The Moon Goddess’ Command

Ch. 60 / 99 Feb 16, 2026

Kaelan paced the length of his chambers, his hands clenched tightly at his sides. The news of Mira’s impending mating ceremony consumed his thoughts, a fire burning in his chest that refused to be extinguished. His wolf stirred restlessly, a growl rumbling low in his mind as if urging him to act.

“Why now?” Kaelan muttered to himself, his voice thick with frustration. “Why is everything falling apart now?”

He pressed his palms against the edge of his desk, bowing his head as he fought to calm the storm within. His wolf clawed at the edges of his mind, its presence stronger than it had been in weeks.

Suddenly, a voice, soft yet commanding, filled the silence of the room. It was not his wolf, but something far greater, far more profound.

“Go to her before it is too late.”

Kaelan’s breath caught, his body stiffening as the words echoed in his mind. He recognized the voice instantly—it was the moon goddess.

“If you don’t get your soulmate back, you will never be lucky to get another.”

The finality of her words struck him like a lightning bolt. His wolf roared within him, its connection to Mira reigniting with an intensity he hadn’t felt since she left. The mate bond, once strained and nearly severed, now pulled at him with unrelenting force.

Kaelan straightened, his resolve hardening. There was no time to waste. He strode to the door, his voice ringing out as he barked orders to the first guard he saw.

“Restock the supplies,” he commanded. “Meals, water, everything we’ll need for a long journey. Prepare the horses and assemble my best soldiers. We leave within the hour.”

The guard hesitated for only a moment before bowing. “Yes, Alpha.”

Kaelan turned on his heel, heading toward his father’s chambers. He needed to explain his decision, though he knew the path ahead was one he had to walk alone.

When he entered the room, his father was seated by the fire, his expression pensive. He looked up as Kaelan approached, his brows furrowing at the determined look on his son’s face.

“Kaelan,” his father said, his voice calm but questioning. “What’s the matter?”

Kaelan stood tall, his voice steady as he spoke. “The moon goddess has spoken to me. She commanded me to go to Mira before it’s too late.”

His father’s eyes widened slightly, but he remained silent, letting Kaelan continue.

“The mate bond has returned,” Kaelan said, his hand resting over his chest as if to steady the pull he felt. “I can feel it as strongly as I did the day we first met. I must bring her back to the pack.”

The elder Alpha leaned forward, his gaze sharp. “Do you understand what you’re risking by doing this?”

Kaelan nodded. “I do. But if I don’t go, we lose everything. Mira is the key to the pack’s survival, to my survival. I made a mistake when I let her go, and now I must fix it.”

His father studied him for a long moment before finally nodding. “Then go, Kaelan. But know this—you carry the hopes of the entire pack with you. Bring her back, or you may never return.”

Kaelan’s jaw tightened, his voice softening as he replied, “Pray to the moon goddess that I can convince her to forgive us. If I don’t, I don’t think I will come back.”
