A cunning gleam flashed in Karen's eyes as she intentionally staggered when pushed.
Samantha immediately supported her, anxiously asking, "Karen, are you okay? What happened?"
Karen's face turned deathly pale. She shook her head, nervously holding Samantha's hand, on the verge of tears, "What's wrong with Yurika? Everything was fine, why does she suddenly want to move out? And why cut ties with us? Did I do something wrong?"
Samantha shook her head, comforting her, "It's her own fault, nothing to do with you. Don't blame yourself."
"No, we finally reunited as best friends. We can't let Yurika leave." After saying this, Karen wanted to go to Yurika's room.
Samantha, however, held her back.
"Don't stop her. If she wants to leave, let her go. Forget how she treated you all this time."
"But..."
Karen still hesitated.
Samantha interrupted her, "No 'buts'! She no longer considers you a friend. Don't bother keeping her."
Karen fell silent, feigning distress and lowering her head.
Out of Samantha's sight, she arrogantly curled up the corners of her mouth, and contempt filled her eyes.
Due to the angle, Samantha didn't see it, but Noah observed it keenly.
He furrowed his brows slightly, walked over, and took Samantha's hand, expressing concern, "Mommy, what happened? Why did you argue with Auntie Yurika?"
Samantha rubbed his little head and said, "It's something for adults to deal with. Children shouldn't interfere."
"But..."
Noah still wanted to say something when Yurika came out of her room with a suitcase, followed by Karen.
Karen raised her head, wanting to plead, but Yurika sternly rebuked her, "Don't touch me, Karen. You're really hypocritical. Seeing your hypocritical face makes me feel nauseous."
The heartless words turned Karen's face deathly pale in an instant.
Samantha's eyes suddenly turned icy, "Yurika, don't go too far."
Yurika sneered disdainfully, pushed her suitcase, and left without looking back.
Karen's eyes were red, tears streaming down her face.
Samantha remained cold and indifferent, showing no signs of reluctance.
However, Noah, seeing Yurika leave, hurriedly chased after her and intercepted her at the elevator.
"Auntie Yurika, are you really leaving?"
Yurika looked at Noah tenderly, sniffing and choking back tears, "I don't want to leave you and Charlotte, but I have to go now. During the time Auntie is away, you and Charlotte must be careful with Karen. She's not a good person."
Noah looked at her seriously, "Since you know she's not a good person, why did Mommy still keep her around?"
Yurika sighed, helplessly saying, "There's no choice. Your mommy doesn't believe me now. Instead of staying and being humiliated, it's better to leave voluntarily."
Noah appealed emotionally and reasoned, "Aren't you worried about Mommy? Aren't you afraid she'll be bullied by Karen?"
Yurika shook her head, with a thousand words but no way to express them. In the end, she just sighed deeply, held back her reluctance, and entered the elevator.
The elevator doors slowly closed in front of her.
Noah's little face turned cold as if struck by frost, and his entire body felt chilled.
Now that even Auntie Yurika had left, Miss Samantha was left with only the untrustworthy Karen. It seemed he had to be even more cautious in the future.
With the annoying person gone, Karen felt happy in her heart, but she still pretended to be very reluctant. She sat on the sofa, faked crying for quite a while. Under Samantha's various comforts, she only 'reluctantly' stopped her tears.
...
Ethan hung up the phone when he was on his way home, and it was a call from Suzy.
Anticipating that he wouldn't answer the call, Suzy sent him a message.
[Do you really think Samantha likes you? The person she truly likes is Justin Alexander.]
[She met Justin when she was eight, they became engaged when she was seventeen, and when she was eighteen, Justin went abroad for further studies. Unable to endure the loneliness at home, she messed around with other men and gave birth to a illegitimate child.]
[If you don't believe it, you can ask her what her son's name is.]
[Her son is named Alexander Miller. If she doesn't like Justin, why would she give her son this name?"
After sending a long string of messages, fearing that Ethan might not believe her, she sent a few pictures.
Ethan didn't read the text carefully, just glanced at the pictures she sent.
Immediately, he heard a sudden 'screech,' and his Maybach abruptly stopped at the side of the road.
He picked up his phone, carefully read the text Suzy sent, and then opened each picture one by one.
In the photos, a man was tightly embracing Samantha from behind, burying his face in her neck.
Their bodies pressed closely together.
The lighting was too dim, and their expressions were not clearly visible.
However, allowing a man to embrace her like this was enough to prove that their relationship was not simple.
Ethan's heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed by an invisible hand.
A slight pain.
Breathing became difficult.
He opened the next picture.
Surprisingly, it was a scene of the man kissing Samantha's cheek.
Samantha tilted her head, looking infatuatedly at the man.
The man's lips had already touched her red lips.
No matter how you looked at this scene, it seemed like a couple deeply in love.
Looking at the lips pressed together, Ethan's heart felt as if it had been scalded by hot oil, causing intense pain.
Trembling hands, he flipped through the pictures.
The rest of the photos were mostly the same as the first two, with the only difference being the change in their gaze and the tears in Samantha's eyes.
Even in the dim light, he could still clearly see the deep affection, reluctance, and the underlying sense of grievance in her eyes.
Pain.
His heart was repeatedly stabbed by an invisible sharp object, causing excruciating pain.
It felt like someone was using a sharp blade to pierce into his heart over and over again.
The pain was so intense that he couldn't breathe.
He remembered the clothes Samantha was wearing.
It was the outfit she wore on their blind date.
The time was also at night.
Which meant that Samantha was kissing him passionately one minute and meeting another man in secret the next?
Suddenly, Samantha's words echoed in his mind.
‘Mr. Steele, I'm sorry. I have high standards for bedmates. You currently can't meet my requirements.’
In that case, this wasn't just a statement made in anger, but a reality?
Anger gradually accumulated in his chest.
Ethan suddenly stepped on the accelerator, making a U-turn, heading straight for the residential area where Samantha lived.
Ten minutes later.
Ethan arrived at Samantha's building and called her.
"Come down..."
Samantha's dissatisfied voice came from the other end.
"I'm about to take a shower and go to bed! What's the matter?"
The voice was distant and full of impatience.
Ethan's chest suddenly felt like it was on fire, and he was infuriated to the extreme.
"Give you one minute. If you don't come down, I'll come up..."
After saying this, without giving Samantha a chance to refuse, he hung up the phone. Then he looked down at the time on his wristwatch, silently calculating.
Fifty-five seconds.
Fifty-six seconds.
Fifty-seven seconds.
Only three seconds left.
If Samantha didn't come down, he would go up.
Just as he was lowering his wrist, preparing to go in, Samantha's figure happened to emerge from the elevator.
