She drove as fast as she could, drifting very hard but carefully while hoping that those running after her would not catch up with her.

The children never stopped looking back at the Hilux cars running after them, Amy drove even faster, she wasn't ready to give up but she she was stunned when she another Hilux cars coming from before her, since she was in a tiny road and there were cars before and behind her, she knew she had no escape route again so she slowed down slowly and after putting the car to a stop, she turned to look at her kids," please be calm, okay?"

The children only nodded their head then she walked out. In a jiffy, the Hilux cars before and behind her parked very close to her and the soldiers appeared.

However, the soldiers didn't walk towards her, Amy then watched as a man with a noble charisma walked towards her.

"Hey, Amy," the man called.

"Who are you?" Amy asked confidently.

"Lucifer! You must have heard of me. I'm the king of WestHill," he said.

"Oh you! You were the one who attacked our country?" She asked.

"And gave it to Broderick Alessandro," he answered.

"What did you mean?"

"I hate injustice I have been planning on taking NorthHill from Nolan ever since I heard that he forcefully took over from your president," Lucifer said.

"Is Broderick alive?" She asked.

"Of course," he answered.

Amy was confused," why exactly are you chasing me?"

"We aren't chasing you, Broderick sent us to get you," he answered.

"Why are you sounding like Broderick's servant? Aren't you a president of your country too?"

"I am. But Broderick is a god of war and I respect him. I will take you and the children over to the presidential lodge to meet Broderick then I can go back to WestHill," Lucifer said.

"Why should I trust you?" Amy asked.

"I mean no harm otherwise, I could have told this soldier to arrest you," he said.

Amy thought he was being reasonable then she got inside her car. After Lucifer had gone back to the car he stepped out from, all the cars drove over to the presidential lodge.

When Amy got there, she was surprised to see numerous people at alert and talking about the new president. Amy felt like this was too fast, Nolan was dethroned in minutes and Broderick was installed. That has to be fastest coup d'etat in history.

When Amy and the kids met with Broderick at the president's office, Amy ran to him and hugged him, with tears on her face, she said," I thought you were dead."

"Broderick Alessandro can't die easily, " he said.

Once Amy disengaged from the hug, the children also went to hug him.

Amy then turned to Lucifer and then asked Broderick," Are you are aware that Lucifer is coming to help you?"

"Not at all. I thought he was against me until he stormed my house immediately you left and helped me out," Broderick said.

"Wow! Thank you Lucifer. But, Lucifer, I'm sure you must have lost a lot of soldiers during this battle, why did you risk your life and that of your soldiers to come and fight Nolan?" Amy asked. She now felt relaxed.

"Because I want my country to be in Broderick's good book," Lucifer smiled.

"Where is Nolan?" Amy asked.

"He escaped. No one knows where he is. We have searched earnestly for him but didn't find him," Lucifer said.

"Oh!" Amy exclaimed and sat on the chair, the children also sat along the long table.

"Mum, is dad the new president?" Moses asked.

"Yes, he is. I'm now the president's wife and you all are the president's son. The children were so happy at their new status that they didn't stop talking about it.

"I still have to get myself familiar to being a president. Sincerely, all these happened too fast. I had a plan of fighting Nolan and taking over my country from him but I knew it would take time but it seems fate has a better plan," Broderick said and everyone in the room smiled.

"I will return back to my country now," Lucifer said.

Broderick understood that there is no one in this world who would risk their life just to be in the good book of anyone. Being the most powerful man in NorthHill is not enough reason why Lucifer would risk his life and that of his soldiers to come and fight Nolan so he asked him, "Lucifer, what did you want in return?"

"I have what I need already," Lucifer replied.

"What's that?"Broderick askedm

Lucifer smiled and said," don't worry, Broderick. I wish you, Amy and the kids a lovely and peaceful life from today henceforth." He then went to Broderick and both men hugged after which Lucifer walked out.

"Is he suspicious?" Amy asked Broderick.

"He practically installed me as the president of the country, he gave me more power, I don't think there is anything suspicious in that but I have to grow the country to a point where it can't be attacked abruptly or easily by any country anymore," Broderick said.

"You are the god of war, of course, you can make that happen." Amy praised him.

Broderick was informed of some newscaster who were outside waiting to interview him, so he excused himself and was led by his new personal assistant outside. After answering lots of their questions carefully, he walked back inside but didn't see Amy and the kids.

"Amy and the kids and been taken to their quarters, I can take you there, sir," his PA said.

"Please do," Broderick said and he was taken to the quarters that Amy and the kids were.

Broderick heard laughter and light words coming from the quarters as he approached it, he knew at once that Amy and the kids are probably having fun. That made him happy

"I'll take my leave, sir, " his PA said after escorting Broderick to the entrance of the quarters.

"Alright," Broderick said and the PA walked away.

He knocked and the door got opened in no time, "dad!" It was Moses who opened the door but he couldn't see him.

"Son!" Since he didn't know which of his son called him dad, he couldn't call the little one standing before him by his name.

"Congratulations to you, I'm so happy on your new post," Moses said.

The other children who had been playing with Amy ran to Broderick and congratulated him.

"Come inside , dad," Debby said when she realized that Broderick was still standing at the entrance. Broderick didn't want to move further so he wouldn't miss road.

Amy was almost tempted to tell the children that their father was blind but they had just survived a chaos and were now happy, she didn't want them to be sad again so she walked towards them and said," I'll just walk with Broderick inside."

She held Broderick's hand and walked with him inside. The children didn't suspect anything, they even adored how their parents walked hand in hand lovingly.

The family of eight ate together. They talked, joked and had lots of fun after which everyone retired to their room.

When Broderick and Amy were alone in their new room, he said to her," I have a lot that I must study about this office that I have occupied abruptly, the documents had been sent to me but I can't read."

"I can read it all to you," Amy said.

"It's much, you will be tired in no time," Broderick said.

"I can't be tired. As long as you are not tired of listening," Amy said.

Broderick turned to her and said," I don't want to stress you, Amy."

Since Broderick laid on the bed, his back resting on the backrest of the bed and his two legs stretched long, Amy placed her head on his laps and said," you will stress me by not letting me read for you."

"Okay then," Broderick handed over his phone to her and told her what documents to open, Amy then began to read the document to him, since she opened the first page, she knew she was in for work this night as this very document she was reading has four hundred and nineth five pages.

She began to read nonetheless while Broderick listened. Broderick is very intelligent so he was grasping everything she was reading.

Amy started reading around 9PM and she was done with the first document by 11:59PM.

"I'm done with the first document, can I start to read the second one?" Amy asked.

"Aren't you tired?"

"I'm not."

Even if Amy is tired, Broderick felt like she wouldn't want to tell him so he said," well, maybe tomorrow morning, you can read it for me."

"How would you lead the country if you are not aware of the past activities of the country?" She asked.

Broderick placed his hand on her hair and caressed it gently, then caressed her cheek too and said," you are lovely, Amy."

"Thank you. Broderick. Don't ever leave me please." She said.

"I promise you. I've grown used to you now, Amy. Infact, I want to spend the rest of my life with you," Broderick said.

Amy blushed and hugged his waist, "thank you!" Her voice was soft.

"Can I go ahead and continue reading, please let me read?"

"You have to promise me that if you get tired, you will inform me," Broderick said.

"I will inform you, I promise," Amy quickly said then Broderick gave her the go-ahead to continue reading.

As Amy read and hours pass by, Amy resisted the urge to yawn cause at some point she started feeling sleepy but she didn't let him know. When it was 3AM, she couldn't help it anymore so she yawned.

Before Broderick could ask if she was tired and sleepy, Amy spoke," I'm tired now. I will read the rest for you tomorrow."

"You tried, how many hours had passed?" Broderick asked.

"More then three hours, it's 3AM now," Amy said.

Broderick ruffled her hair and said," sleep, my woman."

"How about you?" Amy was expecting him to lie down as she had already taken her head away from his lap.

"I still need to meditate on all you have read. But don't worry, I'll sleep as soon as I'm done meditating."

"Please sleep early, Broderick," she said.

"I will but can you start calling me sweet names? I know we are not married yet but I want to feel like it," Broderick said.

Amy blushed," erm...okay, hubby."

Broderick hummed and said," thank you, the name sounds sweet, sleep now, please."

Actually, Amy wanted to spend more time to talk with him but considering the fact that she was going to work tomorrow, she laid well on the bed and slept off.

Broderick remained in the position that he had been for the past five hours and began to meditate about everything that Amy had read to him and how he would pilot the country to a greater height, make life more comfortable for it's citizen and increase the security system of the country.

Hsi mind suddenly trailed back to Martha. Wait! Martha was brought in by Nolan? He remembered that he was taken away by Lucifer when the bomb was almost exploding but he totally forgot about Martha.

Could Martha be in that house that totally exploded? Is Martha dead? Not like he cares if she's dead, he just wanted to be sure.

He then picked his phone and placed a call across to Lucifer as they have already exchanged numbers after he had lead him to the presidential lodge hours ago.

Once Lucifer answered, he said to him," hey Lucifer, thank you for today. History will forever appreciate you."

"You are welcome, Broderick." Lucifer said.

"When you came to help me in my house, did you see any sick woman?"

"Martha? I saw her and she's currently with me," Lucifer said.

"With you? Why did you take her with you? Her families are here plus she's my hostage," Broderick said.

"You asked me what I want in return for saving you, remember I said I got what I need already. Well, I was referring to Martha," Lucifer said.

"What did you know about her? Why are you interested in her?"

"Have you ever wondered why her blood type matches with yours?" Lucifer asked.

"No."

"Well, you can't really understand everything for now but Martha is with me. That's the least you could do for me after I helped in taking power away from your enemy and giving you," Lucifer said.

"Okay," Broderick said and hung the call up. Although he partially agreed for Lucifer to have Martha, he couldn't stop wondering why Lucifer was interested in Martha?
