Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 211

Ch. 211 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Third Person's POV

Vanya ignored everyone and walked straight to the center of the church.

She saw a huge picture frame hanging directly in front of her, inside was a black-and-white photo of herself.

"Impossible... How could Vanya still be alive?" Melinda's face was the most unsightly.

She had clearly seen Vanya fall into the sea with her own eyes back then—there was no way she could have survived!

Seeing Melinda's ugly expression, Vanya's lips curled up slightly: "Looks like I failed to die, and Miss Coleman doesn't seem too happy about it?"

Melinda felt as if all the strength had been drained from her body, and she almost couldn't stand steady.

But in order to maintain her composure in front of everyone, she forced a smile: "How—how could that be, of course I'm happy you're back..."

"Are you happy, or are you afraid?"

Vanya didn't miss the fear in Melinda's eyes. She slowly stepped forward, a smile on her lips: "It's a pity the people Miss Coleman sent didn't manage to kill me. Now that I've managed to survive and stand here again, do you still have the courage to try one more time?"

Melinda's face grew even uglier: "You—what nonsense are you talking about? Kill you? Your fall into the sea had nothing to do with me!"

Veronica also frowned: "Vanya, if you weren't dead, why didn't you come back sooner? The family was so worried about you! Showing up at your own funeral—how thoughtless!"

"Veronica, you rushed to hold a funeral as soon as you received the clothes the rescue team pulled up. Of course I had to come and see for myself."

Vanya looked around the church, "The style is just to my liking, but unfortunately, I won't be needing it."

She remembered clearly that in her previous life, she had tried every way to please Veronica, obeying her every word, treating her with more respect than her own parents, but the other woman had only ever seen her as a tool.

It was the same in her previous life: once Veronica realized Melinda could bring more benefits to Cliff, she abandoned her without hesitation.

Veronica and Cliff were the same, cold-blooded to the core.

Vanya looked at Melinda: "Miss Coleman, how far along are you? Two weeks? Three? Or four?"

Her words were heard by all the guests around—two weeks ago, Vanya hadn't had her accident yet. In other words, Cliff had already cheated before anything happened to her.

Everyone gasped—just as the mistress became pregnant, the legitimate wife was kidnapped and nearly killed. Anyone with eyes could see this was no accident, but a battle among the wealthy.

"This has nothing to do with you. I don't need to say anything." Melinda's eyes darted away.

She wished everyone knew she was pregnant with Cliff's child, but she didn't want to be called a homewrecker.

Veronica also knew this would look bad, and frowned: "Vanya, since you're back, let's talk at home. There are so many people here, mind your image."

"Veronica, you brought Melinda into the Todd family as soon as I went missing. I'm not unreasonable. Since she's pregnant, of course I should step aside."

Veronica thought she had misheard: "What did you say?"

Vanya turned to the crowd: "Everyone, today I, Vanya, am divorcing Cliff. I hereby announce that from now on, we will go our separate ways and have nothing more to do with each other."

Melinda couldn't hide her joy, but Veronica's face darkened.

By saying all this in public, Vanya was clearly leaving the Todd family no room for maneuver. By tomorrow, they would be the laughingstock of Los Angeles.

"Nonsense! What are you talking about? I think you must be confused after falling into the sea!" Veronica tried to pull Vanya, but was stopped by the people at her side.

Suddenly, ten bodyguards in black surged into the church, forming a protective barrier behind Vanya.

Seeing this, Veronica was so shocked she couldn't speak—had Vanya come prepared?

"Veronica, get this straight: it was your son who wronged me. How is it confused of me to ask for a divorce?"

"You—you'll be the death of me..." Veronica pointed at Vanya, but couldn't catch her breath and fainted on the spot.

Everyone was thrown into chaos and hurriedly called for an ambulance.

Vanya stood to the side, quietly watching the farce unfold.

For today's funeral, Veronica had specially invited quite a few members of the media to keep up appearances.

From the moment Vanya entered the church, the media's flashbulbs hadn't stopped.

This was destined to be explosive news all over the internet. No doubt, it was already spreading across major networks, and some media outlets had even started live streaming.

Vanya simply watched coldly. This was the perfect occasion to let the news of the divorce ferment to its fullest.

Beta Elliot, sensing something was wrong, immediately took out his phone and informed Cliff of the situation.

By the time Cliff arrived, Veronica had already been taken away in an ambulance.

Most of the guests in the church had also been ushered out by Vanya's people.

He walked into the church and immediately saw Vanya. Overjoyed, he ran straight toward her.

But before he could get close, Melinda blocked his way: "Cliff! You can't go over there! It was because of Vanya that Veronica was sent to the hospital!"

"Get out of the way!" Cliff shoved Melinda aside.

She lost her balance and nearly fell, but managed to grab a chair. She glared at Cliff resentfully, clenching her teeth.

She had become the other woman in everyone's eyes for him, yet he didn't care about her at all!

At this moment, Cliff's eyes were only for Vanya.

"I'm not dreaming, you really came back." He hugged her excitedly—the person he had missed day and night. He just knew she wasn't dead.

But Vanya didn't return his embrace. She calmly pushed him away: "You're too late. I've already announced our divorce."
