bradley laughed. “He had this silly smile on his face…like a kid whose favourite toy had just been delivered by Santa himself. Whatever happened here must have been really good.”

“Oh fuck off,” Bradley growled.

“Damn, I should have come up when I got here.” Ty groaned and then burst into laughter when Bradley flipped him off. “You sly fox.” Ty looked genuinely impressed. “All that time I was worried you were bored out of your skull and what were you doing? Fucking your brains out.”

“Can we just leave already?” Bradley groaned, feeling the heat rush to his face.

“Are you happy?” Ty asked softly as they stepped out of Bradley’s apartment.

“Yeah. But… It’s complicated.”

“How about we find ways to uncomplicate things?” Ty drawled as they stepped into the elevator. “’Cause if that guy is able to give you this glow, then he’s a keeper.”

“You’re such as asshole.” Bradley laughed.

And just like Jean, Bradley couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
