Third person's POV
Derek swiftly glanced behind him, only to realize that Rolf and Alvin had vanished without a trace.
He had been able to drink without a care in the world because he knew they were there, watching his back.
But now, at this critical moment, they had inexplicably disappeared, leaving Derek to fall into the trap this woman had so meticulously laid.
The woman before him, confident in her enchanting beauty and alluring figure, was certain that all men would be bewitched by her charm and lose their reason to her allure.
However, when Derek turned to look at her, she found no trace of desire in his deep-set eyes.
There was only boundless authority and piercing coldness washing over her like a tidal wave.
Though Derek sat there calmly, with her standing tall and elegantly, the difference in their auras was like a vast chasm separating heaven and hell.
Derek resembled a mighty wolf king sitting majestically on his throne, contemptuously observing everything around him.
To a powerful Alpha like him, this woman was as insignificant as a speck of dust. Her coquettish tricks were nothing more than childish antics, not worth a second glance.
The woman, filled with discontent, attributed it all to the potion not taking full effect yet.
She continued to sway her hips, feigning shyness as she tried to get closer to Derek, convinced that her figure, which she had always taken pride in, could not fail to attract his attention.
If Tabitha were here, she would have sensed the danger in the air.
The woman, however, was oblivious to the fact that her flaunted figure only evoked a strong sense of disgust in him.
Derek asked coldly, "What kind of attempt do you have in mind?"
Finally, he spoke, and the woman's heart leaped with joy. She cooed seductively, "My dear, I am willing to accompany you to experience everything your heart desires."
"Very well," Derek's eyes momentarily turned as dark as night, his thin lips parting to utter words that seemed like a cold verdict from the abyss.
"As you wish."
Although Derek had agreed, the woman inexplicably felt a chill spreading from her back, as if an invisible pair of cold eyes were staring at her from behind.
Her gaze involuntarily fell on the man's Adam's apple. Judging by her years of experience in the realm of love, this man was undoubtedly a rare gem.
She licked her luscious lips and said in a sickly sweet voice, "Let's go to my room, darling."
Initially, she had wanted to suggest the thrilling and wild infinity pool, but considering it was their first encounter, she feared scaring him away.
Derek's face was half-hidden behind a mask, concealing his true expression, but the slight curl of his lips revealed a chilling coldness akin to the arrival of the grim reaper. "Excellent, tonight, we shall indulge in revelry."

After telling Ayla a short story, Tabitha had no intention of sleeping.
She draped herself in a delicate coat and stood quietly at the edge of the terrace, allowing the cool sea breeze to blow against her freely, savoring the moment of peace and tranquility.
She didn't know how much time had passed when she keenly caught the sound of a door closing softly.
She surmised it must be Wilmot returning.
She wondered if he had discovered any useful information.
Gently arranging Ayla's blanket, she tiptoed towards the outer compartment.
She carefully closed the door behind her to avoid disturbing the child's sweet dreams.
In the darkness, she distinctly heard the man's heavy breathing, like a wounded lone wolf licking its wounds in a hidden corner. A strange feeling washed over Tabitha.
About to turn on the light, her hand was suddenly covered by a hot, large hand. At the same time, a man's deep, hoarse voice, clearly suppressing pain, said, "Don't turn on the light."
Tabitha immediately recognized the strange in his voice and asked with concern, "What's wrong with you? Are you injured?"
Derek wasn't sure what kind of drug the woman had given him. The effect was so potent.
As an Alpha with extraordinary self-control, even with the medicine raging within him like a turbulent tide, he still tried his best to restrain himself, not wanting to frighten Tabitha.
"I'm fine. It's late. You should rest," he said, his voice striving to remain steady, but the slight tremble was hard to conceal.
Anyone could tell he was far from alright.
Tabitha silently speculated on the possible scenarios and pressed again, "Are you really not hurt?"
"No."
Tabitha slowly reached out towards him, her fingers touching the fabric, all soaked with sweat.
The man's body was scorching hot, like burning flames, as if there was an unquenchable fire raging inside him.
Tabitha, frantic with worry, cried out, "Turn on the light. Let me see what's going on!"
