Third Person's POV
Cliff still remembered how Vanya used to chase after him.
When someone stops loving another, the change in their gaze is obvious.
"Alpha Cliff..."
"Do you remember what I did during the first month after Vanya and I got married?"
"Alpha Cliff... you didn't really do anything special, you just didn't come home often, and you didn't care much about Luna..."
Beta Elliot spoke very tactfully.
At that time, Cliff was still very fond of Melinda and took her everywhere with him. In comparison, he didn't pay much attention to Vanya, his newlywed wife.
"Was I just indifferent to her back then?"
"Maybe... there was also a bit of aversion."
Because back then, Vanya always imitated Melinda, trying to win Cliff's favor.
This did make Cliff quite repulsed, but aside from that, there was nothing else.
"If that's all, then why do I always feel like there's hatred in the way she looks at me?"
Cliff remembered clearly that at that time, Vanya's gaze toward him was filled with fear, dread, and even disgust.
Back then, he didn't care about Vanya, so he never looked into it. But now, it all seemed too unreasonable.
"Alpha Cliff, don't overthink it. Luna used to like you so much, she wouldn't just agree to a divorce so easily."
Beta Elliot said, "As long as you handle Miss Coleman's matter properly, I think Luna will change her mind."
"Change her mind? Theodore mobilized the entire Winston family for her."
Once again, the image of Vanya and Theodore standing together appeared in Cliff's mind.
Then, suppressing his anger, he said, "Put pressure on the Dalton family these days. I want to force her to come back to me."
"But... the Dalton family has already been acquired by the M Group. If you want to make a move against them, it won't be that easy."
"Then do whatever it takes! I only want Vanya!"
Cliff's face darkened. "If Theodore wants to back Vanya, then I'll fight the Winston family to the bitter end."
Vanya was his, and only his!
He would never allow anyone else to touch her! Especially Theodore!
At the Dalton house, the people Theodore brought all withdrew.
Mirabelle was already drenched in sweat from fear. Patting her chest, she said, "That scared me to death... How could those people be so rough! Vanya, if you ask me, you should talk things over with Cliff. What if he refuses to give up?"
"You don't need to worry about that."
Vanya looked calm. She reached out and pulled Theodore over, saying, "Come upstairs with me."
The usually unruly Theodore obediently followed behind Vanya, like a big wolfdog.
Seeing this, Aldrich mused, "Are Theodore and Vanya dating?"
"Honey, are you out of your mind!" Mirabelle said, "Do you know who Theodore is? How could he possibly be interested in our Vanya? Our Vanya is divorced, you know!"
"So what if she's divorced? Aren't you and I both divorced too?"
"How is that the same!"
Mirabelle and Aldrich started arguing downstairs.
Upstairs, Vanya pulled Theodore into the room, closed the door, and asked, "Why did you come here?"
She remembered clearly that she hadn't told Theodore she was coming back to the Dalton house today.
"The information about Melinda—you were the one who leaked it to Cliff, weren't you?"
It was a simple little trick, but coming from Theodore's mouth, it sounded tinged with jealousy.
Vanya didn't deny it, since the facts were obvious.
Since she had already uncovered that information, she naturally had to make use of it—let Cliff learn the truth sooner and send Melinda to prison as soon as possible.
Theodore said in a low voice, "With Cliff's personality, once he knows the truth, he'll get rid of Melinda right away, and then come looking for you."
"So that's why you brought people over?"
Vanya frowned. "Why didn't you tell me in advance?"
Theodore thought for a moment and said, "Derek said that making a heroic entrance to save the beauty would look cooler."
"You never learn the good things, only the bad ones."
Vanya was about to open the door to let Theodore out, but he reached out and grabbed her arm.
The room was dimly lit. Theodore pinned her against the wall, his voice tinged with a hint of grievance. "Just now, you said, in the future, who will be the one standing by your side?"
Vanya's gaze flickered. "I don't think I said who it would be."
"No matter who it is, if it's not me, I'll treat them all as scoundrels."
"You're being unreasonable!"
"I never claimed to be a good person."
Theodore's eyes were full of laughter. "Who told me to decide that you're my future wife?"
Vanya pushed him away and said, "Keep dreaming!"
She opened the door and saw Aldrich standing outside.
Aldrich was clearly a bit embarrassed, but he tried to act calm as he said to Vanya, "Vanya, come here, I have something to say to you."
"Got it."
Vanya followed Aldrich out. Aldrich glanced, intentionally or not, at Theodore, who was still in Vanya's room.
He asked in a low voice, "Vanya, tell me the truth, you and Theodore..."
Vanya cut him off. "Aldrich, we're not in the kind of relationship you think."
