Fatty Betty's Diary: My Bully's Crush

A New Beginning

Ch. 230 / 251 Mar 20, 2026

Betty’s POV

The auditorium buzzed with electricity, the air thick with excitement as The Unseen’s showcase unfolded onstage. Each design that graced the runway was more than just fabric and stitching—it was a reflection of sleepless nights, heated debates, and moments of inspiration that had brought us all together. The models moved with purpose, their confident strides bringing our vision to life under the bright lights.

The applause was deafening as yet another outfit received a wave of cheers. Backstage, I stood just out of sight, peeking past the curtains. My heart swelled with an emotion I hadn’t felt in far too long: pride. Real, unfiltered pride—not just in the work I’d done, but in the people who had made it possible.

Lucy appeared beside me, her face flushed with excitement, her eyes sparkling like they hadn’t in weeks. “Betty,” she said, pulling me into a tight hug. “We did it.”

I hugged her back, the enormity of the moment finally settling in. “We really did,” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper as tears pricked my eyes.

Behind her, Carlos was practically beaming as he celebrated with the rest of the team. He caught my eye and gave me a thumbs-up, his grin wide and genuine. I nodded back, the bond between us stronger than it had ever been.

As the final model stepped onto the runway, showcasing the piece we’d all agreed would close the show, the audience erupted into thunderous applause. The energy in the room was palpable, a collective acknowledgment of the blood, sweat, and tears we’d poured into this project. I stepped closer to Lucy, who was now gripping Carlos’s arm, her excitement infectious.

The three of us stood together, watching as the models made their final walk and the lights dimmed. When the applause finally began to fade, I realized I was holding my breath. This moment wasn’t just the end of the showcase—it was the start of something entirely new.

As the night wound down and the auditorium began to empty, Dana approached us. Her sharp, professional smile was accompanied by an approving nod. “This,” she said, her voice crisp and deliberate, “is exactly what I was hoping for. You’ve outdone yourselves.”

I managed a polite thank you, though her words didn’t carry the weight they once might have. This wasn’t just my accomplishment, or hers—it belonged to all of us. The team we’d built, the family we’d become. We hadn’t done it for the magazine or for the drama Dana had so eagerly sought. We’d done it for each other, and that made it all the more meaningful.

As Dana walked away, Lucy looped her arm through mine. “You know what this means, right?” she said, her voice brimming with excitement. “We’re unstoppable.”

I laughed, wiping at my eyes. “Maybe we are.”

We stood there for a moment longer, watching the crew dismantle the runway, the adrenaline still humming in our veins. The showcase had been a success, but more than that, it had reminded me of what mattered most. Not the recognition or the applause, but the people standing beside me, who had made it all possible.

This was more than just a victory. It was the start of something new—something we’d built together, something strong enough to last. And as I looked at Lucy, Carlos, and the rest of the team, I knew that whatever came next, we’d face it together.
