The next day,
Ethan slowly woke up, suddenly feeling something in his arms. He lowered his head and saw a messy head.
Was it Alex?
How did he end up sleeping in his arms?
Immediately, he felt a small hand resting on his waist.
Although he didn't turn his head, he guessed that the owner of the small hand was Noah.
Both of them slept by his side all night?
This realization brought about a strange feeling in Ethan's heart.
He couldn't help but stroke Alex's head.
This was his son.
Despite being angry with him yesterday, both little guys still stayed by his side.
His empty heart seemed to be filled all at once.
Ethan gently lifted Noah's hand off his waist, set it aside, and cautiously maneuvered his body without disturbing the two little guys.
After considerable effort, he finally managed to free himself from the ‘magic claws’ of the two little guys.
The two little ones slept late last night, coupled with staying up all night the night before, so they were sleeping especially soundly.
To avoid waking them up, Ethan suspiciously took a set of clean clothes and went to the adjacent room to take a shower.
After showering, Ethan went downstairs and instructed the butler, "Prepare some offerings."
The butler was puzzled, "How much should I prepare? Who are they for?"
He needed to decide the amount of offerings based on the person's identity and their position in Mr. Ethan’s heart.
Ethan pursed his lips and slowly uttered a name. "Jessica."
The butler instantly understood and left.
Ethan sat on the sofa.
The hangover made his temples throb painfully.
He leaned back on the sofa, closed his eyes, massaging his slightly sore temples, but involuntarily recalling all the scenes involving Samantha in his mind.
At that moment, Jade's phone call came.
"Sir, the information and videos are all ready! However, Justin is very cautious. We only managed to get a video of him buying medicine at the pharmacy and Karen's medical records. We didn't get the process of him drugging her."
Ethan rubbed his forehead and said, "Give these things to Karen and let her confront Samantha!"
"Um..." Jade hesitated, "The evidence is insufficient. Will Miss Samantha believe it?"
Ethan dismissed it, "It doesn't matter! Just do as I say."
Although there was no catching the thief red-handed.
However, as long as the seed of doubt was planted in her mind... with further effort, Justin and Samantha's marriage would definitely not happen.
Jade nodded in agreement.
...
Charlotte, Elliot and Grandpa Miller were having breakfast.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Samantha opened the door.
To her surprise, the visitor turned out to be Karen.
Karen's face was as pale as snow, her eyes dim, her whole body much thinner, looking like she could collapse at any moment.
Samantha looked at her warily and asked cautiously, "How did you find your way here? What are you here for?"
Karen held her abdomen with both hands and inexplicably said, "I lost my child."
"What?" Samantha was momentarily stunned by the nonsensical statement.
Karen's words seemed to carry a heavy weight. "My child didn't make it, I had a miscarriage."
Samantha finally understood, although she sympathized with the unborn child, she felt no sympathy for Karen.
"So? Did you come all the way here just to tell me that you lost your child?"
Karen deliberately ignored the sarcasm in her words and said hoarsely, "The child in my belly belongs to Justin."
Samantha raised an eyebrow with a half-smile, "Now that the child is no longer in you, you can claim he is Justin’s if you want!"
Karen gritted her teeth, "The child in my belly belongs to Justin. He's the only man in my life! We had arranged a time for a paternity test with his parents, but when I was getting my blood drawn, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my abdomen, and then the child was gone. The doctor said I had taken medication to invigorate blood circulation and remove blood stasis. I'm a pregnant woman, I wasn't sick, I wasn't in pain, and I wasn't injured, so why would I take medication like that?"
Samantha sighed, "What exactly do you want to tell me? I'm not interested in your affairs, and I don't have time to waste with you here."
Karen pulled out her phone and handed a video to Samantha.
"This is evidence of Justin buying the medication to invigorate blood circulation and remove blood stasis from the pharmacy! I also have the doctor's confirmation! The time I took the medication coincides exactly with the time he bought it!"
Samantha wasn't foolish; she instantly understood what Karen was implying.
"You want to tell me that your miscarriage was Justin's doing?"
"A long time ago, Justin knew I was pregnant with his child. He kept me imprisoned in his villa, intending to wait until the child was forty days old before aborting it. Later, I managed to escape and agreed to the paternity test. However, Justin, in order to prevent this child from affecting your wedding date, deceitfully made me drink milk with the medication mixed in it, and had the servants give me a glass of milk three times a day. During this period, I have been extremely careful with my diet. His parents have personally supervised my meals, and I have definitely not taken any medication harmful to the child. But I never suspected the milk he instructed, which ultimately led to the loss of my child..."
At this point, Karen choked up, her voice breaking into sobs.
"I loved him so much, trusted him so much. I never thought he would be so despicable, secretly drugging me, and even causing the death of his own child..."
Every time she thought of that unborn child, her heart ached as if it would break.
She never imagined Justin could be so despicable.
If only she had been more cautious and aware!
It was her own foolishness and ignorance that killed the child in her womb.
Samantha's heart grew colder with each word.
Despite this, she didn't show any change on her face.
"Karen, do you think I would doubt Justin because of your words? Moreover, even if this incident is true, so what? He didn't want this child because of me! Do you think I would call off the engagement because of this?"
Although she didn't agree with his methods, Justin did it all for her. Even if this were true, how could she abandon him because of it?
Karen looked incredulously at Samantha, never expecting her to say such words.
"Samantha, do you trust your future happiness to such a ruthless man, who would even harm his own flesh and blood for his own gain? If he can do this to me today, he can do it to you in the future."
Samantha said firmly, "No, he won't! He treated you like this because he doesn't love you. This child was just a tool for you to bind him, and he simply didn't want to be manipulated by you. The biggest difference between you and me is that he loves me! If I have his child in the future, he will only be happy, not hurt me."
With that said, not wanting to argue further, she ordered her to leave, "Enough, I'm busy, I don't have time to entertain you. Leave, I won't see you out!"
After finishing speaking, she decisively closed the door.
Karen looked at the closed door, her eyes turning sinister. She turned around fiercely, intending to leave, but she ran into Justin coming out of the elevator.
