The Shaman’s Revelation

Ch. 55 / 99 Feb 16, 2026

Kaelan sat in his study, his hands steepled beneath his chin as his mind churned with unanswered questions. The moon goddess’s silence hung over him like a shroud, her absence growing more deafening with each passing day. The pack had suffered enough; the unexplained deaths, the unrest, the uncertainty—it all gnawed at his soul.

He couldn’t continue to lead blindfolded, hoping for guidance that never came. He needed answers, and he knew only one person might provide them.

“Bring me the shaman,” Kaelan commanded one of the guards at the door.

The guard hesitated for a brief moment before bowing and hurrying out of the room. The shaman’s name carried weight, whispered in reverence and fear among the pack. He was known for his deep connection to the spiritual realm, a connection that Kaelan now desperately needed.

When the shaman arrived, the air seemed to shift. His weathered face was framed by a mane of white hair, and his deep-set eyes carried the wisdom of countless lifetimes. He walked with deliberate purpose, his staff tapping softly against the stone floor.

“Alpha,” the shaman greeted, bowing slightly. His voice was low, steady, and filled with a calm authority.

Kaelan motioned for him to sit, his piercing gaze meeting the shaman’s. “I need answers,” Kaelan began, his voice firm. “The moon goddess has been silent for weeks. The pack is in turmoil, and I’ve been plagued by strange dreams. I need to know what’s happening.”

The shaman studied Kaelan for a long moment, his expression unreadable. “Tell me of these dreams,” he said finally.

Kaelan hesitated, his jaw tightening before he spoke. “I hear laughter—Liana’s laughter—but it feels wrong. Sinister. There are whispers I can’t understand, firelight, and a suffocating scent I don’t recognize. It feels like I’m being… warned.”

The shaman nodded slowly, his fingers tracing the symbols carved into his staff. He closed his eyes and began to chant softly, his voice carrying an otherworldly resonance. The air grew heavy, the flickering candlelight in the room dimming as an unseen presence seemed to envelop them.

After several minutes, the shaman’s eyes snapped open, his gaze sharp and intense. “The moon goddess is angry,” he said, his voice echoing with finality.

Kaelan’s stomach dropped. “Angry? Why? What have I done?”

The shaman leaned forward, his expression grave. “You have defied her will. Mira is your only true mate. The moon goddess chose her for you, but you turned away from that bond and forged another with Liana. That is why she remains silent.”

Kaelan’s breath hitched as the weight of the revelation settled on him. “Mira?” he whispered, the name leaving his lips like a plea. “You’re certain?”

The shaman nodded solemnly. “The dreams, the unrest in the pack, the unexplained deaths—they are all signs of the imbalance caused by your rejection of the moon goddess’s will. If you do not bring Mira back, disaster will follow.”

Kaelan’s mind raced, his thoughts a chaotic swirl. “And Liana?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. “What about her?”

The shaman’s gaze hardened, and he locked eyes with Kaelan. “She is not your mate,” he said, his voice firm and unyielding.
