Fatty Betty's Diary: My Bully's Crush

A Renewed Bond

Ch. 211 / 251 Mar 20, 2026

The house was quiet, the stillness of the late hour broken only by the faint hum of the refrigerator. Betty wandered into the kitchen, drawn by the promise of a late-night snack to calm her restless mind. She froze mid-step when she noticed Stacey sitting at the kitchen table, her face half-hidden in the dim glow of the overhead light. A steaming mug sat untouched in front of her, wisps of steam curling lazily upward.

“Couldn’t sleep either?” Betty asked softly, moving cautiously toward the counter.

Stacey glanced up, her guarded expression momentarily faltering before she shrugged. “Something like that.”

Betty grabbed a glass and filled it with water, leaning against the counter as she studied her sister. There was something different about Stacey tonight, a heaviness in her posture that she couldn’t ignore. Finally, Stacey broke the silence.

“You were right about Dad,” she admitted, her voice low and strained. “There’s something going on, but I… I don’t want to face it.”

Betty set her glass down and crossed the room, pulling out the chair opposite Stacey. She sat down, resting her elbows on the table as she looked Stacey in the eye. “You don’t have to do it alone,” Betty said gently. “We’re family, remember?”

Stacey’s lips quirked upward in the faintest of smiles, though her eyes glistened with unshed tears. “I guess we are,” she said, her voice tinged with a mix of vulnerability and relief.

The silence that followed was comfortable, a stark contrast to the tension that had defined so many of their previous interactions. For the first time in what felt like forever, they were simply two sisters, united by a shared understanding and an unspoken promise.

“Whatever’s going on,” Betty said after a moment, “we’ll figure it out. Together.”

Stacey nodded, her smile growing just a bit stronger. “Together,” she echoed.

It was a small moment, but it felt monumental. For months, their relationship had been strained, their trust frayed by doubt and secrets. But tonight, in the quiet of the kitchen, they took a step forward. It wasn’t a resolution, but it was a beginning.

As they sat together, the weight of the challenges ahead felt just a little lighter. Whatever the future held, they knew they could face it as sisters.
