Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 730

Ch. 730 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

These hours felt like an eternity to Derek, as if he were trapped in a living hell.

Every second was a fierce battle against the searing pain, yet he gritted his teeth and remained conscious despite it all. His mind was filled with the hope of seeing Tabitha the moment the surgery ended.

The operating room door slowly creaked open, and Misha rushed forward like a gust of wind, anxiously shouting, "Derek, are you okay?"

At this moment, Derek's chin weakly rested on his crossed hands, as if all his strength had been drained in the struggle against the pain.

He was drenched in cold sweat from the agony and was on the verge of collapse.

But the moment the door opened, he still mustered up his spirit, and his eyes eagerly looked towards the door.

The first person he saw was not the concerned Misha but the Tabitha he had always been thinking about.

Derek ignored Misha's greeting and said in a weak but affectionate voice, "Tabitha."

Hearing the call, Tabitha slowly walked to Derek's side.

Derek tried to stretch out a hand as if searching for warmth and support in the dark.

Seeing this, Tabitha immediately held his hand.

She could feel that Derek's palm was no longer as dry as usual, but was covered with sweat that had not yet dried, which was the proof of his struggle in the pain.

"I promised you, I will survive," Derek said. He finally fainted after saying this, as if he had used up the last bit of strength.

But even in a coma, he did not let go of Tabitha's hand, as if to declare his deep love for Tabitha to the whole world.

This scene was like a slap on Misha's face, making her face turn very gloomy in an instant.

And Derek's unreserved favoritism towards Tabitha undoubtedly became Tabitha's most solid support.

Seeing this, Rolf anxiously asked the doctor beside him, "Mr. Weaver, how is Alpha Derek?"

Dr. Weaver lightly snorted and said, "He is lucky. A piece of glass almost hit his heart, but fortunately it deviated by a few centimeters in the end. It is also fortunate that it is winter and he is wearing thick clothes, which played a certain buffering role. If it were summer, he would probably have lost his life today," Dr. Weaver continued.

"So, is he okay now?" Rolf asked nervously.

"He is stubborn, refusing to use anesthetics and insisting on enduring it himself. You must remember to change his medicine well recently and never let the wound get infected; otherwise, there will be serious trouble," Dr. Weaver said.

"Thank you, Mr. Weaver," Rolf said gratefully.

Dr. Weaver waved his hand and said, "He needs to be observed in the ward."

It seemed that after confirming that Derek was out of life-threatening danger, Dr. Weaver's tense nerves also relaxed, and his facial expression was no longer as cold as at the beginning.

Derek was still holding Tabitha tightly in his coma, and Tabitha had no choice but to hold the edge of the bed and follow the medical staff to push him to the ward.

Dr. Weaver glanced at Misha, who was following beside, and couldn't help but advise, "It's a matter between them. Don't meddle in."

Misha listened and stamped her foot in anger, saying, "Not! They divorced long ago! Since he is now a single man, why can't I pursue him? Or do you think I will lose to that bitch? She has nothing but a pretty face. In terms of family background and position, where does she compare to me?"

Dr. Weaver sighed and said, "I can't interfere in the affairs of you young people. I just want to give you some well-meaning advice: know when to stop. Don't wait until you hit a brick wall and still don't know how to turn back."

Misha didn't bother with this and turned and ran away, chasing all the way to the ward.

After Derek was settled in the ward, Misha volunteered and said, "I will stay here. Just leave."

Tabitha had never considered reconciling with Derek, but Derek was injured for saving her, and she could not just leave Derek alone out of consideration for feelings and reason.

She tried to move her hand, which was tightly held by Derek, and said, "I would like to leave, but he won't let me. However, if you want to stay, I have no objection."

Saying this, she signaled Rolf to bring her a chair, and then sat down.

Rolf looked at Tabitha's exhausted appearance and quietly suggested, "Tabitha, you have been up all night. It is a double bed. Why don't you sleep next to Alpha Derek? It will be more comfortable, and I will go and get another quilt for you."

Tabitha originally thought that this would not be appropriate.

But then she thought that people are always first impressed, and she had already left a bad impression on everyone.

Even if she stood at attention to guard Derek today, those who looked down on her would still look down on her.

So why care about other's eyes?

She was already weak, and after standing for so long, her calves were sore.

She didn't know how sore her waist and back would be if she leaned on the edge of the bed again.

"Okay," she said.
