Call Off The Wedding

Ch. 93 / 178 Feb 27, 2026

After entering the house, Justin arranged the bought food neatly on the plates. To win Charlotte's favor, he specially bought many beautiful and delicious desserts.

As expected, when Charlotte saw the desserts, she forgot everything else and happily planted a kiss on Justin's face, saying, "Thank you, Godfather! I like you the most."

Her lips were soft, gentle, and carried the sweet scent. Justin's heart instantly turned tender. He genuinely liked this cute and beautiful little girl who looked exactly like Samantha.

Watching them getting along so well, Samantha, on the other hand, lacked enthusiasm, leaning lethargically on the sofa, her mind filled with Alexander.

His smiles, his tears, his joys, and his sorrows. Thinking about it, tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.

Call her selfish or shameless, but if the price for Alexander to find his biological parents was to be forever separated from her, she genuinely hoped that Alexander would never know his true identity.

Seeing her in a low spirits, Justin personally brought the food to her, comforting her, "I know you're not in a good mood, but you still have Charlotte to take care of. Eat a bit more; otherwise, your body won't be able to handle it."

Samantha knew he was right, so even though she had no appetite, she still accepted the plate and spoon.

Justin watched her with a heart full of distress. In just one day, she seemed much more exhausted. This incident had undoubtedly dealt a heavy blow to her.

After dinner, Justin took the initiative to take care of household chores. He washed the dishes, bathed Charlotte, told her a bedtime story, and coaxed her to sleep.

When he finally managed to get Charlotte to sleep, Samantha had already dozed off on the sofa.

Sighing inwardly, Justin bent down and lifted her from the sofa. At this moment, the front door suddenly opened.

Karen walked in. When she saw Samantha, who was snuggled affectionately in Justin's arms, her face changed dramatically. The color drained from her face, and for a moment, her mind went blank.

Fearful of waking Samantha up, Justin gave Karen a meaningful look. His thoughtfulness and meticulous care stabbed at Karen's heart.

However, he seemed not to notice the pain on her face, and he carried Samantha into the room.

Karen stared blankly at Justin holding Samantha, rooted to the spot as if her feet were bound by invisible chains.

Her body trembled uncontrollably. Her eyes were filled with a bloody red color.

She had schemed for more than ten years, finally breaking them apart and snatching Justin away. But all her cunning strategies were shattered by a single glance from Samantha.

She hated her.

But where exactly did she fall short compared to Samantha?

Four years had passed, and Justin still couldn't forget about her?

Karen stood by the entrance, waiting for what felt like an eternity, as if a century had passed. Just when she thought Justin had forgotten her existence, he finally emerged. Without any explanation, he tidied his clothes and said, "Samantha is very tired. Keep quiet and don't wake her up. I'm leaving now. If anything happens to her, call me immediately. I'm available 24 hours."

Having said that, he prepared to leave.

Karen was dumbfounded. As Justin walked past her, she grabbed his arm.

"Don't you have anything to say to me?" she asked.

Justin, seemingly oblivious to her intentions, replied indifferently, "It's very late. You should rest early."

After saying that, he tried to leave again.

Karen's anger ignited. She grabbed onto his arm firmly.

"I want to know why you are here. Why are you alone with Samantha in my house?"

Beyond these questions, what she really wanted to ask was, "What indecent things have you done that can't be seen?"

However, afraid of making Justin angry, she dared not ask.

Justin turned to look at her, his expression unchanged as he explained, "Samantha had some trouble, and I was worried about her. That's why I came over to check on her. Don't worry; nothing happened between us."

His attitude was cold, not like that of an engaged couple but rather that of acquaintances.

Karen was almost driven mad with anger.

She struggled to contain her jealousy, but it was overwhelming.

"I've been living here for five years, and you've never taken the initiative to step inside. Now, for Samantha, you've come here twice. I'm your soon-to-be wife. How can you treat me like this? You..."

Before she could finish her words, Justin suddenly covered her mouth.

Karen's seemingly dead heart came back to life. A faint spark of hope flickered in her heart.

Just when she thought Justin wanted to comfort her and explain, he said, "Don't wake up Samantha and Charlotte. Let's talk outside."

Karen's heart fell back into hell. Her entire being was surrounded by despair.

Five minutes later, the two of them arrived in the garden downstairs.

Justin walked ahead, and Karen followed behind.

Watching the imposing figure under the streetlight, Karen's heart couldn't help but pound. Her face was full of admiration.

Regardless of when or where, Justin was the only man who could stir her thoughts.

Her biggest dream in life was to marry him and become his wife.

As she envisioned the future, Justin suddenly stopped and turned to look at her.

Karen stopped in time, looking at the handsome face in front of her. She took the initiative to hug him, her arms tightly encircling his waist, and whispered, "Justin, I'm sorry for being so petty just now. Both you and Samantha are the most important people to me. I shouldn't have doubted you."

Justin's heart remained unmoved. He calmly pulled her out of his embrace and looked at her gently, saying, "Karen, let's call off the wedding."

His words were like a bolt from the blue, leaving Karen stunned.

She couldn't believe what she had just heard, trembling as she said, "What did you say? Say it again."

Justin knew she had heard him but was unwilling to accept it. Patiently, he said, "You should know that I've only ever liked Samantha. I've only treated you as a sister. What happened before was my mistake, and I shouldn't have done that to you. I can make it up to you. Tell me what you want, and I'll satisfy your wishes."

Karen finally confirmed that she hadn't misheard, but her emotions surged. "I don't want anything. I just want you..."

Justin, feeling guilty for his previous actions, was unusually patient.

"I'm sorry. I've made two mistakes already, and I can't afford to make another one. I don't love you. It wouldn't be fair to you if we got married."

Karen sneered, "Is it unfair to me, or do you want to dump me and marry Samantha?"

Justin remained noncommittal. "From the beginning to the end, the only person I wanted to marry was Samantha."

Karen looked at him disappointedly. "Even if she had a child with another man?"

Justin nodded firmly, "Yes, even if she had a child with another man."

Tears poured down uncontrollably.

Karen, in excitement, pounded Justin's chest. "Why do you treat me like this? If you don't like me, why give me hope? Why touch me? I hate you, I really hate you...!"
