Antonio stood frozen, like a deer caught in the headlights, his face as white as a sheet as grandmother Elizabeth and Courtney entered the room. They were confused seeing him naked, why would he call Elizabeth to come just to show his nakedness? And that look on his face.. those eyes. Their eyes were drawn immediately to the naked body of Angela lying lifeless on the bed. Their eyes widened in shock and their feet went cold. “What happened here?” Grandma Elizabeth snapped in a panic. Antonio smiled at them broadly. “Oh you are here. You came just in time, I killed her, I did it”. Grandma Elizabeth and his cousin sister Courtney exchanged a look. There was something very off about him. "Are you on drugs?" Grandma Elizabeth asked, her voice trembling. “He is”. Courtney replied instead, she gazed back at Angela. “Don't tell me she's…” Courtney swallowed the rest of the words and walked quietly towards Angela. She could see her chest rising up and down. A sigh of relief escaped her lips. “She's breathing, I will call the medical staff immediately but first let's get them covered up”. Courtney suggested. “I did kill her…I killed her”. Antonio kept muttering. “No you didn't, you fool, snap out of it”. Courtney scolded him. “Poor Angela, it must've been terrible for her”. Grandma Elizabeth cried. “He's always been this way with others, I thought she might be different since you know she's not a blonde”. Courtney commented trying to find a piece to cover up their nakedness. “She is his fiancé”. Grandma Elizabeth added. Courtney nodded. “Yes..that too”. She found a dress in Antonio's wardrobe and covered Angela then she looked for another and wrapped around Antonio's waist to cover his own nakedness. Antonio was still in the same spot muttering his usual words, his eyes were wide and far from being human. “I killed her”. “I killed her”. “Antonio!” Grandma Elizabeth screamed with deep sorrow, he turned to that instant like he was remoted. “You have to move on.., please for my sake stop this”. She sobbed. Courtney called Angela's assistant, Devia to inform the Montero nurses about Angela's condition. They returned with a stroller and carried Angela out of the room. Courtney went away with them closing the door after. “Antonio Montero”. Grandma Elizabeth called with a tight frown. He looked at her with a smile, tears glistening in his eyes. “She's going to die right?” Mama Elizabeth's anger melted immediately seeing him. “Oh Antonio, come here”. She said, spreading her hands wide for him. He walked step by step to her and fell on his knees. She caught his face in her pale wrinkled hands. "It's okay," she said, her voice calmer now. "It's alright. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. Can you do that for me?" Antonio remained still; he didn't say nor do anything to give her a response. Grandma Elizabeth went ahead and hugged him tightly. The last time she saw him this way..was years ago..it was a terrible memory. At this point she wondered if trying to get him to love again is the best thing for his mental health. It will only cause more pain to him and also his innocent bride. Yet she wanted him to be happy, before she leaves or he ends up lonely just like she feared. “He doesn't deserve this life. He was a sweet little boy”. A tear dropped down her cheeks at the memory of those good times. “She will be okay”. She whispered to Antonio's ears. “I don't want her to be okay…she needs to die..she's messing me up”. Antonio replied, his fist clenched tightly. Grandma Elizabeth laughed in tears. “That's nonsense..I know you want her to live”. She kissed his cheek and kept hugging him. “Stop with the drugs I beg you…you can always talk to me when you need to, I am still here”. ****** “How is she doing?” Courtney asked the doctor, who was examining Angela's body. The doctor Phil sighed and pulled off the stethoscope off his ears. “It's bad..she was …” He paused. “I know the word..you have to try your best to save her…she means a lot to Antonio”. Courtney replied. “I...understand lady Courtney”. The doctor replied tightly, his heart racing. Just then the door opened and there stood Damon then doctor Phil excused himself and left the room. “What happened?” He made to walk to Angela but Courtney stood in his way. “I don't think you should be here Damon”. “I want to know what happened to her, is she okay?” He replied angrily and gazed at Angela, seeing her in that condition made his heart break. “Angela? Why is she unconscious?” “She is Antonio's bride..not your responsibility..”. Courtney replied. “You know it's a fake relationship right?” Damon replied. “I know..yet she is his responsibility”. Damon was triggered. “Y'all support this? You are going to hide that monster and let this innocent woman suffer because of that psychopath!” Damon snapped loudly. “Calm down, will you? (Sighs) you of all people know why he is this way”. “Who cares! He is not the only person who….” The door opened again interrupting him. Antonio was standing there, his tired eyes showing his curiosity about the drama in front of him. Courtney cursed. “Speak of the devil”.
