The car doors opened one after another, and the patriarch of the Steele family, assisted by Ellena, walked over, followed by various members of the Steele family.
Alexander didn't recognize them and seeing a group of strangers, instinctively shielded Samantha behind him.
Suzy immediately put on a smile, greeting them one by one, "Grandfather, Grandmother, Uncle, Aunt... you’re all here.”
Anna looked at her in surprise, "Why are you here?"
Suzy explained, "An hour ago, I received an anonymous call saying that Alexander was kidnapped and held here. Fearing for his safety, I came immediately."
The patriarch had no intention of listening to their conversation. His cloudy eyes were fixed on Alexander.
The hand holding the cane almost couldn't steady itself due to excitement.
"Alexander? You are Alexander? Not Noah?"
Although Alexander didn't recognize him, he recognized Anna and Liam, cleverly guessing their identities. He nodded and answered, "My name is Alexander Miller, nicknamed Alex. I'm not Noah."
Seeing him admit it, the patriarch's legs trembled with excitement. Step by step, he walked up to Alexander, carefully inspect him from head to toe.
Indeed, they were twins.
Absolutely identical.
He now had another outstanding great-grandson who was just as excellent as Noah.
Trembling, he reached out to touch Alexander's face.
Instinctively, Alexander took a step back, looking up at Samantha, seeking her opinion.
Samantha could deeply empathize with the emotions of the older generation of the Steele family and nodded to Alexander.
Alexander obediently stayed still.
Standing there, he let the old patriarch's wrinkled hand gently stroke his small face.
The patriarch, teary-eyed with excitement, nodded continuously, "Good, very good, just as excellent as Noah. Come, go home with Great Grandpa. I will surely make up for everything missing in these four years."
Upon hearing that he was to be taken back, Alexander firmly shook his head again, "I don't want to go back. I want to be with my Mommy."
Anna furrowed her brows and said sternly, "Your mommy is Suzy, not Samantha."
Alexander couldn't be swayed, his attitude firm, "No, my mommy is only Samantha. I don't want that bad woman to be my mommy."
Being called a bad woman infuriated Suzy. She looked displeased and said, "You've been brainwashed by Samantha. Four years ago, right after I gave birth to you, she secretly took you away, causing the separation between us. Today, after she realized that you found out the truth, she orchestrated this kidnapping tonight to try and move you, to make you stay with her forever. I understand your feelings for her over the past four years; it's not easy to let go. However, I am your biological mother. You are a piece of flesh that fell from my body, and the whole world might abandon you, but I won't."
With these words, she subtly shifted all the blame onto Samantha.
As expected.
All eyes were now focused on Samantha.
Samantha looked coldly at Suzy, "Alexander was adopted by me from an orphanage four years ago. If you don't believe it, you can go ask the orphanage director."
With that, she raised her phone, sneering, "I've recorded your words. I'm going to sue you for defamation. Get ready to receive my lawyer's letter!"
Suzy had already anticipated a countermeasure.
"Heh, you can steal Alexander, secretly drop him off at the orphanage, and then hypocritically adopt him. Otherwise, why, out of so many children, did you choose to adopt my son?"
Samantha couldn't help but laugh at her shamelessness.
"Suzy, after four years, you're still so shameless, always trying to shift blame! I don't have time to argue with you. If you have evidence, you can sue me. If you don't, then just get lost. Don't think about unjustly accusing me."
With that, she squatted down, looked at Alexander, and said gently, "Alexander, go with them for now. I'll come find you tomorrow."
The kidnappers who had abducted Alexander had not been found yet. Following Ethan would be the safest for Alexander.
However, he was unwilling, desperately shaking his head, "No, I want to be with you, Mommy."
Samantha's face stiffened, displeased, "Listen to me, or I'll get angry."
Afraid that she would get angry, Alexander, with red eyes, reluctantly nodded in agreement.
The patriarch immediately took his hand and led him back to the sedan.
Watching them leave, Liam gave Samantha and Suzy a cold glance, "Ethan, take them all back and thoroughly interrogate the events from back then. As for the kidnappers, since they dared to touch my grandson, don't let them off."
There were still many suspicious points about the events from back then.
They had to figure out why a perfectly fine child had disappeared without a trace for four years.
Ethan nodded.
Liam also got into the car and left.
"Jade, take them to Chelsea Creek..." Ethan coldly threw down a sentence, bent over, and got into the car.
From start to finish, he didn't look at Samantha and Suzy.
However, Samantha refused to leave with them, anxiously saying, "No, my daughter is alone at home. I must hurry back. She will be scared if she wakes up and doesn't see me."
Ethan ignored her.
The black SUV shot out like an arrow.
Samantha was forcibly taken to Chelsea Creek.
On the way, she had no choice but to send a WhatsApp message to seek help from Justin.
"Sorry, I know I shouldn't contact you again, but I have an urgent matter and can't leave. In the entire city, you're the only one I can turn to. Can you temporarily look after my daughter? She's staying at Karen's place."
The message took a long time to receive a cold reply from Justin.
"Sure!"
Seeing that he agreed, Samantha finally breathed a sigh of relief.
When they returned to Chelsea Creek, it was already dawn.
The tense nerves were finally relaxed, and a wave of sleepiness instantly overwhelmed Samantha. Unable to resist, she sat on the sofa in the living room and fell asleep.
Suzy sat beside her, coldly watching, without a trace of sleepiness.
After returning home, Ethan took a shower. When he came downstairs, he saw Samantha leaning on the sofa, sleeping with an improper posture, causing drool to flow down.
Ethan's thin lips tightened with disdain.
Seeing him, Suzy immediately stood up to greet him, smiling, "Ethan, what I just said was all true. You must believe me. It's because of her that I and Alex were separated for four years..."
As she spoke, her eyes turned red. Tears streamed down.
Ethan didn't hear a word, his gaze always fixed on Samantha.
Ethan furrowed his brows. After a brief hesitation, he walked over, gently lifted her from the sofa, and walked upstairs in long strides.
Although this woman had deceived him countless times, hurt him, Yet, he still couldn't bear to see her sleep alone on the sofa.
Every move she made could still affect his emotions and thoughts.
